My Hometown where I still live, and by the way the last ever concert of Mike and the Mechanics with Paul Young, who died then one year later :( This concert was in 1999, I was 4 years old back then :(
Very nice indeed, but I assume that since I see no bassist or a 2nd keyboardist onstage (but I hear them), and I can see that Paul Carrack isn't playing the main keyboard parts & nobody is playing bass pedals, and since the drummer is playing with closed headphones, he's hearing a click track to ensure that he keeps himself & the band playing with the obviously sequenced extra tracks. But it's still a great performance, no doubt.
these passages are from page #17 of The Companions of Jehu written by Alexandre Dumas pere--"Sir, I have heard speak of the Companions of Jesus," replied the magistrate with his jeering smile. "The Jesuits, you mean? That is not what I am seeking, sir."....Elisha consecrated Jehu King of Israel, on condition that he exterminate the house of Ahab; Elisha was Louis XVIII; Jehu was Cadoudal; the house of Ahab, the Revolution.
@volfreeme Yes it came out in 85 it was featured on Airwolf in 86. I thought it was around the mid 80's that I heard it. The tracks as you know was "Silent Running (On Dangerous Ground)." Incidentally the episode info are:
@fIRsTRATmAN The 1980s are gone only if you believe the 80's are gone BUT tunes like this shall always remain in our hearts.. “Pray to the father and the spirit.. don't believe what the Church and the State says..and everything they tell you, "I'm with the high command!"..always pray to God the father & the spirit.. (the true creator!")
... symbolizes a style of music that was saturated with synthesizer and keyboard sounds... as the guitar fell into the background as an accompanying instrument... howbeit there is a cool guitar solo... not guitar-based rock... sort of ushered in an era, or is a time-capsule of the guitar-less era.... the end of the guitar hero was upon us.....

Amazing performance all round. Exceptional vocal performance by Paul Carrack. Mike Rutherford is a legend, as is Paul Young (RIP).

Great stuff, there was some good music in the 80's sadly after the 90's pop music has gone downhill and now in the 2000's pop music is crap

@kaisercestmoi Prophetic words; Sons & Daughters will reclaim the heritage that
their immediate forebears squandered through deluded ommissions. Sons & Daughters will have to do this or perish in the new order.
