  • I love those snapper RER

  • ahh the old snapper lawn mowers best and simplest lawn mowers ever

  • I KNOWN WHAT IT IS ITS THE GAS LINE THING THATS DRIPING GAS I KNOW BECAUSE MY SNAPPER HAS THE SAME PROBLEM AS THAT TO!!!

  • @drm3105 the problem is the jet seal on the carb.bowl thats screws into the bottom of the bowl...... take it out and look by the tip that screws into the bottom of the carb ther is a little seal or your float is dirty

  • that gas coming from the carb of course almost always means that your needle and seat is stuck open from shit clogged in it or a bad float. spray the carb out with compressed air or if that doesnt work just grab a carb kit and rebuild it. easy fix

  • how many cranking amps does that battery have?

  • Also be lucky you have a battery that cranks over that long myne wont crank an engine without the help of a battery starter it suckss

  • it doesn't flood at all with cranking for a long period of time iv never been able to flood any of my engines ( soon to get videos of a 12.5HP engine startingr rebuilt with all new things)

  • how the hell do you get the belt to feed between the clutch ass. and pulley? i've tried everything.HELP

  • Are you talking about the pulleys for the deck? Go to opeonthenet-DOT-com, they should be able to help you out.

  • yeah, thanks alot .

  • @jhaley12 just remove the pulley or the belt guide to re route the new belt.........thanx

  • I've got electric start and a pull start on my racing mower. Got it free with a blown motor and dropped in a brand new $549 12.5 hp briggs with a pull start and starter on it. Runs great. got it up to 30mph :)

  • you should of shot some ether or gas in there

  • It Has A Bad Transmission! Duh!

    (To Blazer363)

  • good ol snapper always start

  • LOL... still nevr got the stupid thing running right... The carb is currently off the engine waiting to be cleaned and put back together.

  • Mine leaks out the carburetor too. Because it needs a carburetor.. LOL Jabba is Super Cheap and doesn't care....

Mine was plugged solid when I got my junk wagon. But it PULL STARTS Normally on the 2nd or 3rd PULL... Yeah Who Needs a Lousy Electric Starter?

  • I know. I've been out in the woods with mine and countless times my battery died, and I wished so much I had a pull start.

  • I know! You have to Change a lot of stuff but it can be added!

  • Well not really ALOT of stuff. I would keep the starter on there. I used to use a bit of rope and a metal bar to pull the crank shaft (i removed the grass screen) until that piece of rope broke lol

  • My battery hasn't died on me yet... But sometimes when the engine is hot, the starter doesn't have the power to turn it over. Letting the engine cool solves the problem, but a Pull starter would have been nice.

  • Lol... The carb is STILL off the engine, half apart, sitting in the shed. I need to get off my azz and get that rebuild kit! I hope I haven't lost anything important... lol

Might sell it this summer if I get it running. I've got no use for it anymore.(sorta kinda)

  • how much was the snapper?

  • I have a new snapper. Do you know how I can make it faster? I don't need to know anything about the governor. I've heard I need different sized pullys. Do you know anything I could do?

  • I'd have to look under my mower again at the Tranny but I don't think it has any belts for the drive system. You might be able to adjust the rubber drive wheel to run farther out on the platter, that would gain a little speed, but not much. Post your question on opeonthenet-DOT-com. I'm a member there and they should be able to help you out.

  • There are no pulleys and belts on a snapper RER. They aren't made to go fast. You need to open up the gearbox and put a smaller sprocket on the driven side and a larger one on the drive side. That would make it go faster. You will also need to make a new chain for it.

  • Yeah, there was a little gas in the tank, but I ran the engine until it stalled with the gas valve closed. It was even stabilized gas, and I added more, fresh gas this spring.

I knew it would stop running eventually. I realized the carb was messed up last fall when I was trying to find an idle surging problem and gas was filling the carb when the engine was off. This summer, I'll probably clean it, possibly rebuild it.

  • that was no a good video but come on that was right bad good job

  • Probably had a little gas left in the carb. Get yourself a can of carb cleaner and a carburetor kit and do up the carb, and put in a new air filter. It'll run great.
