  • It's very good man! you made it very similar to the original, I made my version a little bit different, if you wanna check is in my channel! cheers!

  • I always ffelt those pickups got in the way. I stick with my Jazz bass for that smooth no fuss groovin. Warwicks are nice.

  • watched this video once and i got the bass line down perfect. thanks for the upload!

  • esse baixista é mais duro do que eu.

  • Sweet bass, sweet playing, sweet tone. Sweet :-)

  • that double buck sounds pretty sweet man.. I got me a Corvette Standard but I think I'm going to upgrade to either a double buck or a Thumb

  • @JazzBass420 I have a corvette std too... and was thinkin the same thing but I have a hard time lettin it go... I think i keep and just add another bass to my collection haha

  • well done great playing

  • Well played! Nice Warwick too...You have the same left-hand-pinky-stickin-out problem I have. try and keep it closer to the fretboard and you will notice the improvement =)

  • congratulations!!

  • best !!

  • Good job, but you gotta play on top of the beat. You're laggin just a tad. Pick it up a bit. Remember, timing, timing, timing.

  • FUNNNNNNNNNKYYYY

  • awesome dude! keep up the good work ;)

  • The opposite angle would be much better.

    : /

  • what's the action like on warwicks?

  • @randompersonsband1

What ever you get it set too.

If you like it high, get some one to adjust it like so and the same if you like your strings real close to the fret board.

  • Your a bass freak dude very awesome

  • good mate keep it up

  • from 2010 Warwick have re-issued the pre 1998 C(slim) neck profile, with an extra slim profile as a custom shop option.

  • My Streamer LX-5 has a thicker neck but the way they build them, they are still very easy to play. My Double Buck 4 is the same way.

  • foker

  • Nice cover man! But you skipped the ghosts notes, without them the song misses

somethin' of it's funky groovin' and also you sound a little bit out of rhythm,no offence, good job though! Is that a Warwick Bass?

  • your cover is the best i have seen

  • is a warwick a type of bird.

nice to see bass players using their fingers, not a pick...

    cheers Tim from the beach

  • Great playing, and a groovin' line too! My only request is to change the camera angle to where you can see the left hand a little better!

  • Very hench looking humbuckers on that Warwick!

  • Need some advice! I have this bass and it's time to put some new strings on.

Should I stick with the same and put Warwick Black Label strings or try Dean Markley SR2000s?

  • get dr hi beams best strings ever

  • thanks! would you recommend dr low riders? i don't really play that much slap/ funk myself.

  • im not sure havent tried them but dr hi beams give such a clear bright tone but it also depends on what type of bass player you are

  • Use Erny ball, excellent for all sounds

  • Hibeams, worth EVERY penny.

  • why dont you put some warwick EMP40???? or some elixir stuff,., they are cool and they last long....

  • @mRw1ReL3Ss Thanks for the suggestion. I ended up putting some DR Lo Riders on them. After the breaking in that new clangy string sound, they are not bad. I might try the warwick ones you suggested next...

  • @knarisa ernie ball slinkys man....i've been playing ernie balls and ghs for 6 years now and haven't really found a tone i can't get

  • cool. where can I find the bass tab for this song?

  • hells yeh man, you funked the shit out of that warwick!

  • huh...i thought bass was lame ...i take it all back...

  • Do warwicks generally have thick or thin necks?

  • Pretty thick but that's not annoying (my mind) it's not as hard to play as we can imagine, i love it

  • @morgan59190 That looks like a Corvette, It is "thick", but it is also narrow towards the headstock like a Fender Jazz Bass or MusicMan Sterling. I have a FNA Jazzman LTD 2004, which is based on the Corvette design, and has excellent playability.

  • @eaterofcandy They were really thick, but in 2009 they changed their neck to C shape so it's thinner now

  • I have this same bass and i'd say that it feels thinner at the top but thick when you play higher notes towards the bridge.

  • @eaterofcandy Coming from someone who doesn't play Warwicks, they're pretty damn thick, it's like a tree trunk. You'd get used to it though, I imagine

  • @stereotypical213 if you were to actually measure the necks, you'd soon see for yourself this thick neck myth is just that. It's the U profile I think you're referring to.The new C,or slim profile is once again standard from 2010.

  • @eaterofcandy The necks c shaped, but I don't think its too thick, I've got small hands and short fingers, and I have no problems playing on my friends Corvette. The five strings are pretty thick, but I don't think they are any thicker then a Musicman Stingray 5, they felt about the same to me anyways.

  • @eaterofcandy It really depends on which model you're playing. I have a fair bit of experience in playing Warwick basses. The necks on the corvette basses are generally pretty thick. Which helps get that fat low end sound. However the streamer bass has a much thinner neck.

  • the sound is amazing man, try to be a little more creative on the solo, its really easy its a minor 9 i believe so you can do pretty much everything in it!

  • Report card for genius2005

    coolness - 0

    bass playing - 0

    intelligence - 0

    ave. score - 0

    being a total douchebag - 10

  • I recall you telling em that you have your bass hooked up to your computer, is that right? How did you do that becuase i can't get my camcorder to record the sound from my bass, it's too low for my piece of junk cam.

  • good job. love a nice groove...

  • Jamiroquai is part of the reason I wanted to play bass. Nice work! Keep playing those funky tunes!

  • fag

  • you rate like a douche bag.

  • nice comment genius2005 - honest and direct - i thought it must have been really offensive the way other comments were razzing you :)

  • Hey... can you share with me what your amp set-up is? Thanks!

  • no amp : the bass is plugged in my pandora px4d which is plugged directly in my soundcard

  • Wow... well it is a very good sound!

  • agreed

  • No pluck or slap at all, listen to the original closely captain "thumbs all the notes and pretends its the same".

  • Fantastic...

  • Hey can you tab me the chorus cause I am really stuck on it.

  • i love the bass in jamiroquai it's awesome! u did it pretty well my friend :D

  • we have the same bass dude!! real cool bass real cool playin keep it up! just watch a bit the left hand fingers ur pulling them away a bit too much and may cost u some speed(have the same problem),but u produce great sound!

  • very cool man. sounds like you worked hard to get the jiss of it down. but if i may say; i think you need some work on making the bassline groove some more. it just sounds to me like your let some of the notes last a little too longer than they should. try making it a little more punchier is what i'm saying. try looking up the tempo of the song and playing along to a metronome, that should help you considerably. =]

    peace!

  • it is 3 years old so i'd say he's pretty much nailed it now

  • Sounds good 5/5

  • bene, lo faccio paro paro!

  • this guy lives in my town!! nice vid btw

  • nice warwick (:

    nice cover

    5/5*

  • Looks like a Corvette to me

    can you tell?

  • yes, it's a corvette (:

  • Nice

I play a Warwick STD 5 Corvette Ash

You can tell them a mile away by their one body part which about 90% of people i know have described as a giant dildo = S

    Lovely basses though!

  • i know what you mean, look's like i'm gonna have to trade in my corvette now....(giant dildo...lol)

  • VERY NICE! :D

I just adore the bassline of this song, it's so funky<3

    Very nice cover

Also, if you have a tab of this song could you send it/link it to me? Thanks a bunch (:

  • how long you been playing too lol? sorry last comment ill leave promise, im just perplexed by that bass guitar, its a wonderful tone

  • When i have recorded that video, i was playing the bass for about a year, maybe a bit more.

yes it's kinda great bass (according to the price) i do not use any amp or effect, it's just the real bass sound

  • omg... thats all i can say that bass guitar is amazing, wow, how much did it cost you? what are you coupling it with? what amp i mean

  • I bought it for 832e (about 1200$ today , but when i bought it,$ was higher than € so it was about 600$.)

In my videos i do not use any amp, just the bass guitar pluygged in the computer through my korg px4d

  • man, putting two humbucker pickups together like that, that's dangerous! :D

  • lol don't worry they were splitted, two single coil are less dangerous ;)

  • when you say they're plitted what do you mean? i dont know exactly what the pickup lingo is

  • By "splitted" i mean that just the half of each humbucker are plugged, i don't know if you will understand what i try to explain, it's pretty hard for me to explain it in english. Actually the pickups configuration is just like if a had played with a fender jazz bass (2 single coil)

  • Coil tapping on each pickup (I'm guessing through push pull pots on each pickup's volume knob) I think that's what he means when he says "splitted" Nice tone man.

  • in fact that bass has 2 humbucker and for each one you have a microswitch to select the pickup configuration, you can chose between humbucker or another position where you use only the half of the humbucker (in fact the humbucker is now a single coil) so when i recorded that video, i played my bass with each switches in that position so i hadn"t two humbucker but two sincle coil) (thats what i meen by splitted). i hope my explaination is good enough.

  • my friend has that bass. did you play with the microswitches both up? down? middle? I'm not sure what flipping each of those switches does exactly. all I know is that it gets a lot of buzz with them down.

  • both in middle position

  • Switches down = Parallel. Middle = single coil. Up = Series (The guy from Warwick said Serial, but this is what I think he meant in english)

  • Thanks so much!

  • warwick

  • muito bom !!! 10+++

  • I Like the smooth sound

  • sounds a bit like car wash... but for sure still very good

i love that bass, i have it too

  • nice feeling, great sound. Good work !

  • Good job, excellent song choice :p

  • tempo ??? Gut basic... ;o)

  • I agree with BurnToFade and 57precision. I used to play with posture in my right like similar to yours and after about three months of playing four to six hours a day added to a skiing injury, I developed De Quervain's Tenosynovitis and carpel tunnel syndrome. I had to wear a splint for two months, which put me back a lot on practicing.

  • amazing , really and i love your tone too ^^

  • i like your tone man keep it groovin

  • nice bass nice tone:)

  • la verdad exelente capo!!! segui asi

  • hey, nice playing, work a bit on getting the chorus more in the pocket.. btw, your right hand positioning can lead to some serious injury in the future, try to keep it more straight. cheers!

  • woot? what kinda injury? i play like this, too! *scared*

  • injury of the right wrist.. tendons and stuff. Check out the Gary Willis "Progressive Bassics" video, he explains there the correct and healthy right hand positioning. In a nutshell, it's just to keep your hand straight... and don't worry, unless you play a LOT (like 2-4 gigs per week and a lot of practice, like me) you won't have any problems (unlike me)..

    cheerz

  • To be more specific, when you hand is flexed in that position you are putting more stress on the median nerve of your forearm. The median nerve runs in the same tendon sheath as the tendons that move your fingers. This can lead to carpal tunnel syndrome. So keep that hand straight!

  • playing in the classical position helps keep your right hand straight i find

im always paranoid about gettin carpal tunnel syndrome

  • Que talento!

    Felicitaciones...

  • GENIAL WN!!!

    GENIAL!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

    saludos!

  • It may just be the somewhat muddy tone, but the timing on the verse sounds a little sloppy. Try slowing it down a little and making sure those 16th click where they're supposed to.

  • Nice :)

  • nice nice groovy playing hehe

  • Nice! 5/5

  • Sehr nice!

  • Sehr nett* ;)

  • very very nice!

  • pedazo pastillas xD

  • That sounds great. All around good bass player.

  • i got same bass hehe

  • hip as shit

  • What software do u guys use to remove the bass from the songs....so he can play the bass like he's doing....Im a newbie to the bass....can someone recommend a beginners bass amp..not to expensive in the uk?..thanks a lot!!

  • don't be thick, he's just playing aong, the bass is still there

  • whats the point of doing that....if the bass is still there....i dont know im just thick according to you

  • Thick or not (I don't know???) asking questions is still the best way to get answer's to what one does not know. Playing along with the bass in the song still playing will tune your ears to know what notes are being played by ear if you cannot read sheet music. I have been at it since 1965 and don't read sheet music to this day. Questions asked and listening and finding the notes on the neck is how I learned from day one. Keep practicing and growing, and ask questions when you don't know.

  • the impressive thing is that you don't notice two different basses playing- that means he's pretty much playing dead on correct. lol

  • Actually that ain't a thick question some amps with an input remove the bass for you and there are other things like the Korg Pandora PX4D that remove it... personally I don't bother removing it but it can be good if you're playing slightly different to the original.

  • nice!! perfect timing man

  • well done, thanks.

  • Nice Groove! Check my cover I made Live! ;D

  • V GOOD SUNSHINE

  • nice lazy groove ... .sweet

  • Very nice playing, very very nice :D.

However, try straightin' your right wrist out a little, wouldn't want you to develop any problems :]

  • ...and I made a not so nice looking typo =P

  • OOH! I love Jamiroquai, I love bass and I now love this video! lol Not to seem weird (although I think it's pretty much unavoidable), you have a nice looking wrists. lol

    Awesomeness indeed ^_^

  • shit dude :O

    love it

  • very good tone quality !! very rare here ;-)

  • great bass tone.

  • i was playing that bass at guitar center one day, i had to change my shorts when i got home

  • very nice mate!!i can play it too and u sound really cool!

  • nice

i have the same bass as 5 string ;-)

    what amp do you use?

  • I wish I had a 5 string... I could only afford my Fender Squire J-Bass but I do like it quite a bit.

  • This is really good. Have you tried throwing in some Slap/Pop in there?

    =Lunar=

  • same bass but natural... very very nice my friend

  • I played that bass today but in Natural finish, absolutely beautiful.

  • you should try to play more goast notes. they are there, listen carefully. soory for missspells.

  • Not bad man, you need to pay more attention on the groove, and that's it!!

  • bueno

  • wow...Great!

  • bad timig though

  • great sound! I played the same song, but it sounded pretty nasty :S
