My cd is even clearer so it sounds even more like "Joan" on that.The line when denny met cass he gave her love bumps is correct. i can hear that very clearly. I always knew that's what they were singing even before I saw the lyrics ever. And long pause doesn't rhyme with mugwumps.That wouldn't work at all.They are better than that.

But they didn't listen to the music of freedom that was being sung. They didn't understand their own slavery and that to which they were subjecting us kids

Yes, I know that the Mamas & Papas were waaaaaay before my time. Buut, as a kid, this is what i loved hearing in the car/house during roadtrips/cleaning days. It's a wonderful memory to have of my dad who no longer wants a part of my life. Maybe my fave of their tunes, luv the voices and truthful lyrics. For background, at least 4 books (2 by them) on the evolution of the group. John's musical ear and Cass' voice were the strength of the group. Sad it was break up shake up and it lasted but a short time. Toast to their memory and help make this a better, fairer world.
