I would sometimes have to check some of my peers in that fan-base, because they would constantly diss other artists who were far more successful. (They especially hated on Beyonce.)

The reason I like Beyonce, is because I was a huge fan of Destiny's Child. As much as I like her, I like Kelly, Michelle, and Letoya the same way. Ciara I also like (well love, too, because she's sexy. lol)

You make many excellent points. I know what you're talking about... I used to be involved with a support-base for a music group that struggled . I would sometimes have to check some of my peers in that fan-base, because they would constantly diss other artists who were far more successful. (They especially hated on Beyonce.)
That was several years ago, and it's a long story. Today... I do not get involved with ANY fan groups, and I no longer support those particular recording artists.

Personally, I haven't "wow"d at a beyonce performance yet, becuz they all are pretty much the same, so I wouldn't say she's "great" yet.

But here's my take: 1) Beyonce is a great entertainer, however, she IS overhyped. 2) The whole "other artists need to step their game up" argument isn't an educated one becuz the business isn't as easy as "make a song and video then release it"...it's marketing and promotion and alotta politically correct stuff that goes on. Beyonce is only fulfilling her marketing team's goals and being OVER promoted. It's nt "greatness" it's a structure.

I never blamed Beyonce for anyone's loss, but I do think that some artists don't get the exposure, because sometimes music that they define as "theirs" don't interest others. Plus, the record companies are lazy to promote them. For example, Amerie, and Brandy.

Beyonce is hot because there is no competition. Not to take away from her talent because is very talented but point blank there is no competition. Put her back in the late 80's and 90's where the female groups and artists could actually sing and dance she wouldn't be as hot.....but still top 5.
Same thing with Jay Z. It is what it is.

I enjoy Beyonce. The really sad thing that young people will never experience is when a song was enough. it gave us the opportunity to personalize it. With audio and video combined, the brain has no option but to flash to the video when it hears the song.....takes away half of what a song once could do.

I totally agree! Other artist need to find their style & stick with it! I see so many artist start off one way & get a fan base. But, as soon as they see " what's hot" at the time or they let others influence them to change! They have no identity, there fore no know what " road" to follow them down! Beyonce, is God gifted talented, without a doubt. But, she also, works very hard at what she does. It shows it her performances, music, life she lives etc...

I agree!! This is the dumb stuff Brandy (Brand Nu) is doing recently form what I see on her new tv show. Why is she trying to change (so drastically) from what people like her for? On her show she keeps mentioning how great her second album was (and it was, it's my favorite album from her) yet she is changing far from what she brought us with that album (Never Say Never) or even her first album which was hott. I understand your opinion, but I just really feel beyonce is like used up paper.
I don't mean to say it in a cruel way, but it's like she keeps popping up everywhere and I think she needs to take a relaxer for a minute.
MJ even took breaks between making music.
but what im just saying is I know she loves her music, but it wouldn't hurt to step back and let new talent rise thats all. She's already rich!
