I had a GREAT Dad. Christmas was really fun. All day on Christmas Eve he would beg Mom to just let me open one gift early. She always gave iin iin the afternoon.

Daddy and I would decorate the tree together. I remember he used to hang the tinsel one strand at a time but when I was still pretty young he would let me and I always got tired of the one strand and just tossed handfuls on. I always thought our trees were beautiful.

My favorite Christmas present as a child was a book. This way I could shut myself up in my bedroom and try to lose myself in the story. It was the only way I could somewhat drown out my Dad's drunken rage. I have no memories of a happy holiday as a child.

I could sing this song in my sleep. We listened to it over and over and over when I was a kid. I really can't tell you why. I can see where it would be a sad song to alot of people but makes me think of happy times.
