@everybody12356 KM was convicted not on the TV videos, he was convicted because 2 witnesses said the taxi was initially stationary on the left, the taxi driver outside the taxi arguing with the passenger. The taxi sped off to the right with the taxi driver still outside the vehicle apparently caught by the seat belt unable to break free from the taxi. The taxi driver was then rammed into the central concrete divider and railings and the autopsy proved he was killed this way.

The incident in this video is irrelevant to Mudd's guilt. The court heard eyewitness testimony that Mudd previously commandeered the taxi, crushing the taxi driver to death against a barrier. The taxi driver was outside the vehincle at the time. Sad for all involved.

Judging from this video, it doesn't seem like emergency response in Hong Kong is effective. traffic is buzzing by a hazardous crash scene while people in shiny jackets stand around with their hand on their hips, incapable of securing a severely damaged toyota. Interestingly, they are more than capable/willing to allow unprecedented media access to the crash scene. The only thing worse than the quality of this video is the level of competence displayed by the emergency crew.
the man in the red shirt is visibly traumatized from the first accident (which is not filmed). the toyota that takes off (unintentionally) is STILL RUNNING after the initial crash, with emergency response members standing around assessing the situation. The damage caused by the runaway toyota could have been avoided had the response crew secured the vehicle as soon as they reported to the scene.
Seems like they were more concerned with being t.v. stars than emergency response professionals.
an injured man is laying on a stretcher in what seems to be a very slim median with cars passing by. the toyota takes off unintentionally, which shows no emergency markings or traffic diversions around the scene. the response crew can be seen standing in the middle of the highway, jogging after the malfunctioning vehicle with no visible signs of caution. It seems to me that the response crew is preoccupied with something other than safety or preserving the evidence from the scene.
it is sad that youtube lets people post videos with such awful intentions. the very title of this video makes unsubstantiated accusations based on this choppy, incomplete, edited view of a complex emergency situation. Not to mention that distributing material like this on the internet compromises the judicial process and investigations belonging to legal professionals.

It is clear that the Australian needs medical attention and yet they continue to question him in a language not his own. Get the man out of the car and take him to the hospital! He is clearly in the passenger seat when the car pops into gear, which has been known to happen to vehicles post-accident.
This case goes far beyond the accident findings itself as the video comments clearly show sensational bias against the injured passenger. Rational analysis would have been no news, as the passenger is clearly sitting on the passenger seat. Thus, this case should be first and foremost about the irresponsible reporters inventing a story. But in the end, it's not enough to say these are just the reportes. The sensational video world is what this is all about. Any court out there to address this?
All you critics need to be locked up (esp Galley415)... I see it all...So an obviously injured Aussie Passenger irresponsibly left in a taxi, obviously sitting in the passenger seat, with what appears to be head injuries from the taxi drivers prior driving errors is supposedly trying to escapee from the accident scene by rolling away at about 3-5 km/hr with his foot obviously on the brake pedal!!!! The prosecution should hang their heads in shame and the biased reporters sacked.
This is a top example of biased media reporting. A few simple points to raise - The driver is in the passenger seat of the damaged car which starts moving when the medic puts the car in gear. The passenger is also obviously concussed from the accident which could have only been caused by the taxi driver in control of the vehicle.

@everybody12356 KM was convicted not on the TV videos, he was convicted because 2 witnesses said the taxi was initially stationary on the left, the taxi driver outside the taxi arguing with the passenger. The taxi sped off to the right with the taxi driver still outside the vehicle apparently caught by the seat belt unable to break free from the taxi. The taxi driver was then rammed into the central concrete divider and railings and the autopsy proved he was killed this way.

Update: A jury, consisting of six men and one woman, yesterday found Mudd guilty of manslaughter and four other charges against him, including causing death by dangerous driving, taking conveyance without authority, dangerous driving and drink-driving.
Judge Alan Wright will pass sentence today after mitigation pleas from defense lawyers.

The incident in this video is irrelevant to Mudd's guilt. The court heard eyewitness testimony that Mudd previously commandeered the taxi, crushing the taxi driver to death against a barrier. The taxi driver was outside the vehincle at the time. Sad for all involved.

Judging from this video, it doesn't seem like emergency response in Hong Kong is effective. traffic is buzzing by a hazardous crash scene while people in shiny jackets stand around with their hand on their hips, incapable of securing a severely damaged toyota. Interestingly, they are more than capable/willing to allow unprecedented media access to the crash scene. The only thing worse than the quality of this video is the level of competence displayed by the emergency crew.

the man in the red shirt is visibly traumatized from the first accident (which is not filmed). the toyota that takes off (unintentionally) is STILL RUNNING after the initial crash, with emergency response members standing around assessing the situation. The damage caused by the runaway toyota could have been avoided had the response crew secured the vehicle as soon as they reported to the scene.
Seems like they were more concerned with being t.v. stars than emergency response professionals.

an injured man is laying on a stretcher in what seems to be a very slim median with cars passing by. the toyota takes off unintentionally, which shows no emergency markings or traffic diversions around the scene. the response crew can be seen standing in the middle of the highway, jogging after the malfunctioning vehicle with no visible signs of caution. It seems to me that the response crew is preoccupied with something other than safety or preserving the evidence from the scene.

it is sad that youtube lets people post videos with such awful intentions. the very title of this video makes unsubstantiated accusations based on this choppy, incomplete, edited view of a complex emergency situation. Not to mention that distributing material like this on the internet compromises the judicial process and investigations belonging to legal professionals.
The producers of this video are simply pandering to media sensationalism and xenophobia. very poor journalism.

It is quite obvious from this video that the authorities and medical personnel did a terrible job of securing the individual in the red shirt. It is clear that the Australian needs medical attention and yet they continue to question him in a language not his own. Get the man out of the car and take him to the hospital! He is clearly in the passenger seat when the car pops into gear, which has been known to happen to vehicles post-accident.

This case goes far beyond the accident findings itself as the video comments clearly show sensational bias against the injured passenger. Rational analysis would have been no news, as the passenger is clearly sitting on the passenger seat. Thus, this case should be first and foremost about the irresponsible reporters inventing a story. But in the end, it's not enough to say these are just the reportes. The sensational video world is what this is all about. Any court out there to address this?

I see it all...So an obviously injured Aussie Passenger irresponsibly left in a taxi, obviously sitting in the passenger seat, with what appears to be head injuries from the taxi drivers prior driving errors is supposedly trying to escapee from the accident scene by rolling away at about 3-5 km/hr with his foot obviously on the brake pedal!!!! This is a top example of biased media reporting. A few simple points to raise - The driver is in the passenger seat of the damaged car which starts moving when the medic puts the car in gear. The passenger is also obviously concussed from the accident which could have only been caused by the taxi driver in control of the vehicle.
