He is obviously firing blanks. The Bren Ten he is shooting is actually a blank-firing .45 ACP Bren made specially for the show. I believe there were two, a producer from the show has one and the other hangs on the wall at the Hard Rock Cafe in Las Vegas.
I can dump a 20 round mag through my 10mm as fast as that and stay on target but it takes an extended barrel with 2 port comp and good safety glasses, other wise you'll be blind after the first shot, lol
I really wish that VTLOR would come out with it already. I have a MARKSMAN45ACP, which I NIB back in 2002/3 for $1950 with ((2)) extra magazines. It is a great shooter, but I don't shoot it any more, since I don't want to risk damaging it. I did have the slide hard-chromed a few months after buying it. BTW,I use to be "SCARAB" on ther BREN-TEN.COM forum, but I haven't been online in awhile. Check out my BREN-TEN on webshots
I remember watching "Dirty Harry" and hearing that unique gunshot sound they always made Callahan's revolver sound like. I wondered why *real* 44 magnums didn't sound like that when I first saw one used in person sometime back in the 1970's. That's when I realized the noise they use in the movies was just a bunch of BULLSHIT. Obviously they decided to use the same bullshit sound for Crockett's pistol. Albeit, it *does* sound more impressive than the real noise.
@MUSICALGUNNUT45 I'll bet money on that.... I also once saw a western (forget the name) and the Henry lever guns sounded identical to the flintlock rifles in The Patriot...
@madhellsing Having fired both, I do like the BT's 10mm cartridge and the balance in the pistol, but the 1911's overall design is more reliable. The Colt Delta Elite is based off a 1911, but is chambered in 10mm. Best of both world.
@jpgbrookes Anythings possible I suppose (hickok45 comes to mind :P) but you would have to be a pretty big guy to control it that well.. he's an actor and obviously shooting blanks for safety reasons.. so therefore there's next to no recoil.
@kimisdaman There's nothing to play devil's advocate about. "Thallium200" is full of it. He doesn't have a Vltor Bren Ten, and he doesn't have an inside man at Vltor that scored him one. Notice he hasn't responded or posted a video as requested. I bet if I call Eric Kinsel at Vltor he might agree..........
thallium200- Since Vltor hasn't even released it yet, why don't you post of a video of your new gun, markings and all on here. I'd love to see it. That is, if you really have it.............
Per Sporting Products, the release date is going to be sometime in October, and you will be able to buy them through Bass Pro.
@freelancerMMX Playing devil's advocate for a moment, anyone who saw the display case full of preproduction guns at SHOT, and pics on Vltor's website showing rows of slides, bins full of hammers, etc., could conclude that there are a number of Vltor Bren Tens "out there", and who knows who has them? If I knew someone at Vltor, who offered to let me test a sample (I emailed and volunteered, was rejected, so I apparently don't know the right people), I'd be happy to do so.
This guy is full of it. He knows less than the people who have been following the situation. Vltor has the rights to the BrenTen name, got them from Voit long ago. I call BS unless he posts a video.
@kimisdaman If you know someone you can. VLTOR has made about one hundred already. They are still trying to aquire the name "BEN TEN" since they are out of business. I got the Vice version, all silver. They do have the two tone like the orig. ones had
@thallium200 That's very interesting. There was a Bren Ten marked slide shown at the 2010 SHOT Show, with the announcement that they already had arranged the naming rights, but at the same time, it was conceded that the Gunsite raven, which was also on the preproduction guns at SHOT, would not be on the production guns.
Love the video and how it showcases a really cool pistol. But watching him crank off shots without any recoil at all??? You can really tell he is shooting blanks.

@madhellsing Almost. John Browning's 1911 still has an edge over it.

I like that, in the 80's and early 90's, movies and TV shows never showed the slide being racked during loading.
Maybe that's partly why people always shoot themselves because they think they're unloading the gun by taking the magazine out.

Is it even possible to control a 10mm that well after enough practice?
jpgbrookes 1 year ago
@jpgbrookes Yes, it is very easy to control a 10mm. If you can shoot anything .40 cal and above, you can control a 10mm.
