Now... if I wear the little princess costume... I think you would be scared. The UPS folks BREAK EVERYTHING. My UPS guy is very friendly... nothing against him! I hate junior whores! Unless they have paperwork proving they are 18 or older.
I think we appreciate the scary aspect of Halloween more as grownups vs. kids with parents. As parents we don't want to deal with kids being scared out of their - well you get the picture.
I've been guilty of dressing my son as Thomas the tank engine. But we were going for the cute factor not scary. Forgive me :/
I'll tell you what's scary - the parents who buy those stripper kiddie costumes! Scarier though would be a child asking his parents if he could be a UPS delivery guy for halloween! LOL
Hahaha, great commentary! It's true the postman might go postal, but the UPS guy just brings packages, and that just doesn't seem too darn scary. What's scary, any time of the year, is the Burger King, that guy gives me nightmares! Brrrrr. And Ned Flanders, because he looks like me lol! Very funny video, Van, and,er Happy Halloween! :)
I am soooo with you on this! Princesses scare me but for other reasons. Many parents must have their head up somewhere dark. I see grade school girls coming to school that looks seductive at best and like a little ho at worst.
I vote for handmade costumes. May the best sheet win!
Ok I'm right there with you on the UPS guy, what is up with that? I mean seriously. But I can understand the superheros and sometimes the princesses because that is what kids want to be when they are little.
So I'm assuming you aren't a fan of women dressing up as Star Brite or like Prince Diana. That is what we get out here a lot in Hollyweird.
My nephew's girlfriend dresses in those hooker costumes and I'm like...why? WHY!? But yeah, I bet if I had her body, I'd do the same damned thing. But yeah, the UPS dude?
The only "brown" I want to see on Halloween is CHOCOLATE BARS.
The postie costume might be fun, though, if you sewed on a plush dog "biting" the butt end of the mailman's pants? Nah, that would be better for someone dressed as an I.R.S. agent.
Junior whore section - lol I remember when my son was young he was even scared of his own costume, wouldn't put the mask on for nothing. I guess that's why little ones wear "cutesy" outfits, they are too afraid of the monster looking ones.
I totally agree...costumes should be scary. When I was growing up the fun part of Halloween was to make your own scary costume. It's the lack of creativity nowadays.
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! I totally agree...pretty princesses...not so scary. I hate the little girl whore costumes!!! Who is producing them and WHY OH WHY do parents buy them?!?!?
I love your videos. You are too funny. The teenage-ish kids that carry pillow-cases, look like they don't give a sh--, and roll their eyes and say trick-or-treat in the most lethargic way, really scare me!
Van I agree with dressing your children up as little whores.. My daughter lets my grand wear bikinis with less fabric than a band aid and she thinks it is cute when older guys try to talk to her. Pisses me off big time..
I dunno, given the level of customer service offered by UPS, I do find them scary, but that's just me... I laughed until you got to the junior whore remark. It's so true. Now THAT'S scary to me, that parents approve of such schlock! And creepy. Funny, I'm okay with super heroes and stuff but personally vote for home made costumes. I loved wieh a kid has worked hard on a costume and is proud of it, ya know?
Van, honey. I'm with you all the way here. IAnd I think that if anyone had tried to make me wear some lame ass UPS costume, I'd have killed myself. BORING! I want witches, and vampires, and ghosts, Frankenstein, the Wolfman, and well, a righteous serial killer or two just to balance things out. And sluttin up the little girls in those sexpot costumes is just sick and stupid, in my opinion. And I hate those damn, pimping little girl beauty pagents, too. Idiot parents! Damn! Hugs :-)
Welllll ***said in a Mary Tyler Moore voice*** When I dressed up as Charlie Chaplin I won a bunch of contests and money lol I think what was so scary was how much I looked like him!
Halloween has become, "be what or who you want to be for one day"...so...I guess anything for a buck for party shops...however, the UPS guy?? You mean a little kid WANTS to be the UPS man?? Really?? Now I'm disturbed...LOL

But pigeons scare me, so things in scary outfits do wonders for my nerves. I stay inside, lock the doors and blinds, and turn the lights off!
