A muslim apologist accusing the Bible of being scientifically inaccurate? That's odd, if he would simply open up his own Koran, he would find that in one verse it states the earth was created in six days and in another verse it says it took eight days. So which is it?

this guy is trying to fit science of evolution with his faith. unfortunately for him he doesn't realize that science is always changing thus people of faith are changing there beliefs with it. the thought of the universe being created in periods is a relatively new one. I don't believe that god gave another revelation after the new testament, however he is wrong here. science is always changing and if your basing your belief with science then you need biblical grounding.

In the Strong's #3117 yowm (yome);

Can mean: an age, Time, continually (-ance), (for) ever (-lasting, -more), or perpetually.

2 Peter 3:8 says that one day with Jehovah is like a thousand years to us. it should also be noted that this is referring to Time ( as in The Earth Started Spinning) not for Man, Since Man Was Created on This Sixth Day. PBUT

why would it take an all powerful being 6 days to create the earth? He wasnt powerful enough to just poof it all instantly? and why did he need to rest afterwards?

the debate is actually about the word DAYS! days is based upon a 24 hour rotation of the earth around the sun. how could he make it in 6 days if he had no created the earth yet ?

Yeah I have heard from some scholars that in some of the older texts, "day" could have meant just "a period of time" not specified to just 24 hours. I guess hen we meet god when we die we'll find out it all.

god can create the universe in 6 days, 6 hours, 6 seconds, whatever he decides. Just because a bunch of scientists claim that it can't be done, doesn't make it so. I would venture to guess that many of those scientists will not acknowledge the possibilities of supernatural methods of creation.
