@okuma0kuma No moisture present if the tanks are filled with dry air to begin with, as mentioned above. They don't go in there with pre-filled tanks...they have compressors on-board. If there's no moisture going in, there's no moisture coming out.
@okuma0kuma what, because air is nonexistent at the south pole?
air is air, and pressure is pressure, regardless of the temperature. You just need more air molecules to get the same pressure at a lower temperature.
Also, cold air is relatively dry because water is less soluble in air at lower temps. therefore, there's little chance of any air condensation and freezing in the tires if they're already being filled with dry air.
i was just curious about 2 things as placing something like balloon in cold temperature would shrink but soon as temperature rise balloon expand meaning storing vehicle in warm section of a building/hanger could make a loud bang then there was curiosity of water particles crystallizing forming equivalent to sand texture which would grind tire layers from inside out of the tire ! ,who said anything about no air in the south pole ? lol
@okuma0kuma The point I was making is that you claim that you'd need anti-freezing foam to fill a tire in a place that's got plenty of air already at freezing temperature.
Ice isn't hard enough to damage tires unless you drop the tire on a sharp ice ledge. Crystals won't wear a tire down. If anything, the tire's flex would heat it up enough to melt the crystals as they touch it. You won't get ice crystals if you fill the tire with already-cold air. and the tires can take a lot of heat expansion
@okuma0kuma the compressor will warm the air, but its already cold air being drawn in, the water has been frozen off, and if it does get in, as long as the condensation on the inside of the tyre doesnt create iceblocks to unbalance the tyre - theres no issue.

Cool. So, transmission issue aside, it didn't look like it was too tough.
