  • I climaxed at 4:15

  • @EJHBoyd so true. as long as you have a good trombone player....

  • Brilliant playing, but I really think the solo is much nicer on the trombone (like in the brass band version).

  • Beautiful playing but I much prefer brass band version with the solo in the trombone.

  • Doesnt sound very hard and Im a bassoonist...

  • there is some weird instrumentation in this song

  • Great sound, but way to fast tempo in solo English horn

  • too fast, you cant get the feeling out of it, and i think it sounds better on trobone in the brass band version, but very good sounding band

  • one of my favourite pieces ive ever played with a wind band, all 3 movements are stunning. played principal euph on this with british wind band and its just beautiful

  • Jus GREAT!!!!!!!!! muy dificil mantener el tiempo, pero esta muy logrado. Thanks.

  • Absolutamente GENIAL!

  • Beautiful. Our Ballad in my high schools Marching Band. Amazing!

  • I must say that I played this piece with a very talented band, i love this piece, it has meny voices that all talk to each other, it is a greatly written piece of work

  • I conducted this piece several times, in my own country and in singapore, so I know it very well. Technically, this version is good. I should take everything a little bit slower, but that's a matter of taste.

    Ciao

  • yeah goooo bassoon. you don't know how hard that is to play!

  • I hope you mean the bassoon part not just mistaking the coeur part... =P

  • I love the climax at 4:15

  • Simply fantastic ..thank you for putting this up

  • Love this music. Speeds are all over the place though.

  • super, mann, hab das SBO Ried schon öfter gehört. LG vom SBO Bad Griesbach

  • Great English Horn soloist!

  • Sparke's music is in my opinion unique and as a wind player, simply amazing to play. To play this kind of music in the middle of a wind orchestra is what makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. It just awesome and so refreshing. You can see the musicians here loving it as well. Roll on Sparke, who needs Wagner?

  • Hi! It's beautiful. I love it. I played this in Khanty-Mansiysk(Russia, siberia) in 2006 as 3'rd clarinetist. It was great and difficult. Thank you for this video. Really great thanks. Sparke is a great composer. It's one of the best things in modern music, i think.
