Hi, Whats the ram on this, is it 1gb and is it upgradeable to a larger capacity. Also how do actually change the ram on this netbook as from what your saying, it seems a hassle.
Im looking to buy a netbook and Asus at the moment is looking like a good brand, this one looks very decent but changing battery, ram looks a bit tough.
Actually, this is the Windows XP version that shipped this summer. I posted this video in June, long before Windows 7 was officially released.
If you check my YouTube channel, you'll find another video featuring the newer Windows 7 version which ships with Win 7 Home Premium and a larger 250GB hard drive.
i would rather own a macbook air, but those are much more expensive...depends on wether or not you wish to use OSX i guess. but an asus with windows 7 is just as good! im currently on a mbPro, but i have thought about getting a netbook instead.
Idiot, 3 times in the video said HE instead of HA. For myself I bought the same new netbuk, and names you do not know that you are offended products from Asus. > (
Brad, which netbook of all that you have been trying do you think is the best one and why? Do you know where I can find a rewiev about how to change your battery for Asus 1008ha?
There's no one-size fits all answer to that question. If you're looking for small size and light weight, the Eee PC 1008HA, Acer Aspire One D250, or HP Mini 1000 might be best. If you're looking for long battery life, the Samsung N110, Asus Eee PC 1000HE, or others might be best.
As for changing the battery, it can't easily be done. Asus charges $129 for a replacement, and even if you could void the warranty and open up the netbook yourself, good luck finding a spare battery to put in there.
The performance is virtually identical to the 1000HE. They both have the same processor and similar screens, RAM, and hard drives. The 1000HE gets better battery life and has a removable battery, while the 1008HA is significantly thinner and lighter.
is there a 1008 model with wimax??

You can't say everything that's thin is a mac book shit.
Go check out new ASUS Slim Line series. There is no way a mac book air or watever gonna beat them.

I like the 1005HA better. This one looks like a cheap version of a Macbook Air.

Thanks for the review. 1008ha looks really cool, but I really need longer lasting battery, so I will get the 1005HA-P instead

I don't like the blank screen on 1008.
Do you think the screen is better on 1000HA in daylights ?
