@TheEdgefanatic The "hover"cars in Perfect Dark are using anti-gravity technology, hence their ability to maneuver with such dexterity and fly so high. :3 Hovercars that modern technology can create are far, far from what we see in Perfect Dark, and are very impractical.

I love the game and 90% of the campaign, but I think the Datadyne missions are by far the best. The XBLA remake really is beautiful and I personally didn't find it to detract from the original feel of the N64 version. Both have their charms and either are worth owning, you can spend hours on just campaign alone, the extensive multiplayer is very customisable. The game was ahead of it's time and considering it's set in a futuristic world this suits Perfect Dark, well, perfectly.

@Aaronneo1st Perfect Dark is not a Goldeneye 007 remake, it's a spiritual sequel with its own plot and its own characters. =P

My point was that if anyone decides to make Perfect Dark again, with "polished graphics" etc, then I wouldn't be surprised at all if they rewrote the entire dialogue, changed the voice actors, made the whole game look like a OP clone etc etc etc.

That's my issue with remakes; the only remakes I've truly liked are Super Mario All-Stars and Final Fantasy Origins.

@pcmarker234 Don't think the can, pretty sure MS has the rights and Nintendo blocked an improved Golden Eye à la Perfect Dark on XBLA so I don't think MS is eager to allow that :(

Would also require reworking the game, emulating it is very tough and even high end computer struggle to run Perfect Dark smoothly. Rare sure pushed the N64 to the very edge with it!

I love this game. I still play it a lot on my very old, very dusty N64, and this is by far my favourite level. Just the thrill factor of infiltrating a big tower, then with the added effect of this creepy music... it just made such an awesome level! It's such a shame 'Rare' aren't around anymore and a huge dissapoinment that 'Microsoft' went and 'took them over', if you will. The world would be a much-better-game-filled-place if 'Rare' were still making masterpieces like this!

Same here. It's still my favorite all-time video game (tied with goldeneye, lol)....the levels are fun to replay, and as for the combat simulator, I"m still only "Lethal 5" haha. I've been trying for years to get to the first rank. I absolutely can't wait till it comes out on the 360. Any world on when it will? Do u think it'll have the same soundtrack and voices of the original game? It should be very interesting. But it still won't beat the good 'ol N64!!

I'd love to play a remake, but I don't think anything could beat the original. Then again, I may just say that because Goldeneye and Perfect dark = MY CHILDHOOD. When me and my friends played imaginary gun games at school, pretty much all my dying acts, injury acts, gun noises, reloading noises, and even gun styles and names were based on Perfect dark.

While my friends were making generic bangs to their 'machine gun'. I was making fast roars to a K-7 Avanger, and light 'pips' to the CMP150.
