I just want to say that although you should defiantly keep your legs locked in an ariel, BEND YOUR KNEES WHEN YOU LAND. My friend suffered a serious injury landing a jump with a locked knee. expertvillage, thank you for these tips!!
Can someone please help me every single time i try to do an aerial my hand get in the way and i land on my but if i dont put my hands in the way even do i do cart wheels and 11 hand cart wheels every day i just cant get this move right someone please help me on how to do this trick because ive been trying to do this trick over a month now and even though ive looked over 10 tutorials and tips and when i do what they say it still doesn't work so can someone please tell me specifically how to do it
you did not explain the physics of why you are supposed to keep the leg straight. the leg should be straight because it increases the torque of the axis, the axis being your center of gravity. the more you leg weighs, and the faster you can accelerate it, the faster and higher you will be able to go.
you misunderstand me, what I mean is eventually I'd like to do this on a stage so my point was is it better to try this on the sort of solid floor rather then grass as the harder the floor the more resistance against the foot in the jump. And btw I have plenty of common sense, what you seem to lack is manners.
@blueduck99 Try it from the sidewalk into the grass or put a piece of plywood on the grass to jump off of. That or find a gymnastics gym and try it on plyo floor or on to mats. Never try anything you're unfamiliar with on hard floor. Good luck.
Is it a bad idea to practice this on the grass? Because I make the turn but I keep landing on my knees, hence not enought height in the jump. Do I need to try it on a hard floor?
yeah grass -> safe place where you wont get injured, hard floor -> the place where you'll have a high chance of breaking your knee, hmm, let see.. i dont know, MAYBE GRASS? damn man, lol, use your common sense
swing with ure right , so plant left , when i do gymnastique and i have to do cartwheel , i plant left so i can swing hard with my right, i'm also right footed, so u might try planting left, swingin right
yo i fail big time. I had a tornado kick and lost it due to learning how to chamber making me consciously think about kicking. My height sucks and looks like a normal taekwondo kick where as my one i developed before was HIGH HIGH. RIDICULOUSLY HIGH. Not just that i hit aerials during one practice, stopped for a day and they looked like bf kicks the next. xDDD trials and tribulations man.. If anyone types in taekwondo wonderland comes up LOL Waffles :D
He said something about having to split your legs as wide as you can so that your back leg can just follow. Does that mean we have to be able to do a center split before we can achieve an aerial cartwheel?
Someone please help me, I really want to learn this!!
no, all you need to do is kick over. go on a trampoline and practice toe touches or flash kicks (back flip with a kick) so you can keep your legs locked like he talks about. but you needn't split farther than a cartwheel
no no if u listened to what he said. Yes being able to do a split would definitly help as far as getting the foot over faster, but hes saying get your first foot as far over and then once the other foot HAS TO LEAVE the ground bring it over. Its just so it looks nicer, if not itd look like some aerial sideflip type move like what i do xD
it takes time :) have patience with yourself - and don't pressure yourself friend. Everything comes in time - when you are ready for it. Not before, not later. ;)
@ Darius12235 ummmm....in the upper right hand corner (far right), just go to the arrow button and click on it for the entire series. If give you the entire series 1-15, but you also have the option to view in the order you choose. ;-)
I think what he means is that you don't want to bend your legs in the middle of the aerial, because it could throw you off balance. Also, when you land, even though your legs are straight in the air you want to let your knees bend very slightly, but only on the landing.
I have been trying this for months any tips?

your cartwheel and aerial arent vertical to the floor like they arent 90 degrees to the floor. just some advice.

I like the implicit assumption that there are people who know how to aerial but don't know what to do with their legs.

Oh ok, thanks. Sadly I don't have a trampoline ....... I can do toe touches without one though.
Shad0vvStalk3r 2 years ago 2
that should be fine, if you do any parkour then straddle vaults will be good conditioning too.
apart from that it's just jumping in the air high enough and lifting your chest enough to allow your legs to freely move over
hope that helps

Aerial sideflip? 0.o What's that? Sounds cooler than an aerial. lol. Thanks for the clarification though.

yes. Front tucks are surprisingly tricky in the beginning. Especially when compared to aerials or backtucks .

ok thanks but i am too scared to back tuck. :(

it isn't the trick aerial and frontflip are identitel from the hardness you have to look what's easier vor you

kira4747woo 2 years ago
it is kinda hard but when you get used to it its suer easy and i think you need to be flexible to do it
ldp0211 2 years ago 3
you dont need to be flexible, jus jump up, and do a cartwheel wit no hands....so easy!!!
iLoveRays13 2 years ago
this is actually really good.
most of the time i could do an aerial, its just that i keep putting my hands down, its so annoying. its like a reflex, i cant stop it haha
leiithhh29 2 years ago 6
dude i know what you mean.
sometimes i just stop practicing aerials and then going to something else to stop the reflex from happening.
