  • I was like OH man, 2008 thats so close.... then i'm like oh wait it's 2012. I want my Augmented Reality classroom.

  • What happens if you smash your hand on the little people

  • HAHAHA i love when people of the past are wrong!!!

  • It looks absolutely silly and basic

  • This is 'The End of the World', folks, in case you haven't cracked that nut yet. No giant meteors or world catastrophies, just a Generation of Dehumanized, Imbicilic, Mind-Controlled Borg- Creatures who have lost all connection with the Humans of Old. They'll run right for it and you have to let them because they're gonners. They've decided to be.

  • @AdamVivaLeResistance Ya huh. And here you are, using a computer.

  • @yinge101 Yes, There's a difference between using a computer and 'becoming' a computer.

  • @AdamVivaLeResistance oh hush up and just go eat your organic food dumbass

  • @JEMacProductions Will do. Enjoy your global village, sheep.

  • 2008? Its nearly 2012 dumbarse

  • 1:03 You're seriously proud of that? Even less communication and binding than some parents already have? I thought it was awesome, but promoting that feature... Please think next time

  • PSVita!

  • i think AR is useless. At first looks awesome but at the same time very stupid and pointless.

  • @Shainkov Did you read or see more about AR? Or only this video? AR has many times more ways how to use it and it isn't definitely useless.

  • "We expect it to be widespread by the year 2008..."

2011: Where the hell is it? XD

  • She is kind a hot...

  • Augmented *snort* *snort*

  • please contact Vr Vending yolasite

  • This is going to be EVERYWHERE in the near-ish future.

  • I never asked for this.

  • The Best Augmented Reality You can get Is on The PlayStation Vita And the Vita Can Do this With or without Marks Also i see the Goggles she is Using Says Sony on the Side unlike Low Cheap ones Like on phones the PC or (Nintendo 3DS) on the PlayStation Vita it dont not lose the 3D Models

  • @SoujiroNagi Yeah but there's a problem with the Vita. The screen sucks. 640x480 is not a good resolution for a 5 inch display.

  • @Costerguy1234556 Lol oh yeah and can you tell me of a better resolution on a Hand Held Device ? clearly your ether a Hater on Sony or that you never even seen anything running on the PlayStation Vita Show me a Low Res Anything on that Hand Held Device ?

  • @SoujiroNagi Funny thing I like Sony but I just find it stupid they used a quad core CPU yet they used a screen with a lower resolution then most phones on the market.

  • @Costerguy1234556 The screen is a 5" OLED Screen everything i need on the PlayStation Vita Looks Alot better on any phone the 4 Core CPU is for the Cross Game Chat/PSP games/PS3 Games like Wipeout and so on it do Multitasking with games music and videos and what ever running AR and video chats i mean i find it very hard to say anything is wrong with the PSV the screen is Not even Bad what are you talking about...your the first i ever heard say the screen is bad...what do you see that looks bad?

  • @Costerguy1234556 :PlayStation Vita Specs: CPU: ARM® Cortex™- A9 core (4 core) GPU: SGX543MP4+ External Dimensions: Approx. 182.0 x 18.6 x 83.5mm (width x height x depth) (tentative, excludes largest projection) Screen (Touch Screen): 5 inches (16:9), 960 x 544, Approx. 16 million colors, OLED Multi touch screen (capacitive type) Rear Touch Pad: Multi touch pad (capacitive type) Cameras: Front camera, Rear camera Sound: Built-in stereo speakers Built-in microphone thats not all....
  • @Costerguy1234556 :PlayStation Vita Specs: Sensors: Six-axis motion sensing system (three-axis gyroscope, three-axis accelerometer), Three-axis electronic compass Location: Built-in GPS Wi-Fi location service support Wireless Communications: Mobile network connectivity (3G) IEEE 802.11b/g/n (n = 1x1)(Wi-Fi)(Infrastructure mode/Ad-hoc mode) Bluetooth® 2.1+EDR (A2DP/AVRCP/HSP) and already has a amazing lineup of games be at 26 at day one and will have 90+ in the first 6 months Your not a FAN

  • @Costerguy1234556 and it goes with out saying the amazing Lineup of games being 26 at day one and 90+ in the following 6months and can i say duel analogs? lol yeah show me a Smart phone on the market that has everything the Playstation Vita has and more and being under $300-$250 if no? then your clearly not a Fan of Sony seeing the first thing you said about the PlayStation Vita was false " The Screen Sucks being 640x480".....and im done....

  • @SoujiroNagi Ok sorry I just read an article about the specs on Tom's Hardware a mount ago. Glad they opted for a better screen. Ill stick with my Android tablet for now but I might consider the Vita later.

  • @Costerguy1234556 nah its all good

  • eyepet?

  • Perhaps this tech is being kept for governments only? Not seeing it become widespread. That we know about anyway....

  • the technology will change the way we see the world

  • Are you thinking, what I am thinking? Yes, how greater can this technology get if not to lead to perfect Porno-time. Can't wait till the release of 3D porno technology.

  • Then its going to be like, "Hey, come buy these AR glasses with a lithium 8billion battery. It has better resolution that real life!"

  • 2008? WHERE IS MY 3D PORN

  • i just stumbled on a page talking about this, never heared of it before.

but as soon as i saw this video i imediatly started to think, wow, the possibilitys in gaming, just imagine a horror game for example where the creaturs actually pops out from the screen. you might say, then why dont you just get 3d glasses?, well the thing is this isnt anything like 3d, and why not combine AR and 3D?.

  • that's very easy to implement actually

  • porn? PORN!

  • AR will be the only reason why i will put up with contacts

  • @PEZ1514 XD i want contacts with night vision, zoom, infrared, motion detection, 24/7 live steam, and now AR.

  • this should not be marketed towards kids. kids should not be watching tv. kids should not have facebook accounts or use the internet for that matter. Kids should be kids and rely on their imagination, play outside, play with other kids. fuck consumerism.

  • BLUE BEAM PROJECT THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING GUYS

  • Someday, if we overuse this technolagy, were gonna end up being the fat people from wall e, and when something goes wrong, well be too lazy to do anything. Im not saying this technolagy is bad for u, im just saying that if we overuse it, we'd be screwed.

  • @searcher5123 Well of course some people will overuse it, but some people overused books when that was the only thing we had. My mom got so in trouble with her mom for reading her life away in her room and not going outside to play, she was a book worm. They had no tv or radio at the time. Most people will use it just like we do tv now. Thing is, these glasses can go with you outside, so you aren't glued to the chair like with tv. Augmenting the city.

  • 2008? Fail

  • Augmented Reality has a lot of potential, I use uDecore on my iPhone, on the best AR apps

  • @RichGuiv AR for home decoration, not a bad idea, handy next time I am in IKEA

  • Love it!!! Augmented Reality (AR) is here to stay and is changing our lives! Also check out this company - DAQRI dot com - that is doing AR + QR...augmented reality with QR Codes!!!

  • I remember this show! why they stop making them??

  • 0:42 a surgeon could put super mario inside a patients heart.

  • JOHN MAYER done augmented reality. It was amazing. ♥

  • technology will permit us to embed those binocular thing into our retinas...

    someday

  • So what you guys are saying is that as far as I'm concerned the Nintendo 3DS was already made inferior four years ago? And I was certain technology was moving faster than this.

  • wtf man awesome technology but na i will stick to my super nintendo

  • Yay! One more reason for parents to let their child be babysat by a gadget.

God forbid a child looks at and interacts with his actual environment instead of through a set of 3D glasses or what's flashing on TV.

  • imagine pokemon or yugioh where you get to experiance the actuall battle

    I freckin love science

    Love you mother fuxers

  • thats how the 3ds ar cards work

  • como instalo el artoolkit?

  • i can only see right out of one fucking eye. them looking through 3d things are hardly helping

  • They need some interpolation to make this really good.

  • CARD GAMES IN HOLOGRAPHIC REALITY!!!

  • @Maxjoe2008 The Eye of Judgement?

  • next stop interactive hologrames

  • 2008 my butt!

  • I can do this with my 3DS :3

  • what about using those video glasses but mount a webcam on them so where ever you look it looks. That would be awesome

  • fuck yeah 3ds

  • we already have something like this its called a view finder!

  • This technology already looks dated. I can imagine people looking back in 10 years and going 'remember 'augmented reality'?' that shit was LAME!

  • jeez.. I mean.. What happened to the good old pop-up books?!?!?!

  • @recuerdosdelaalhambr one day, people will be saying "What happened to the good old holographic books?", when they have literature integrated neural implants lol.

  • 0:25 PLAYSTATION EYE TOY!!!

  • 2008? Its 2011 and i still havent seen these.

  • @flameroaster One word. 3DS. Well, that's not really a word, but.....Well the 3DS apparently has augmented reality in it

  • @flameroaster Check out ARToolKit or ARSights for some examples. Best Wishes

  • @cmMerlin Thx

  • @flameroaster or AR Showcase on the iPhone.

  • @csm0017 I dont have either.

  • @flameroaster

lolz.. its already on android phones which supports augmented reality..

  • @MSjellymuffin12 Well It's too bad I don't have an android...

  • @flameroaster Check out Nintendo 3DS. Minus the need of the goggles. BAM.

  • @Fiddlemaster56 Touche, Fiddlemaster56...

  • @Fiddlemaster56 Playstation Vita (just released today) can do it too.

  • @flameroaster Check out Eyepet for psp/ps3 or Invizimals for psp

  • @flameroaster 2008? I've seen this tech used in 1998.

  • @flameroaster there is AR in the 3ds

  • @flameroaster Its everywhere, 3DS, Phones like the nokia n8 and was also featured on the Gadget show to show the many different applications for it.

  • @flameroaster The nintendo 3DS and PSP can do it

  • Life cam has this. I got a Microsoft lifecam and it does it with no marks or paper.

  • i think it would be interesting to see this in gaming similar to Nintendo 3ds.

wonder if you can have the characters follow a symbol on your end so both the player and the character interact with each other rather then just the player interacting with these characters. example: soldiers shooting at you (following a symbol on your lenses) while you try and shoot them back. i believe that would be very interesting.

  • if kids are looking for a bedtime story, with the 3d glasses and book.

    1) i dont think they would stand and watch, then fall a sleep

    2) even if they do, they could pass out drop the glasses break it, then the parents will have to pay for another.

but hey the idea is probably gonna kickstart into something huge in 10years time

  • holy shit

  • Question: Are the shape cards only used so that the program knows where to put the images? Or is there more technology involved in the cards????

  • @WX5videos the card is literally just so that the programme knows where to put the images. you could use any painting and programme it so that when that painting is in the shot, you can see the image.

  • As the technology gets better and more affordable, it's going to cause all kinds of problems, such as not being able to recognize what's real from what's fake.

  • @robdmccoy That's true. It'll end up being like inception..

  • Anyone can use this. I use a softwear for my webcam called cyberlink youcam 4 deluxe. It is about $30 or $40 but its pretty cool. It is alittle slow though

  • That I Magic book is fantastic, I mean just imagine your children not having to even use their own imagination to enjoy a story. Why hasn't this been developed sooner! A generation of mindless children with no imagination is exactly what this world needs, bring it on i say!!!

  • This would be a cheap technology.

Exept for the epic camera you need to play it.

    But else?

    Its cheap.

Just some pieces of paper and some ink.

    And of course developement.

The camera would serve as a console. and the rest would just be like games.

I dont know how mutch a camera that can do that would cost.

But my hunch is that its about the price of a console now.

but if it would be augmented reality. Like. FPS. i'd buy.

  • @Jimpiedepimpie Actually, you are right, it's VERY inexpensive.. in fact the iPhone and Android can handle basic AR technology! You don't need an expensive camera or hardware. Want to make your own augmented reality projects? Check out ARToolKit.

  • @cmMerlin Nintendo 3ds TOO! :)

  • @XtremeEnigmaFan2 Fantastic! :)

  • @Jimpiedepimpie me too

  • yugio

  • PSP can do this

  • its 2011 wheres my 3d book?!

  • @dazzassj7 well,is the nintendo3DS an option for you?

  • @dazzassj7 lol, books are 3d since always. you should pick up one to see for yourself!

if you want a 3D page with letter floating arround so you won't be able to read properly, then i guess....you should take some shrooms before...

  • MAIS CEST GENIAL VERY GOOD VERY GOOD

    MDR

    SUPER SUPER

  • available in 2008! man I can't wait that long!!

  • @jabes88 LOL

  • ahhhh not bad ...

    so ... ww.youtube.com/watch?v=1hb9szYBzOc

  • The brain can be tapped through heterodyning the nerve signals with laser or microwave. The resulting microwave signals radiate from the brain. This was done by Cazzamalli in the 1930s.Then you use laser technology to write the pictures and videos directly onto the retina or brain.Check out my channel and homepage. My brother Markus Bott had been tortured during five and a half years and was assassinated on 11.7.09 by the German BND which is the renamed 3rd Reich GESTAPO.To suppress our homepage

  • its 2010 and nothin really happened

  • @daggar98 i seen stuff like Doritos bags they had, burgerking, mcdonalds, halmark webcam cards.

  • can you imagine porn on this thing

  • @kevy64 LOL "Gamer" reference? anyway for porn on this thing to work you'd need 3d models instead of video.

  • I NEED HELP!

Does anyone know what software is best to download to make augmented reality objects... like a engine which i can upload my own 3d renders to it? (made in blender, or other similar softwares)

Would really appreciate the help, searched everywhere and i'm finding it a lot of trouble to find.

  • @TOW3L1E Yes, search wikipedia for 'Augmented reality' and there's free stuff there. Or try searching for 'augmented reality software' in youtube. Pls let me know if you get some of your models up and running, i'd love to work on this as well !

  • I went to the HITlab a few years ago and had a turn with all this stuff

  • old

  • Amazing stuff. AugmentedRealityOnline

  • Amazing stuff.

  • we need a new video camera that allows this in real-time when recording. so we could add special effects, cartoon characters, and more without having to use after effects or maya. and easily uploaded to youtube. that vid camera will sell, but how to you tell the camera which effects to use and still keep the shot real-time?

  • get contact lenses to replace those dorky glasses

  • @thedavecraig with bluetooth

  • FTW :D

  • im going to lure some black people with my augumented watermelon and KFC

  • WOW!

It'll finally be cool to read books again!

    Even wearing those dorky glasses!

  • Penge school XD rocmuziekwijk

  • a question .. i know that this is not related to the video but do you know the

name of the song that starts at aprx 40 sec

    thanks

inspiring video keep up the good work

  • This is great! This is better than reading! We will never have to teach our children to read those words again!

  • I want to see games made with augmented reality and visors. I'm sure someone could make a game where you could fight zombies in your own house and where you can throw fireballs at them. Some sort of EEG reading could make it even cooler. Control AR objects with your MIND!

Cooler applications could be creating images from your mind that other people can see.

  • @polyopulis SAME! i want to do wars with my friends in the park and stuff :D

  • Daha, 2008

    At least we're getting there

  • ready BY 2008 fail :P

  • 2008 fail :P

  • imagination killers

  • I wanna see augmented Jesus die for our sins... preferably in a children's book :)

  • If this turns me into the Lawnmower Man i'm getting one..

  • If this turns me into the Lawnmower Man i'm getting one..

  • Livros do futuro em realidade aumentada

  • augmented reality by HITLAAAAA!!! ...b

    hitler's good with computers.

  • 0:24 is that an eye toy for ps?

  • I remember see this in the Terminator films in the 80s, now its a reality.

  • @DonswatchingtheTube

That's not very surprising, we get our inspiration for new technology from fiction quite often.

  • Nice new technique, but about that "bedtime story" thing:

Isn't the child supposed to fall asleep because of the soothing voice of Mom or Dad reading a story.

  • @d0dge25

maybe...this thing is just a new way, things evolve, just like our brains and our imagination.

  • @d0dge25

May be the mom or dad can control the technology.

and interact more with the imagination of children.

  • @d0dge25 I agree, but she's just being cute. ;-)

  • @cmMerlin Is she?

  • @d0dge25 I agree... The thought that people are thinking its great for children to be falling asleep to a computer rather than their parents is a tragic thought indeed. My favourite memories as a child were my parents reading to me. Can a computer stroke your hair while they read?

  • @FriedWombat13 This technology is NOT about reading children to sleep, it's FAR, FAR, FAR more significant than that. I hope the point is not lost. I'm a parent, and I read to my daughter (and she reads to me) on a daily basis. People who would abuse this technology are the same ones who just let children fall asleep to TV! Seriously, this posting is about interactive technologies. It's up to people to use all technology wisely. Best Wishes.

  • @d0dge25 Yeah, and what about children developing their own "pictures and videoes" aka imagination?

  • Elder scrolls !

  • i want one of those 3d augment reality glasses and it will feel like to be drunken haha.

  • FHM will soon get this upgrade

  • People should eperience the world, not have a computer show them
