@NoosesHigh The rack with what I normally run 24/7 runs around 550-600 watts which isnt that bad. My powerbill in none summer months where I don't have to run the A/C is a bit over $100/month even in expensive socal. The A/C is actually a lot more than the rack as it will use 5-8x more power although it doesn't run 24/7. During the summer my powerbill is closer to $250/month.
@lceus Heh. I didn't quite *need* the extra space when I originally bought 3TB drives but I really am glad I did as literally they went from $109 each to almost $300 within a few weeks of when I bought them. I bought them at the cheapest price they will be for quite some time.
