Sanshou is very effective and it comes from kung fu. it involves full contact kickboxing along with wrestling takedowns, throws, and sweeps. Cung Le used it in mma as well.
Aikido is garbage. Kung fu is garbage. Ninjitsu is garbage. 10th Planet Purple belts can mop up any degree of their black belts. And that's being generous. There's probably white belts that could manage it as well.
You're just not humble enough to admit that you've spent a decade training in an art as worthless as ballet.
@lionheartinfidel You forget that there are different types of kung-fu. When something is turned into a sport it must be diluted with rules that protect the safety of the participants.
In other words, kung-fu is supposed to be the art of killing but obviously we don't teach that anymore.
@lionheartinfidel Well to me a lot of your million variations of jiu-jitsu are shit too. Truth is sport martial arts are more applicable than traditional martial arts but are still in now way even remotely similar to a real fight. It's like the MMA guys who say "MMA is like real fighting EXCEPT headbuts, biting, small joint manipulation, low blows, shots to the back of the head, kicks to a downed opponent..." So in a real fight I wouldn't pick the BJJ guy OR the Karate guy tbh
@DestroyerAlexandros Thank you, great points! It also varies on the practitioner. I know a guy who does bjj who's gotten into fights with multiple people and snapped arms like nothing cause he just doesn't care. I also had a friend who does kung fu who's plowed through people just because he's short, fast, explosive and crazy accurate.
@lionheartinfidel All I gotta say is lol, your full of shit. haha, have a nice day man, and keep on hating and dissing martial arts you don't think deserve any respect. haha, who's going to listen to a guy who craps on martial arts more than ten times his age, hahahaha
LOL you think so ! I teach kung fu and kali as my mains. I do have a apreciation for mma but it is NOT for street fighting. No ring, judges, reffs, gear, corner telling you what to do, doctors waiting on side, RULES, no worries about others jumping in, or weapons. Not many mma guys wanna run into a kali practioner with a blade in thier hands on the street and if you think otherwise you obviously have no street exp.
@okcsifu well if we are playing what ifs then i guarantee you your kali practioner with his blade wouldnt be shit against me from 4 feet away with my smith and wesson .40 compact
@Alexgdmatthew well if you knew anything one the subject of kali you would know ,we train firearms also. And not just in our backyard shootn chickens, lol.
@okcsifu no, if a person trains aikido their whole life and he attacks jiu jitsu or mma guy he's gonna get smashed, aikido kung fu and all that shit is good for the movies
@LazaCDS Depends on the circumstances. Someone who's trained in Aikido their whole lives would probably take out a novice mma practitioner just based on their more refined reflexes and physical conditioning. Assuming that everything (experience, size etc) is the same, you'd be right of course. plus it never hurts to train in as many disciplines as possible, as long as you know what's going to work the best for what you want to do.
@LazaCDS lol yeah they really don't, a person might know jiujitsu but if you don't get a chance to take the person down than what? He might be a bad ass boxer and defends well to take downs than what? Styles really dont matter it is how they use them to their advantage
I hate when people say "Kung Fu? Please, it aint nothing Compared to BJJ, or MMA for that matter" Yeah No shit, in MMA and BJJ you train solely on the skills and Physical fitness, Kung Fu practitioners arent looking for that, they broaden their minds fars more than just their fists. Thats why nobody has killed kung-Fu, just because it doesnt work good in combat sports doesnt mean its dead, Kung-Fu will forever be one of the greatest Martial Art Styles ever.
@MustacheStashCash Sounds like a douche bag in denial. If it doesn't work then why learn it? If I want to broaden my mind I'll take a philosophy course in college. If I want to learn how to defend myself I'll learn BJJ BECAUSE IT WORKS. And who says BJJ doesn't offer you an intellectual challenge? There's a reason they call BJJ human chess,
Lol that was a joke by the way .... But he should show respect just coz it ain't in the UFC doesn't mean it should be ridden off that's just plain old typical egotistical talk
Why don't we all respect each other so the overall art grows and evolves and support each other instead of all the "joking" and put downs. When we turn to insults, even if they are veiled as joking, we diminish ourselves and all martial arts. Didn't mean to get too preachy guys. Thanks for your patience and God bless...keep practicing!!
All "joking" aside; I have always had a great deal of respect for Submissions 101. Bottom line though, Kung Fu is not dead and no "truth" killed it. True, real kung fu may not be a great competition art (and that's coming from a kung fu practitioner) but that's ok because it's not trying to be. The early UFC bouts only proved that cocky, unprepared, and all around bad kung fu fighters entered the ring. UFC is a good sport and BJJ is a respectable style, yet neither have complete "truth"
@demblackfeet Sorry no. The "crap don't work" when you don't do the harden-conditioning that most Americans refuse to do (Not dissing Americans, I am one, just truth). Kung Fu isn't the same shit thats in Jackie Chan movies. Thats "cinematic kung fu". Real kung fu is much less visually appealing as it ends confrontations much quicker and dirtier I might add. The movements are much quicker and it not executed so wildly.
@sstrunks8000 So...I don't think a martial art that has been around for that long (the one that all of your martial arts stemmed from, including your Muay Thai and BJJ) has suddenly become crap. Unsuccessful troll is unsuccessful. Look into it a little bit more before you knock it.
@sstrunks8000 just a joke....i love kung fu...i do traditional shotokan karate...S.K.I.F. kanazawa is head of our karate...and i am also taking gracie jiu jitsu...i am a blue belt in both arts right now
WING CHUN peeps will make the mistake of continual linear punching after the crossing the bridge BECAUSE they are working w/ ONLY half the complete art. THE BETTER THE MONK the quicker & less moves he requires 2 transfer 2 tai chi pushing hands wrestling & 2 Chin Na submissions. chain punches R only 2 reconnect the bridge (when U punch @ someone's face, THEY NATURALLY GRAB BACK). YOU MUST SHIFT & MOVE WHILE COVERING/ COUNTERING LEADING 2 PUSH HANDS.
The ORIGINAL Shaolin monks (prior to being burned down), is 1) WING CHUN (boxing) 2) Tai chi pushing hands (wrestling) 3. Chin na (submissions).
if you look into the theories / principles of WC, you will see that 95% of all MMA knockouts REFLECT WING CHUN THEORIES.
Wing Chun & Muay Thai are, practically, identical when it comes to theory and real application. REAL WC DOES NOT LOOK LIKE A MOVIE BUT A MUAY THAI FIGHT (HUMAN SHIELDS, LOW LEG KICKS, ELBOWS, SIMULTANEOUS STRIKE/ SHIELDING)
@newerest1 - Sorry champ, I dont kiss and tell. I also dont argue much with people who dont understand the difference between 'Where' and 'Were'. Btw - I train my kicks on sandbags, and 4" diameter metal poles. You? Silva? Didnt think so. BARE Fist conditioned on wall mounted sandbags & a hanging bag filled w/ metal bb's. You? Silva? Didnt think so. Soft gloves and typical soft heavy bag Im sure. MMA Sport = severely Watered down versions of the father arts.
@xiaou2 You're full of shit. I don't care how you condition your shins by kicking metal poles, lol. I guarantee silva has harder shins than you. I personally kick trees. Why exactly does kicking metal poles condition you better for kicking shins? Wouldn't kicking shins repeatedly be better?
So you cannot supply the professional mma fighters records because you are full of it. Either they never actually fought, have shitty losing records, or it never happened. lol
@newerest1 - u dont. & I dont care how tough his shins are. Id stop him at the knee, groin, hip..etc, well before he could launch his useless snail slow MT round kick. Clashing shins is pure stupidity. I condition the bottom of my FOOT & entire structure, 2b able2 deliver more power. No soft cushy bags. Solid impact that does not Move away or give much at all. Thats realistic training. Taping your fist, wrist, & gloves on? = unrealistic training.
@xiaou2 I don't? I don't live in kingwood, texas and go out to the trees in the forest and kick them? Yeah, you don't know me. I do. My name is john malbrough and my record is 2-3. See how I did that? I added reputation to my part in the discussion. Now what were the records of the fighter who possessed a "slow, snail" kick?
@newerest1 - Your Rep means nothing to me. Neither does the supposed top level TV fighters, whos kicks Are slow & predictable (telegraphed). They are pretty much all 'visibly' a joke, with lackluster, imprecise, & imperfect techniques. (watch joe rogan trying to teach GSP a kick, its comical) Ive learned (& sparred) from ppl who do have precise, fast, balanced, and perfected technique.. so I know very well the difference. You obviously have not, and do not. Rep means squat, as do most 'belts'.
@xiaou2 Oh really? GSP has done karate almost all of his life. Joe Rogan is a world renowned tae kwon do competitor. They would kick your ass silly. Lol this is hilarious, belts records mean nothing. You've never trained with pro mma fighters. Never. "No no i dont kiss and tell" yeah sure. you ever done any muay thai fights then? you must have for you to have such serious opinions on kicks
Oh, God-no.someone's wrong on the internet again. :} I like kicking, boxing and grappling. All the fancy moves I have in my arsenal are kicks, and eddie bravo moves! *lol!* And that is awesome kung fu, to me! People must choose what style they like best, it's as simple as that. Peace! :3
Chinese Wing Chun Kung Fu is the ultimate martial art. Chain-Punching an opponent in the throat, while stomping their knee ligaments should be allowed in UFC. Only, then we will see Kung Fu (the only NO RULES combat sport) in UFC.
@JasonRushRochon We saw Kung Fu (including Wing Chun) in the UFC, back when the UFC had (guess what) NOT A SINGLE FUCKING RULE!!! Now go watch the first 10 UFCs.
@JasonRushRochon All of that was legal in the UFC a few years ago. However, it has never, ever been legal in Kung Fu competition.
There are still MMA organizations which are completely no-rules, like the early UFC. Kung Fu is not seen there because Kung Fu people are not good at punching, kicking, takedowns, grappling, they just aren't good in any area of fighting. Period.
Oh and kicking the knee is still legal. It doesn't work like in the movies though. It has happened many, many times.
@Ljenkins9000 - Up until something like the 1900s there were matches fought to the death, in china. No rules. There are some Excellent Kung Fu artists out there, but they dont play games. If they are attacked however, they will take lives with ease. Kikcing the knee works, when you know how to do it, & train it properly. I wouldnt expect u 2 know that though. Ur way 2 ignorant.
@xiaou2 kicking the knee is totally legal in cage fights. it hasn't been used to break someone's leg, a good opponent will not stand still and get kicked in the knee....he'll atleast try to check that shit
@newerest1 - I know whats legal & whats not. Ive fought MMA guys plenty, and tell you what... when I wanted to land my knee kick, it landed. Theres a huge difference between those who try something they dont have a clue about..and some1 who trains a tech to perfection. Of course, its more than just the kick, its how & when to use it. Again, boils down to proper training. When ppl figure it out, & knee injuries skyrocket, the tech will b banned, like the other 40 banned techs.
@xiaou2 And did you damage him with it? Doubt it. Anderson silva uses it effectively. You make it seem like it's just waiting for some kung fu master to come in and break everyone's knee cap. Hell silva uses it to damage patrick cote's knee...
@newerest1 - A fighter that disrespected me, got a small taste of it. The round lasted less than 2 seconds. He took one step at me, & I stomp kicked his knee with less than 15% of my full power potentials. The man was nearly 2x my mass, had many trophies in full contact victories, went down like a sack of potatoes. Stayed down crying in tears for 5min. The damage took him over a month to fully recover from. I felt bad of course, but he did ask for it.
@xiaou2 And since you've fought so many MMA guys, what are their names and professional records? Why don't you step into the cage and make money kicking ass?
@xiaou2 "Up until something like the 1900s there were matches fought to the death, in china."
I would love to see some actual hard evidence (death certificates saying cause of death was a no-rules martial arts tournament, etc.). In reality, none of this shit happened. The competitions which actually took place had heavy rule sets in place, similar to what you see in Kung Fu today. Do you have any reason to believe these stories other than you instructor told you so?
@Ljenkins9000 Dude, there are no, no rules martial arts completions except in Japan and they ARE to the death, and run by yakuza, and it is real, trust me, I was propositioned in my 20's to enter 100,000 yen for the winner, and no you don't want to know the truth about them because you will probably be dead too, or a puppet for the yakuza either way its a no win proposition. They have sword fights to the death too. That really is the only way to see if your training is real or not.
"Dude, there are no, no rules martial arts completions except in Japan and they ARE to the death, and run by yakuza, and it is real, trust me"
"They have sword fights to the death too"
You know I have this really sweet bridge I've been trying to sell. Super cheap. To get across if you can't pay the toll, you have to fight Santa Claus with a wooden stick. The paper work should be here any minute. I'll email you a copy. Sign and send back immediately (cashier's check please). No refunds btw.
@JeffreyJamesLippold "I was propositioned in my 20's to enter 100,000 yen for the winner, and no you don't want to know the truth about them because you will probably be dead too" lol is this serious? no one here believes you, lol. this is ridiculous. hahahaha
@newerest1 That is my point, the whole argument is asinine, the only proof is in the pudding. Since there are no, no rules tournaments. Which is a good thing. Is it the Art, the practitioner, or the rules. One can never say for sure.
@JJ coward Lippold: Seriously JJ? Leaving posts on peoples pages yet you block comments on your profile? You really are the coward that the military community knows you to be. Seriously. Since you chose to poke my profile again, I give you another option to come to the place that exposed you for the fraud that you are, to clear your name. We know that you cannot, and will not; but it is fun to see a coward and fraud such as yourself in action.
@xiaou2 "There are some Excellent Kung Fu artists out there, but they dont play games"
Not really. They don't "play games" (like testing themselves by actually fighting) because all the Kung Fu people who did that got curb stomped hard in no-rules matches. Then the excuses began.
@Ljenkins9000 - No. What u saw was a joke in all counts. The one WC guy didnt even have proper rooting or guard. The most basic thing in proper KF, & couldnt handle that. The good guys wouldnt bother with that Joke of a sport... and to date, I dont think Ive heard a Single MMA player actually challenging someone who actually has true experience. The artists who have met & played w/ the real KF guys, have nothin but respect 4 them, and know how dangerous of men they really are.
@xiaou2 "No. What u saw was a joke in all counts. The one WC guy didnt even have proper rooting or guard."
Every single Wing Chun person who has ever fought has gotten the absolute piss beaten out of them so bad, nobody takes them seriously anymore. If you could give me one actual example, and no more BS excuses, I might believe you.
@Ljenkins9000 Bruce lee, but he crossed trained with Wally Jay Ju-jutsu, and Judo Gene Lebelle the true Grandfather of MMA, so that's the exception not a rule. It was designed for women and the finger jab and groing kicks are the strength of the system so it's stupid to say it doesn't work, it's just not MMA style. I mean all anyone has to see is Brandon Veras finger jabs to see it's an instant fight stopper..Lol Oops sorry Brandon " The Truth hurts" Vera.
@JeffreyJamesLippold "It was designed for women and the finger jab and groing kicks are the strength of the system"
That makes no sense. Why would anyone train in an art which is all about finger jabs and groin strikes? Oh and if it did work that well, then the Wing Chun guys wouldn't have all been KO'd back in the days of no rules. I don't think this is true though. No Wing Chun system ever allows it's students to gouge eyes in sparring, so I don't see how they can be any better at it.
Most of Kungfu was killed by the Chinese govts 'Cultural Revolution'... where they killed anyone doing martial arts by use of massive armies of forces.. and even paid some Kungfu systems practitioners to kill others off. Tons of knowledge lost, and what did survive was mostly trained behind closed doors in secret. Much which never really made it to the west, till Bruce Lee made a big splash.Karate schools dominated by popularity,& everyone thought it was all the same stuff.
@y2taner That's not Kung Fu, Lyoto Machida has a background in Shotokan Karate and Sumo. That said, he's also well versed in Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (black belt), boxing, and wrestling. Most of the aura surrounding Kung Fu is myth, nothing more. Bruce Lee was so impressive because he was a damn good fighter. The system is less important, that said some are definitely better than others. If you want to strike, do muay Thai.
@Nater245689 - Actually, Ive seen a clip of Lyoto doing some Wing Chun kungfu moves. It turns out that the style of Karate he learned, liked the stuff they saw in WC, and added it to their system. I can tell you 100% beyond a doubt, that the material in KF is no Myth. Its just that ignorant ppl like yourself think they know it all, when really, are just clueless as the next fool. As for Lee, Its clear u dont know him from ur words. Come back when u have read all his material, learned WC, etc.
@xiaou2 Sorry, I don't believe in fairly tales. You obviously don't know my about Bruce Lee, other wise you'd know that he felt that more rounded fighters were better fighters. Not ones that stuck to some semi-religious dogma. Hence he trained extensively in Judo and boxing. You don't see many debates among muay Thai fighters about who knows "real" MT, it just works. Everyone knows BJJ works. Everyone knows wrestling works. You don't see debates about the efficacy of those fighting systems.
@Nater245689 - I know a lot more than u. I have all his books, tons of documentarys, I learned WC & cross train in other arts. I know more about the stuff lee studied than u ever could. To quote Lee "I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.” Meaning, its not just how much you know, but how well adept you are at it.
@xiaou2 You sound like a religous person quoting from the Bible. I can tell you've not been in real fight. No system is perfect, but some are definitely better than others. The fact is that it's been objectively proven in actual fights. In the ring and on the street. How much Kung Fu is there in military combatives? How much is there in mixed martial arts? How much is there in kick boxing? Those are the questions that settle the argument.
@Nater245689 - For about 5yrs, I was sparring other martial artists from local schools on a regular basis. Usually guys nearly or over 2x my mass. I was 150lb 6ft tall. After the 3rd yr, I was making them all embarrassed & impressed. Most of these guys had an immediate attitude right off the bat seeing me in traditional uniform in their schools (and out), so felt the need to play full speed/full power to try to show I was inferior to what they did.
@Nater245689 - My old sifus top student was teaching military opps. The German special forces are trained in WC. They just started teaching Hong Kong flight attendants WC. I dont believe what Im told blindly. I went out there and tested the stuff, full contact, against every style, usually guys much larger & stronger w/ more yrs exp. Any failures turned out to be my own lackings. Not everyone does this, but my goals were based in reality, not fantasy or sport.
As for the rest, I can prove MT failing w/ a single kick the the nutsack when they round kick. Just as I can prove a boxers techs fail when I stomp kick their knee out b4 they can land a punch. Sure, nobody questions boxings training... because hey, its simple. But the real question is.. Does it work well in real combat? And the answer is no. Theres a lot of flaws in All of the arts you have listed. And there are better methods out there, that the stubborn like yourself havnt explored. Lee did
@xiaou2 All you guys that practice this drivel always go 'Well what if I did this when he does this'? You pay no attention to how people actually fight in real combat. In real fights, usually one person starts to get an advantage, or perceived advantage, and then gets taken down. Every single street fight I've seen has ended up on the ground. A grappler can force a striker on the ground, a striker cannot force a grappler to stand up unless he is very proficient at grappling as well.
@Nater245689 - And yet, to date, Ive knocked out 3 blackbelt grapplers before they could grasp me. The tricks that fool the beginners/lacking dont always work on the advanced artists. &to be clear, most all kungfu systems have grappling/takedowns/locks/throws..etc. in them. All ranges of combat are taught in entire KF systems. WC happened 2b a killing art4 rebels,reduced2essentials, so grappling is limited2temporary grasps ¬hing more.PPL that fall easily, r lacking in exp/skills.
@xiaou2 LOL I wish I saw this post. Knocked out 3 black belt grapplers? So you knew they were black belts before you fought them, can you post their names and phones numbers please? I would like to contact them. Surely since they respect you (after seeing your kf badass-ness) they would oblige. I don't see why not
@Rikk1825 - Wrong. Sanshou is watered down kungfu.. to the point of Being kickboxing. Best hit the books and learn what Real Kungfu is all about. Its not merely exercises. And done correctly, doent look like a kickboxing fest.
@xiaou2 You could be wrong too. You can't just have all the answers about a system that was created hundreds and hundreds ago but you can have theorys and mine is different that's all.
@Rikk1825 - All I can say is what Ive experienced. Its very possible that you are just being scammed. One KF guy showed me the exact moves from a form, live in sparring, under pressure, and pulled them off. He later explained how they worked. Therese a lot of trickery and strategy behind them. While Im sure theres some stuff that is merely exercise related in forms, most of the stuff is in there for combat reasons. You may try checking other teachers to see if the information compares.
@Rikk1825 - Wushu is the watered down form of KF that focuses on acrobatics / show. There may be some application in there, but most who teach Wushu dont know them & dont teach them. Only true Kungfu teachers would explain the applications. Sparring being after you have mastered the techniques, not before. Its not that you cant fight be sparring alone. But that the level of skill development will hit a limitation this way, because things happen 2fast2 be aware of any flaws/bad habits.
Royce killed ALL....Let's not forget, he was taking on ALL comers, back in the day when you fought more than one Fight in one night...Lots have been said about Rickson, but in my humble opinion, Royce has fought better and more Dangerous caliber Fighters....I think he Fighting History speaks for itself...Royce Killed Kung-Fu!
@ASSBANG6969 Bullshit. That jackass challenged Gene Lebell knowing he was in his mid-60's and wouldnt accept. So Gene Lebell presented Gokor, and Royce refused.
@ASSBANG6969 Bullshit. That jackass challenged Gene Lebell knowing he was in his mid-60's and wouldnt accept. So Gene Lebell presented Gokor, and Royce refused. Royce Gracie totally picked his fights. The original UFC's were about promoting his system.
@patrickhenrysghost I don't know what you are saying is true or not true, but Royce Record Speaks for itself. Gokor is a Great Wrestler. If Royce "Totally Picked" his fights then you are undermining the Fighters he's fought. You are implying he could EASILY win those fights. So the Fighters he fought were WIMPS? Take a time travel Via YouTube to the Early Ufc.....If he did "Totally" picked those fighters, then Royce has Big Balls, because those were some Tough MotherF""ckers.
@Fabolous206 UFC is MMA, which means mixed martial arts. He´s also talking about the gracie challenge, in which the best martial artist from taekwondo, karate, kung fu, etc challenged the gracie´s to a no-rules, no-time fight. The gracies beat the fuck out of every single one of them, look it up and learn. GRACIE CHALLENGE. BTW ufc fighters are the best martial artists, you are watching too much kung fu movies and are confused about what martial arts actually look like in a fight.
@94norbertoenrique Yeah because all those wannabes that fought Royce represent all of Karate, Kung Fu, etc..... You act like MMA is a style to end all styles. Jeet Kune Do has been around for more then 30 fuking years you idiot. You're the one that is watching too much TV u idiot so stfu and never reply to me again.....
@Fabolous206 What an inmature reply. Grow up. Just so you know Royce fought the best representatives of several martial arts (karate, tae kwon do, judo, hapkido, etc) and he beat them up. They were world champions in their respective art and got beaten up badly. BTW most UFC fighters hold a black belt, either in Jiu Jitsu, Karate (Lyoto Machida, GSP), Judo, etc. So my point is MMA MEANS MIXED MARTIAL ARTS, IT MIXES THE EFFECTIVE ONES LIKE, BJJ, WRESTRILNG, JUDO, BOXING, MUAY THAI AND KICKBOXING.
@94norbertoenrique really? world champions in karate, tae kwon do, judo and hapkido? i knew he beat some guys that gives lesson, never knew they were World champions.
@94norbertoenrique so just one world champion. The kung fu guy. When he fought a judo world champion (yoshida) he lost. Im not trying to be a hater. I love BJJ. but is not fair to say that gracies fought the best representatives of martial arts. I would not know what would happend if they fought a guy like shinjo sensei in a real fight. I know that probably i sound like a hater but in most of the things you said i agree.
@ASSBANG6969 The natural development of martial arts destroyed Kung Fu. If the idea of any martial art is to become the most complete fighting system it is only logical to assume that over a varying span of time every martial art in the world will adapt to become the same thing: the most complete martial art. In essence, we view this "complete martial art" as mixed martial arts. I think it's pretty clear that MMA has swallowed most other previously accepted combat styles.
@ASSBANG6969 Also, I think it's a tough bet between RIckson and Royce. On the one hand, Royce was fighting typically much larger and more aggressive opponents with a lot of striking backgrounds and very little knowledge of the ground game. On the other, Rickson was fighting under a promotion which was not entirely NHB, against opponents who were more appropriately sized and had at least some experience in grappling.
It's a tough call, but I think Royce had a harder time as well.
@AFKslashSLITTING Thanks for an intelligent response. I have deep respect for anyone that takes on all comers. Rickson ducked Sakuraba / Frank Shamrock / Bas Rutten....If you compare the Fighters Royce fought Vs the Fighters Rickson fought, Royce went to WAR, Rickson went to battle. Rickson has a record of 500 plus fight undefeated? That's hard to believe, but probably true, the caliber of fighters is questionable.
jiu jitsu is such a dominate aspect in ufc because its one effective and two can use most of its arsenal in a controlled manner hence the would submission, but in a combative form, you don't easy into an arm bar you rip that fucker off quick.also though it works well in ufc because of the rules.it a different aspect of training when thinking selfdefense.rule one don't go to the ground
Kung Fu, is such a wonderful art and yet nobody is allowed to use it in the UFC and today you don't see anybody with Ninjutsu as a background they've trained in.
@JordyBT it's not that they aren't allowed to use it, it's because it's not very effective against a mixed martial artist. No discipline is prohibited.
@mtb01 A lot of the moves are banned in the UFC. Small joint manipulation. Throat strikes of any kind, including, without limitation, grabbing the trachea. Grabbing the clavicle. Kicking to the kidney with the heel. Eye gouging of any kind. Butting with the head. Groin attacks of any kind. Punching an opponent in the neck, spine, or back of the head. Of course with the addition of death moves, such as a forward palm strike to the nose. Kung fu is not for sport, but defense.
@Jason66601 You really think they are all the same person?
Let's take a look: Some of them have subscribers, subscriptions, and different creation dates. Also you seem to reply to comments made on your nancy username. You have no life, and you know it. Again thank you for sharing your sad life and the reason you do "Yoga". If only it would help your brain where it is much needed
@Jason66601 the funny part is, you made it up while what I said is a fact. I'm a youtube staff, and threatening us is the last thing you'd want to do.
@Jason66601 According to the report filed on October 11, 2010, youtube staff said Jason66601's youtube account andnancy72100 came from the same IP location. Also the fact your username nancy72100 was created on the same day of being insulted by multiple people, further proves you made a sock account to help argue with yourself. You are all alone buddy.
@Jason66601 Sorry, but your lies have caught up, youtube pointed it out and one fo those accounts was already dropped. Besides it doesn't help when your IP was recorded. OOPS nice fuck up, ass hole
@xIegionx nope i didn't left you fucking fag , fucking thief , i mean what the fuck are you man , whats wrong with you , you need serious medical treatment man . your fucking sick . In this whole conversation you never mentioned about everything but martial art . Jesus , what a jerk .
@nancy72100 Thanks for your comments. NSA has monitored your comments and notified the appropriate authorities. Expect a visit from the your local Government intelligence agency in the very near future.
@EIvisMusic711 hahahahaha fucking muslim terrorist , go suck ur allahs dick & do guard with with Mohamed the fucking cunt . you fucking arab terrorist . fucking sand nigger .

@Jason66601 I've looked at the convo and you just spout nothing but hatred and arrogance. You bring no evidence and even if you were right you've lost all credibility due to how childish you are. Grow up son.
@Jason66601 Aha, raging I see. Crying like a little girl who doesn't get his way. No wonder everyone here hates you. You have no proof, no evidence. You just talk big. I worked with Eddie and Gracie.

You're just not humble enough to admit that you've spent a decade training in an art as worthless as ballet.
lionheartinfidel 2 months ago 8
@lionheartinfidel You forget that there are different types of kung-fu. When something is turned into a sport it must be diluted with rules that protect the safety of the participants.
In other words, kung-fu is supposed to be the art of killing but obviously we don't teach that anymore.
etagged 2 weeks ago
@lionheartinfidel Well to me a lot of your million variations of jiu-jitsu are shit too. Truth is sport martial arts are more applicable than traditional martial arts but are still in now way even remotely similar to a real fight. It's like the MMA guys who say "MMA is like real fighting EXCEPT headbuts, biting, small joint manipulation, low blows, shots to the back of the head, kicks to a downed opponent..." So in a real fight I wouldn't pick the BJJ guy OR the Karate guy tbh
DestroyerAlexandros 1 week ago
@DestroyerAlexandros Thank you, great points! It also varies on the practitioner. I know a guy who does bjj who's gotten into fights with multiple people and snapped arms like nothing cause he just doesn't care. I also had a friend who does kung fu who's plowed through people just because he's short, fast, explosive and crazy accurate.

MustacheStashCash 6 months ago
@MustacheStashCash Sounds like a douche bag in denial. If it doesn't work then why learn it? If I want to broaden my mind I'll take a philosophy course in college. If I want to learn how to defend myself I'll learn BJJ BECAUSE IT WORKS. And who says BJJ doesn't offer you an intellectual challenge? There's a reason they call BJJ human chess,

pistol975 6 months ago
All "joking" aside; I have always had a great deal of respect for Submissions 101. Bottom line though, Kung Fu is not dead and no "truth" killed it. True, real kung fu may not be a great competition art (and that's coming from a kung fu practitioner) but that's ok because it's not trying to be. The early UFC bouts only proved that cocky, unprepared, and all around bad kung fu fighters entered the ring. UFC is a good sport and BJJ is a respectable style, yet neither have complete "truth"

YOU MUST SHIFT & MOVE WHILE COVERING/ COUNTERING LEADING 2 PUSH HANDS.
novanine9 7 months ago
Curren Shaolin is NOT REAL - Acrobatic Wushu - Tourist Trap. THE REAL SHAOLIN WAS BURNED DOWN BY THE MANCHURIANS LONG AGO.
If U want to learn the original Shaolin: 1) Wing Chun (boxing / stand up) . 2) Tai Chi pushing hands (wrestling). 3) Chin Na (submissions).
* THE BETTER THE MONK...THE FASTER / LESS MOVES HE NEEDS TO TRANSITION FROM WC - CROSSING THE BRIDGE TO TAI CHI WRESTLING & TO CHIN NA SUBMISSIONS.
Most WC will CONTINUE 2 punch WHEN they should move to push hands & 2 Chin na sub
novanine9 7 months ago

MMA Sport = severely Watered down versions of the father arts.
xiaou2 8 months ago
@xiaou2 You're full of shit. I don't care how you condition your shins by kicking metal poles, lol. I guarantee silva has harder shins than you. I personally kick trees. Why exactly does kicking metal poles condition you better for kicking shins? Wouldn't kicking shins repeatedly be better?
So you cannot supply the professional mma fighters records because you are full of it. Either they never actually fought, have shitty losing records, or it never happened. lol
newerest1 8 months ago
@newerest1 - u dont. & I dont care how tough his shins are. Id stop him at the knee, groin, hip..etc, well before he could launch his useless snail slow MT round kick. Clashing shins is pure stupidity. I condition the bottom of my FOOT & entire structure, 2b able2 deliver more power. No soft cushy bags. Solid impact that does not Move away or give much at all. Thats realistic training. Taping your fist, wrist, & gloves on? = unrealistic training.
xiaou2 8 months ago
@xiaou2 I don't? I don't live in kingwood, texas and go out to the trees in the forest and kick them? Yeah, you don't know me. I do. My name is john malbrough and my record is 2-3. See how I did that? I added reputation to my part in the discussion. Now what were the records of the fighter who possessed a "slow, snail" kick?
newerest1 8 months ago
@newerest1 - Your Rep means nothing to me. Neither does the supposed top level TV fighters, whos kicks Are slow & predictable (telegraphed). They are pretty much all 'visibly' a joke, with lackluster, imprecise, & imperfect techniques. (watch joe rogan trying to teach GSP a kick, its comical) Ive learned (& sparred) from ppl who do have precise, fast, balanced, and perfected technique.. so I know very well the difference. @Ljenkins9000 KungFu is too dangerous to be in the UFC, striking the backs of heads, kicking knee joints inward, etc.
Watered-down any martial art, is refined ineffectively . . .
JasonRushRochon 8 months ago
@JasonRushRochon All of that was legal in the UFC a few years ago. However, it has never, ever been legal in Kung Fu competition.
There are still MMA organizations which are completely no-rules, like the early UFC. Kung Fu is not seen there because Kung Fu people are not good at punching, kicking, takedowns, grappling, they just aren't good in any area of fighting. Period.
Oh and kicking the knee is still legal. It doesn't work like in the movies though. It has happened many, many times.
Ljenkins9000 8 months ago
@Ljenkins9000 - Up until something like the 1900s there were matches fought to the death, in china. No rules. There are some Excellent Kung Fu artists out there, but they dont play games. If they are attacked however, they will take lives with ease. Kikcing the knee works, when you know how to do it, & train it properly. I wouldnt expect u 2 know that though. Ur way 2 ignorant.
xiaou2 8 months ago
@xiaou2 kicking the knee is totally legal in cage fights. it hasn't been used to break someone's leg, a good opponent will not stand still and get kicked in the knee....he'll atleast try to check that shit
newerest1 8 months ago
@newerest1 - I know whats legal & whats not. Ive fought MMA guys plenty, and tell you what... when I wanted to land my knee kick, it landed. Theres a huge difference between those who try something they dont have a clue about..and some1 who trains a tech to perfection. Of course, its more than just the kick, its how & when to use it. Again, boils down to proper training. When ppl figure it out, & knee injuries skyrocket, the tech will b banned, like the other 40 banned techs.
xiaou2 8 months ago
@xiaou2 And did you damage him with it? Doubt it. Anderson silva uses it effectively. You make it seem like it's just waiting for some kung fu master to come in and break everyone's knee cap. Hell silva uses it to damage patrick cote's knee...
newerest1 8 months ago
@newerest1 - A fighter that disrespected me, got a small taste of it. The round lasted less than 2 seconds. The man was nearly 2x my mass, had many trophies in full contact victories, went down like a sack of potatoes. Stayed down crying in tears for 5min. The damage took him over a month to fully recover from. I felt bad of course, but he did ask for it.

@Ljenkins9000 Bruce lee, but he crossed trained with Wally Jay Ju-jutsu, and Judo Gene Lebelle the true Grandfather of MMA, so that's the exception not a rule. It was designed for women and the finger jab and groing kicks are the strength of the system so it's stupid to say it doesn't work, it's just not MMA style. I mean all anyone has to see is Brandon Veras finger jabs to see it's an instant fight stopper..Lol Oops sorry Brandon " The Truth hurts" Vera.
JeffreyJamesLippold 8 months ago
@JeffreyJamesLippold "It was designed for women and the finger jab and groing kicks are the strength of the system"
That makes no sense. Why would anyone train in an art which is all about finger jabs and groin strikes? Oh and if it did work that well, then the Wing Chun guys wouldn't have all been KO'd back in the days of no rules. I don't think this is true though. No Wing Chun system ever allows it's students to gouge eyes in sparring, so I don't see how they can be any better at it.

chadthechamp1 8 months ago
Most of Kungfu was killed by the Chinese govts 'Cultural Revolution'... where they killed anyone doing martial arts by use of massive armies of forces.. and even paid some Kungfu systems practitioners to kill others off. Tons of knowledge lost, and what did survive was mostly trained behind closed doors in secret. Much which never really made it to the west, till Bruce Lee made a big splash.Karate schools dominated by popularity,& everyone thought it was all the same stuff.
xiaou2 8 months ago
it dosent matter who killed kung fu, all that matters is that lyoto and steve segal brought it back!
y2taner 8 months ago
@y2taner That's not Kung Fu, Lyoto Machida has a background in Shotokan Karate and Sumo. That said, he's also well versed in Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (black belt), boxing, and wrestling. Most of the aura surrounding Kung Fu is myth, nothing more. Bruce Lee was so impressive because he was a damn good fighter. The system is less important, that said some are definitely better than others. If you want to strike, do muay Thai.
Nater245689 8 months ago
@Nater245689 - Actually, Ive seen a clip of Lyoto doing some Wing Chun kungfu moves. It turns out that the style of Karate he learned, liked the stuff they saw in WC, and added it to their system. I can tell you 100% beyond a doubt, that the material in KF is no Myth. Its just that ignorant ppl like yourself think they know it all, when really, are just clueless as the next fool. As for Lee, Its clear u dont know him from ur words. Come back when u have read all his material, learned WC, etc.
xiaou2 8 months ago
@xiaou2 Sorry, I don't believe in fairly tales. You obviously don't know my about Bruce Lee, other wise you'd know that he felt that more rounded fighters were better fighters. Not ones that stuck to some semi-religious dogma. Hence he trained extensively in Judo and boxing. You don't see many debates among muay Thai fighters about who knows "real" MT, it just works. Everyone knows BJJ works. Everyone knows wrestling works. You don't see debates about the efficacy of those fighting systems.
Nater245689 8 months ago
@Nater245689 - I know a lot more than u. I have all his books, tons of documentarys, I learned WC & cross train in other arts. I know more about the stuff lee studied than u ever could. To quote Lee "I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.” Meaning, its not just how much you know, but how well adept you are at it.
xiaou2 8 months ago
@xiaou2 You sound like a religous person quoting from the Bible. I can tell you've not been in real fight. No system is perfect, but some are definitely better than others. The fact is that it's been objectively proven in actual fights. In the ring and on the street. How much Kung Fu is there in military combatives? How much is there in mixed martial arts? How much is there in kick boxing? Those are the questions that settle the argument.
Nater245689 8 months ago
@Nater245689 - For about 5yrs, I was sparring other martial artists from local schools on a regular basis. Usually guys nearly or over 2x my mass. I was 150lb 6ft tall. After the 3rd yr, I was making them all embarrassed & impressed. Most of these guys had an immediate attitude right off the bat seeing me in traditional uniform in their schools (and out), so felt the need to play full speed/full power to try to show I was inferior to what they did.
xiaou2 8 months ago
@Nater245689 - My old sifus top student was teaching military opps. The German special forces are trained in WC. They just started teaching Hong Kong flight attendants WC. I dont believe what Im told blindly. I went out there and tested the stuff, full contact, against every style, usually guys much larger & stronger w/ more yrs exp. Any failures turned out to be my own lackings. Not everyone does this, but my goals were based in reality, not fantasy or sport.
xiaou2 8 months ago
As for the rest, I can prove MT failing w/ a single kick the the nutsack when they round kick. Just as I can prove a boxers techs fail when I stomp kick their knee out b4 they can land a punch. Sure, nobody questions boxings training... because hey, its simple. But the real question is.. Does it work well in real combat? And the answer is no. Theres a lot of flaws in All of the arts you have listed. And there are better methods out there, that the stubborn like yourself havnt explored. Lee did
xiaou2 8 months ago
@xiaou2 All you guys that practice this drivel always go 'Well what if I did this when he does this'? You pay no attention to how people actually fight in real combat. In real fights, usually one person starts to get an advantage, or perceived advantage, and then gets taken down. Every single street fight I've seen has ended up on the ground. A grappler can force a striker on the ground, a striker cannot force a grappler to stand up unless he is very proficient at grappling as well.
Nater245689 8 months ago
@Nater245689 - And yet, to date, Ive knocked out 3 blackbelt grapplers before they could grasp me. The tricks that fool the beginners/lacking dont always work on the advanced artists. &to be clear, most all kungfu systems have grappling/takedowns/locks/throws..etc. in them. All ranges of combat are taught in entire KF systems. WC happened 2b a killing art4 rebels,reduced2essentials, so grappling is limited2temporary grasps ¬hing more.PPL that fall easily, r lacking in exp/skills.

Kung Fu forms are exercises meant to prep the body for combat, they're not "Fighting" techniques. That's a misconception created by Hollywood.
A real Kung Fu fight doesn't look that different form Kickboxing or Muay Thai.
Check out Sanshou on youtube.
Rikk1825 9 months ago
@Rikk1825 - Wrong. Sanshou is watered down kungfu.. to the point of Being kickboxing. Best hit the books and learn what Real Kungfu is all about. Its not merely exercises. And done correctly, doent look like a kickboxing fest.
xiaou2 8 months ago
@xiaou2 You could be wrong too. You can't just have all the answers about a system that was created hundreds and hundreds ago but you can have theorys and mine is different that's all.
Rikk1825 8 months ago
@Rikk1825 - All I can say is what Ive experienced. Its very possible that you are just being scammed. One KF guy showed me the exact moves from a form, live in sparring, under pressure, and pulled them off. He later explained how they worked. Therese a lot of trickery and strategy behind them. While Im sure theres some stuff that is merely exercise related in forms, most of the stuff is in there for combat reasons. You may try checking other teachers to see if the information compares.

@xiaou2 hmm... I hope I'm not being scammed. That would be like 6 years of my life.
We're just taught Wushu forms without the application and then spar just using Sanda.
Rikk1825 8 months ago

@ASSBANG6969 jaajjaja i agree man . royce is the man ufc 1 - 2 - 4 is the proof .
krisnnaabraham 10 months ago
@ASSBANG6969 Bullshit. That jackass challenged Gene Lebell knowing he was in his mid-60's and wouldnt accept. So Gene Lebell presented Gokor, and Royce refused.

@ASSBANG6969 Bullshit. That jackass challenged Gene Lebell knowing he was in his mid-60's and wouldnt accept. So Gene Lebell presented Gokor, and Royce refused. Royce Gracie totally picked his fights. The original UFC's were about promoting his system.
patrickhenrysghost 8 months ago
@patrickhenrysghost I don't know what you are saying is true or not true, but Royce Record Speaks for itself. Gokor is a Great Wrestler. If Royce "Totally Picked" his fights then you are undermining the Fighters he's fought. You are implying he could EASILY win those fights. So the Fighters he fought were WIMPS? Take a time travel Via YouTube to the Early Ufc.....If he did "Totally" picked those fighters, then Royce has Big Balls, because those were some Tough MotherF""ckers.
ASSBANG6969 8 months ago
@ASSBANG6969 You're an idiot, most people that do Kung-Fu or martial arts in general aren't trying to get into the UFC.
Fabolous206 6 months ago
@Fabolous206 UFC is MMA, which means mixed martial arts. He´s also talking about the gracie challenge, in which the best martial artist from taekwondo, karate, kung fu, etc challenged the gracie´s to a no-rules, no-time fight. The gracies beat the fuck out of every single one of them, look it up and learn. GRACIE CHALLENGE. BTW ufc fighters are the best martial artists, you are watching too much kung fu movies and are confused about what martial arts actually look like in a fight.
94norbertoenrique 5 months ago
@94norbertoenrique Yeah because all those wannabes that fought Royce represent all of Karate, Kung Fu, etc..... You act like MMA is a style to end all styles. Jeet Kune Do has been around for more then 30 fuking years you idiot. You're the one that is watching too much TV u idiot so stfu and never reply to me again.....
Fabolous206 5 months ago
94norbertoenrique 5 months ago
@94norbertoenrique really? world champions in karate, tae kwon do, judo and hapkido? i knew he beat some guys that gives lesson, never knew they were World champions.
Ariel1Dominguez 4 months ago
@Ariel1Dominguez the kung fu guy was a world champion, and the judo guy was the russian national champion.
94norbertoenrique 4 months ago
@94norbertoenrique so just one world champion. The kung fu guy. When he fought a judo world champion (yoshida) he lost. Im not trying to be a hater. I love BJJ. but is not fair to say that gracies fought the best representatives of martial arts. I would not know what would happend if they fought a guy like shinjo sensei in a real fight. I know that probably i sound like a hater but in most of the things you said i agree.
Ariel1Dominguez 4 months ago
@ASSBANG6969 The natural development of martial arts destroyed Kung Fu. If the idea of any martial art is to become the most complete fighting system it is only logical to assume that over a varying span of time every martial art in the world will adapt to become the same thing: the most complete martial art. In essence, we view this "complete martial art" as mixed martial arts. I think it's pretty clear that MMA has swallowed most other previously accepted combat styles.
AFKslashSLITTING 6 months ago
@ASSBANG6969 Also, I think it's a tough bet between RIckson and Royce. On the one hand, Royce was fighting typically much larger and more aggressive opponents with a lot of striking backgrounds and very little knowledge of the ground game. On the other, Rickson was fighting under a promotion which was not entirely NHB, against opponents who were more appropriately sized and had at least some experience in grappling.
It's a tough call, but I think Royce had a harder time as well.
AFKslashSLITTING 6 months ago
@AFKslashSLITTING Thanks for an intelligent response. I have deep respect for anyone that takes on all comers. Rickson ducked Sakuraba / Frank Shamrock / Bas Rutten....If you compare the Fighters Royce fought Vs the Fighters Rickson fought, Royce went to WAR, Rickson went to battle. Rickson has a record of 500 plus fight undefeated? That's hard to believe, but probably true, the caliber of fighters is questionable.

jiu jitsu is such a dominate aspect in ufc because its one effective and two can use most of its arsenal in a controlled manner hence the would submission, but in a combative form, you don't easy into an arm bar you rip that fucker off quick.also though it works well in ufc because of the rules.it a different aspect of training when thinking selfdefense.rule one don't go to the ground
tricirlin 10 months ago
Kung Fu, is such a wonderful art and yet nobody is allowed to use it in the UFC and today you don't see anybody with Ninjutsu as a background they've trained in.
JordyBT 11 months ago
@JordyBT it's not that they aren't allowed to use it, it's because it's not very effective against a mixed martial artist. No discipline is prohibited.

Let's take a look: Some of them have subscribers, subscriptions, and different creation dates. Also you seem to reply to comments made on your nancy username. You have no life, and you know it. Again thank you for sharing your sad life and the reason you do "Yoga". If only it would help your brain where it is much needed
