@SirJosephOxford - dude, look where you are...you're on YouTube. The Internet. The biggest waste of time ever invented and you preach that you're all about "the real world". LoL
@lesliederek - welcome to rest of the world. I got my first 61" in 2000. This is my 2nd 61" TV (notice i posted this video 2 years ago). I also have a 50" Plasma upstairs in my gaming room.
@kboy3141 - considering I got my 5.1 surround sound for under $100 about 10 years ago, it's been through 4 different moves and it's still sounds amazing...color me impressed.
u have to replace the color wheel on dlp tvs every 3,000 or so hours of use and their very expensive.i still think plasmas have the best picture but thats just me..nice setup you got
hey man do you how many people own samsung tv's like over a million and your crying about that on every single samsung video that 1000's of people are screwed off course many tv's have fabric failures but that doesnt mean that all samsung tv's are going to fail people just have bad luck and sometimes SHIT HAPPENS!
Most people would like to know before hand if there buying JUNK. Samsung tvs are JUNK and people should know that THOUSANDS of samsung customers were SCREWED before they buy this GARBAGE so they won't be SCREWED TOO. Put SAMSUNG TV CLICKING into a google search and read the TRUTH before U buy.
Only the people that have problems complain. What about the satisfied customers, they are probably sipping on an ice cold one, watching their samsung tv.
@maltyful And i'm not one of them. Iv had a Samsung for about three years no problem. Also do a Google search and you'll find that Samsung makes the tv screens for many companies, including Sony.
You Mitsu fans...go read the review from CNET on this Samsung DLP. And the editor at CNET says this Samsung BLOWS Mitsubishi out of the water!. And these TVs are LED powered. Not like your Mitshus that need bulb lamp replacements. These LEDS will last the life of the TV (60,000 hours). STOP hating on the Samsung 7 series, and go buy yourself one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I also forgot to mention one more thing, The lamps will always be available for the TVs, They are made by both Phillips and Osram and the very same type bulb in my tv's are used in hundreds of other projectors, tv's and other devices requiring a UHP lamp, They don't make 1 special bulb for 1 model, They do use different wattages and different cartridge housing but all you have to do is take apart the cartridge and screw in a new lamp at the cost of $100 off ebay instead of $200 for the complete.
Yes, they will still be making bulbs in 30 years for a technology that is almost over now (DLP). Just like they still make parts for 8-track players, right? Bottom line: never buy a TV who's picture is going to blow right in the middle of a big televised event or whn a group of friends is over to watch a movie, etc. Better buy about 20 of those bulbs *now*, dude. :)
I have a samsung hln5065w, POS color wheel twice ballast once, Now it just goes off whenever, A samsung hl61a750, LED went bad once already fixed under warranty thank god and color is less, I have also a Mitsubishi Wd-73733 73" And a 57" Wd-57732 and the color and brightness is great, And never had a single problem, I will also never buy a POS plasma or LCD flat panel cause they suck and gradually dim over time. Just taking apart the 2 brands you can see whats made better.
Well, one thing is certain- pretty much *any* LCD, plasma, or DLP TV is going to have *some* kind of issue that needs adresing within a few years. I guess this is the price we pay to not have a 60", 500 pound CRT spewing radiation everywhere :)
Funny thing is I have 4dlp in my house 50"+. My biggest is a 73" You should have gotten a mitsubishi as my 2 samsungs gave me problems and the mitsubishi sets are rock solid and look better than a plasma or lcd.
Um, no. He shouldn't have gotten a Mitsubishi. Not only are Samsungs better quality and get far better reviews from consumers and experts alike, but the model he bought has LED, not the $200 lamp that blows once in year in Mitsubishis. It also doesn't have the "color wheel" that makes the image have a slight flicker and also can make a shitload of noise. Your Samsungs probably don't have the LED technology. It's only in the last 2 models that have come out. This guy bought the right DLP TV.
Pal, They do have LED and the color is no were near as good as the mitsubishi, Theyuse a 6 color light engine and my lamps last about 3 years and I pay $100 for them on ebay, After 30k You LED is toast and you have to dispose it, This just keep on replacing lamps and it will outlast everything else.
You say the Samsung will last 30k hours. Other sources say 60k. For the sake of argument, let's say it's in between: 45k. I use my TV an average of 4 hours a day- thats 31 YEARS before it's toast. So $1500 for apprx. 30 years of use. 20 would be worth it! Meanwhile, replacing the bulb in your Mitsu at an average cost of $200/bulb once a year (not to mention inflation and the fact that those bulbs will become more scarce) means your TV will have cost you about $8700 by 30 yrs from now. Awesome.
Lamps last 3 years my ass. Maybe if you use the TV an hour a day. Every site I've found says 4000 hours, but many are complaining about bulbs blowing after 8 months. It's worth $1500 for a Samsung that will last 20-30 years instead of a TV that'll blow a bulb and fry in the middle of the Super Bowl or something.
PS: From an HDTV experts forum: "I would highly recommend going with the HL67A750 over the Mitsubishi. It is really a no brainer. You never have to replace any lamps! The color wheel is a moving part which will also wear out and need to be replaced. The 750 has superior color fidelity, and once properly calibrated it will never have to be recalibrated since the colors don't degrade over time, as with lamp-based models. It also consumes less energy, makes less noise, etc." Read it an weep, "pal".
Funny your not mentioning the high failure rate of the LED's! Oh yeah, There are alot of failures of the LED also I can assure you my lamps last 3 years watching TV hours and hours a day and its japenese technology not some stupid south korean knock off brand, My samsung tvs have no where near a good and colorful of a picture that my mitsubishi's do, It's kinda nice to have 4 Big screen DLP tv's in your house, You can see everyday what looks better and has more color, Sorry I will stick Japan.
Interesting that YOU'RE not mentioning how your Samsung TVs aren't the latest models with LED when you compare to ur Mitsus (Now comes the part where you lie and tell me that ALL of your 213 TVs are the latest models) And sorry, I will stick with what 8 gazillion reviewers are pretty much universally saying: that the newest Samsungs are more reliable and look better than the Mitsus. Who do I believe- boatloads of experts or one guy on YouTube who's mad he spent money on the wrong TV? Game over.
btw, what is the model number of Mitsu's LED version? I can't seem to find any info about it. In the meantime, enjoy your rainbow effect and bulbs blowing in the middle of your favorite movie :)
Best Buy had a sale going on that very day i went shopping for big screens (just my luck) TV = $2,500 - Stand = about $500. The sale was if you buy the two together they give you a $700 discount. WEIRD, HUH?
The stand is incredibly heavy. I could not lift it by myself if my life depended on it, but its super sleek. It's black metal & black glass, and perfectly fits all my hardware. - And I sit about 8-10 feet away.
nice. you should be proud. its a great TV and its super light! my brother just installed a 50" LCD tv on his wall and he said it was about 150lbs. It feels like mine is about 30lbs. LOL
How do the graphics of older consoles like the NES or Super Nintendo look like on a tv like this? Is it still okay? Because of the lower resolution I mean.
thats a great video of getting the TV, but only if you could have included more footage at the end of maybe playing Rock Band or something... I see the guitars there.
Is this the 76 or the 87 series? I have the the 76 series 61 and love it to hell! 10,000:1 contrast ratio and over 2 million pixels is just bad ass! Blueray on any samsung DLP is outstanding! The Samsungs series are also 3-d ready, which is the future for animation!:) I have a ps3,Wii,saturn,dreamcast,fc twin, all connected to my DLP! Check out my vid tomorrow. I will be posting a vid on my game collection along with the DLP. I also own a 42" samsung LCD 1080p. Great vid.
I'm sorry dude. You're probably cool and all with this TV, but since you don't have a PS3, I'm extremely pissed and hanging my head in disgust. But you do have a Dreamcast though, thats a good thing, LONG LIVE THE DC!
Hey hows the picture look from the side of the tv. I've heard that watching a DLP from the side will look dark and I wanted to know if it's anything that noticeable.
ya it does get dark from the side but it has to be a pretty extreme angle. like if its a 45 degree angle there is no difference. i'll tell you what - the darks are pretty awesome and black.
i actually just bought a 50" samsung DLP at best buy about a month ago. it was $1699, but since they're getting new models in, i got it for $1000. i absolutely love it. the 61" will be my next upgrade for sure.
nah i didnt get the monster power center. anything from montster is too overpriced. i dont think ill need anything like that. i just have two regular power strips plugged into the wall behind it and i got my Tv, a 360, a PS3, a Wii, a Genesis, a Sony 5-disc DVD Surround Sound system, a VCR/DVD Combo, and a Cable Set-Top Box all plugged into them and i dont get any feedback or have anything go wrong.

Do the other DLP manufacturers have this many problems. Called 800-SAMSUNG. They refuse to fix the problem. Out of warranty.
