  • So aquaman has always been able to fly @0:20

  • why was aquaman flying?

  • @eladr1en Same with Wonder Woman, for that matter. We knew she flew in an invisible jet,but that's about the extent of how supernatural she was.

  • The justice league has an automatic advantage over the legion of doom. Since members of the LoD are all evil they can't trust each other, and thefore are as much a threat to each other as the justice leauge. Of course I prpbably overthinking a saturday morning catroon I used to watch when I was 5-8 (early 1980s).

  • First watched this over 30 years ago and that march at 0:22 still gives me chills.

  • Superfriends took care of the Legion of Doom; but why didnt they take care of all the drug dealers and child molesters ?

  • Cartoons are governed that are shown on TV by FCC different from CCA

  • This was the best of the SF series, not that that's saying a whole lot! Kinda like saying someone's valedictorian in special class!

  • so wait. Captain Cold's main goal is life is to shoot the earth and make giant icicles come off it sort of? that's REAL evil.

  • 0:57 Where are sinestro and lex going?

  • Banded together from remote galaxies? Only like 2 or 3 are from other planets, lol.

  • Sorry Bizarro was not a supervillian he was just special ed and needed to be treated nice, he just had bullies ordering him to do bad things.

  • The Flash had cool sound effects.

  • I love the Legion Of Doom!!!!!! Challenge of the Superfriends was my favorite one!

  • And MEG

  • @WisRonsin1 Would you Family Guy losers stop posting lame quotes from that crap show?

  • @MervynCruddy Lighten up Francis !! lol

  • @WisRonsin1 Thank you--"Stripes" is a much better source than "Family Guy."

  • @MervynCruddy Thanks :-)

  • Most sinister villains ever and the Joker isn't present! Even as a child I found something to be very wrong with that.

  • the legion of doom?? why aint they all wearing spiked football pads... oh wait wrong group.

  • what is the name of the villian that looks like a jester?

  • Comment removed

  • @BlkChameleon

    Toyman, He's a Superman Villain

  • This and the final season (Galatic Guardians) were the best seasons, of the Superfriends.

  • They got to release these on Blu-ray.

  • hmmm i remember there being wonder twins

  • @splint911 The Wonder Twins and Gleek only appeared on Riddler's cards, in the first episode. It was part of Lex Luthor's "roll call" of villains.

  • 0:50 Darth-Stewie's Head?

  • Classic, Loved as a kid. Probably fav version

  • i think that they should make more of the show or make a live version of it for the big screen or even tv

  • 0:34 My god where will they find a kitchen that big :o

  • Loved this intro. Used to watch a little of the Superfriends as a kid years ago. I subbed your channel for this man.

  • After being on the air for over ten years, this is the only version of SuperFriends that anyone remembers. Deservedly so.

  • @SpreadingtheMuse Remember a few versions, this probably the best.

  • Funny how the Superfriends could never seem to find the Legion of Doom's hideout. How hard would it have been for Superman to use his xray vision to find a giant penis in a swamp?

  • this was great.after two years of Superfriends repeats on ABC, Hanna-Barbera finally gave us kids a new series of adventures...and they gotrid of those Dam hippies ...and got rid of that mutt too

  • This is a classic i can remember wakeing up real early saturday morning to watch all these cartoons

  • Haha, I've seen a million cartoon intros, and this has to be one of the best!

  • 0:55 - thats where the X-men cartoon intro stole this from.

  • One of the best cartoons hands down from my child hood!! Love it!!! Going to search for dvds for it online right now!!!

  • I was never a fan of comics as a kid but the Superfriends turned me on to DC comics ..To this day I like DC better then Marvel

  • Meanwhile At The Legion Of Doom!!

  • I remember as a kind, getting home from school in time to enjoy the Jay's Oke-Dok-e Cheese popcorn with the change I took off of my grandfather's dresser everyday and catching this theme song of the Superfriends. I knew it was going to be an adventure I COULD NOT MISS!

  • aaaapppppaaaacccHHHHEEEE CHIEF!

  • Loved watching the superfriends growing up!

  • lol at 0:21....they all marching to the beat lol

  • I love how at 0:36 the cars are just dots for headlights and taillights. Guess they thought nobody'd notice . . .

  • SOLOMON GRUNDY LUVV YOUTUBE!

  • 0:34

    Big woman:AHHH GET AWAY!!!!

    Big man: COME HERE BITCH!

  • @burby8100 I'm surprised the traffic on the road was still moving freely.

  • Them SF had 11 members vs. LOD had 13 members, them LOD were stronger !!!

  • I like totally grew up on this like totally awesome show :)

  • the only one who's lame on the sf or jla is batman and robin. they're the only ones with no powers and have to rely on public transportation to get to the bad guys. it does kill me that batman is one of the more powerful hero with no power, how is that possible.

  • @mrknowitalllt1 being the world's greatest detective and being able to deduce the weaknesses of a villian and/or their plans kinda helps, i guess. Being skilled in most martial arts and having a belt filled with all sorts of villian-beating gadgets probably helps too.

  • @TheSV3 i understand what you're saying but, batman is still just an ordinary man. he don't have the strength of superman or the speed of the flash. there is absolutely no way he can hang with any of those super villains. on any of the shows he either out smart or just defeat his opponents and that's because the story was written for him to win.

  • @mrknowitalllt1 If you're going to start talking about the story being written for him to win then you have to realize it's the same for every super hero. The story is written for them to win. Those super powers are written into them. Think about it that way and no super hero is all that great.

  • @CasualVader i agree with you to a point about stories written for heroes, but batman is bullshit because he takes on super villains 1000 times stronger than he is and can kill him with one punch. superman, spider-man, wonder woman, sentry, thor, and my personal favorite THE HULK all have powers and can handle themselves and take punishment. batman can't fly, lift cars or outrun bullets but he but he always win how is that possible.

  • @mrknowitalllt1: I think the point behind Batman is the idea of "brains over brawn"... not to mention, he is essentially the only real stand-in for the human race.

  • @TheRealNormanBates you're right he does use his brain but, to be a mere human don't anyone thinks he can take too much punishment.

  • @mrknowitalllt1

    Because is the goddamn Batman

  • @DaxVanStreich so what's your point?

  • @CasualVader and lets talk about his sidekick robin always screaming for help when he gets grabbed. don't get me wrong cause i do like batman, but i think it would be better if they had written that he did have powers.

  • @CasualVader Correct me if I'm wrong on this, but the year that Challenge/Super Friends came out, wasn't the Comics Code Authority still in effect at the time (for all publiishers of comics)? One of their main rules is that "good must triumph over evil and the villian(s) punished for their misdeeds." I'm uncertain if a similar standard existed as far as TV was concerned- at episode's end the bad guy's plot was thwarted but they usually managed to escape at episode's end. Thanx.

  • @TheSV3 im pretty sure the comics code initiation had ended by that time, by the 1970's Batman had started to return to his more darker roots but since the campiness was still in everyones mind they kept the heroes in shows like this very kid friendly

  • @mgk22 The CCA, from what I uncovered, ceased to exist as of 29 Sept 2011 when its rights & seal were sold by Comics Magazine Association & Authorship to the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, as well as Marvel pulling out in '01 & DC in '11, due to changing times since its inception in 1954. I'm guessing that while it still existed in the 70s, its influence was beginning to decline on TV as well in comic books if you compare then and now. Thanx.

  • Why is Aquaman always flying?

  • From the halls of political correctness come the world's lamest heroes, the Apache Chief, Black Vulcan and Samurai. Soon to be joined by an even lamer PC super hero, El Dorado. He has the power of speaking with a strong Mexican accent, being culturally diverse, and running away using teleportation.

  • Okay, let me spell it out for you. The cartoon features a group of uber-bad villains. They plot all sorts of larceny and malfeasance. Now as an allegory, we have a small group of super-opulent bankers who have stolen about three times the gross domestic product of the entire planet from the american taxpayer. This group are Rothschild, Getty, Rockefeller families et.al. - This is the real-life "legion of doom". War financing is their top most profitable industry . - Get it?

  • As someone with an actual degree in economics, allow me to assure you all that dynagravitomagnetic is talking complete bollocks. Er, if you couldn't tell that on your own already.

  • wth? two supermen :D

  • @BoboisAnubis The one with the backwards S on the legion of doom is Bizarro, Superman's imperfect duplicate.

  • when these JLA type shows were most popular, I was already aware that the most opulent bankers that operated an international cartel were the legion of doom. Through the inflation of the number of currency bills in circulation, and then atrophy to reduce (and then increase) the value of these denominations, they destroy society. The Governments are powerless to do anything because with money, the L.O.D. control politicians like puppets! the (Getty, Warburg, Rockefeller, and Rothschild famiilies)

  • @dynagravitomagnetic You're a fucking cretin and what you know about economics or currency - or, for that matter ,the Justice League - could probably fit into a thimble. I hope you die screaming as Superman super-rapes you.

  • @jacobkosh You apparently don't understand macro economics. It would be pointless to explain, as you probably lack rational capacity to comprehend, and are not interested anyway. Therefore, fuck your whore mother and your bitch faggot daddy too, you piece of shit. I hope you rot in hell. Thank you for being so astute and well informed as to operations detrimental to society on the part of international banking cartels, and the current paradigms they have created in today's financial world.

  • @dynagravitomagnetic I have a degree in econ; what's yours in? Crazy bullshit? You probably got an A.

  • @dynagravitomagnetic What in the name of Jor-El are you fucking talking about?

  • @apvideogame Fucking John Maynard Keynes, Max Weber, Adam Smith. John Mc Murty, "the cancer stage of capitalism".(1999 pluto press) Current events. -Wall Street Bankers have stolen all credit and money, & demand the working class take austerity. They are the "legion of doom". If you are not at least an economics major or sociologist with a masters degree or better, there is a good chance that you will not know. The ignorant will only use foul language and abuse for cover.

  • @dynagravitomagnetic You are aware that this is a video of the intro of Challenge of the Super Friends a Saturday morning cartoon where Superman and the Justice League of American fought against Lex Luthor and the Legion of Doom for the fate of the world. I don't know what caused you to jump from Super Friends to macro economics and sociology, it's is like jumping from Jabberjaw to molecular physics. So I ask what in the name of the Darkseid are you fucking talking about?

  • I want my very own Hall of Doom NOW u_u

  • apache chief...ie nae chuke !

  • you cant say thats not the most epic part 0:20 to 0:25 THE SUPERFRIENDS!!!! then the music goes god mode

  • Too bad Batman and Superman really aren't team type of guys. LOL

  • SPERM WHALE

  • LOVED this show when I was little and they would air it on cartoon network

  • Scarecrow ain't sinister..

    He.. Hes made of straw..

  • I love this show as a kid never missed it on satursay mornings

  • Haha,I love how Luthor is running towards Superman's fist at the end !?

  • this song rocks, from the steady build up to the triumph at 20 seconds, damn straight, FUCK MARVEL HEROES... DC IS WHERE THE REAL HEROES LIVE

  • Except for THE WATCHMEN DC is full of boy scouts and psas' MARVEL is my universe

  • you apparently haven't read DC books.....Batman nearly killed the entire league multple times....there are just so many other stories

As far as boy scouts....Cyclops, Captain America, Reed Richards, Spiderman

  • This was a great show, I love it as a kid. My only problem with the intro is that Green Lantern is the only hero being attacked (and the only one exluded when the others are winning). WHY?! He captured the Legion on his own several times!!

  • he was too busy checking out chicks

  • The best heroes vs the most dangerous villains... this show had it all.

  • @tinynicktune yes!

  • @tinynicktune And this version of Superfriends at least somewhat resembled the comic books.

  • If they made a remake of the "Challenge of the Superfriends"

I would think that FUNimation will remake it but with more people

  • 0:33-0:35: It's a bird, it's a plane, no it's, it's.... AW EW. It's huge and smeels from here.

  • Green Lantern FTW!

  • This was made by Hanna-Barbera, not Filmation.
