you're fucking crazy! Vitus was great with Wino, but they were a magical band that was way more than just a skeleton before he even thought of joining the band. Chandler's solo's on the first LP was and will always be god-like. you don't need finger noodling to evoke the emotion you're going for.

I love Wino as much as the next man, but the Saint Vitus Self-Titled Lp was their best. It's like just cause of Wino's legendary status people think he made the band what they were.

Actually it was short lived frontman Christian Lindstromm of the highly underrated Count Raven who wore a Pantera top in the 'Fear' video, but Pantera def dont suck! You can hear the doom influence in what Anselmo does with Down, who are all huge Vitus fans.

Awesome, Doom Metal at it's finest. And yes they are pretty much an underground band, but they have probably influenced most of the bands you listen to. Everyone from Pantera, Henry Rollins, Nirvana, and just about every modern Heavy Metal band. Wino, who sang in Vitus, is a legend of the metal underground scene, and he barely gets any credit for all his contributions to metal in general. He is basically the most underrated Metal musician of all time as far as I'm concerned.
