  • Hello, thanks for the lesson it's really helpful for me. But i have a question; can you explain the sticking of the fill at 2:57?

  • Are you suggesting soloing ain't to be done in time??

  • how does he snap that loud?

  • your body is missing

  • Excellent video, my friend

  • awesome vid, very helpful for working on jazz!

btw u should probably avoid wearing a black shirt against a black background; half the time you looked just a floating head and arms XD

  • starts at 2:08 XD

  • I really liked the solo that started at 2:28. What's going on there?

  • wow...that was....horrible. over complicated ideas, no feel.

  • @plegentil dude, it doesn't get much better than this!

  • kick drum and ride are amazing..very nice guy

  • u dont feather in your videos.. but do u at gigs?

  • Love how the audio is messed up when it comes to the actual playing.

  • oh man , if you could score the fill at 4:48, then ill send you the best czech beer from Prague, i think youre in Dubrovnik i heard, so not so far away. but seriously besides the initial snare hits, i think you start it on the floor tom...ahhhhggg i just need to know where it starts, maybe its the kick, do you have this beast scored somewhere. please post it to us...best regards, Lukos

  • nice videos

  • Istarted using this same idea of trading fours with my students its great to see what a ten year old comes up with. huh, this kid i teach hits all of the metal hoops and shells for a laugh..hey, its sounds like you are a fellow Australian ,yeah?

  • Very nice cymbals!

  • This guy rocks

  • What ride is that? it sounds awesome!

  • wow. enough that word

  • what snare are you using?

  • @SamsDrums1 looks like an akira jimbo signature snare

  • Everything sounds super sweet, man. What are the cymbals (including HH)?

  • Whats that amazing ride?

  • Cooooll!!

  • can I ask that, how to count correct in trade? I always count more or less :(

  • nice man im just a full on metal drummer but i really liked your style keep it up

  • great soloing and licks bro

  • Thanks. We use 3 HD cameras and mics include 2 x Rode NT5s overhead and an AKG Perception 120 for kick.

  • the drumvideos sound really good, i was wondering, how did you record the drum videos? what mics ? thanks!

  • u speak too much,,,, :|

  • do you have any videos with six stroke rolls and fills using feet and hands, im not great at fills in jazz, any tips?

  • @thomascompton800 Have a look at 'Secret Steve Gadd Drum Lick Explained' and also channel 'Sachamun'

  • @thomascompton800 Try Fives(Quintuplets) as well, it's great for fills and solo ideas.

  • love the lesson! is the website a free site or do you have to pay for membership?

  • @era1004 Thanks. The site is about to relaunch. 50% of the content is free.

  • Whats the ride cymbal you use at your left ?

  • @ThemJazzyBeats it looks like a hhxtreme crash. probs 19"

  • You talked about form, and that's good, but can you talk about the nitty gritty details of creating a drum solo? I know how long to solo for, that's easy as pie. But I don't know what to do in that time.

  • Your explanation of what your doing at 4:48 isn't very detailed, you clearly hit the hi tom and floor tom and you also play two bass drum beats on notes 1 and 9. Let me take a crack at it and you correct me. Sticking is correct except in stead of the last three beats being LLR its really LLF so the entire 9-note pattern is FRL RLR LLF. Note 2 is played on the floor tom, 3=Gohst Snare;4=Accented Snare; 5=Hi tom; 6=floor tom; 7&8 are gohsted snare hits; 9 is bass drum then back to 1 which is BD

  • very helpful, thanks! =)

btw you deserve way more views

  • Excellent playing !!! Really enjoyable to listen to !!!

  • Thanks man i like your vids!

  • What did you do at 2:30 and how can i learn how to do that? It sounded really great.

  • @rob11057293

I think they were 'flam accents' interpreted 3 different ways:

    1. starting on the 3rd triplet of each beat

    2. starting on the 1st triplet of each beat

    3. starting on the 2nd triplet of each beat

    Thanks

  • @schoolofmusiconline those flam accents blew my mind

  • I like you're style man, good ideas, musical.....in some cases filing the bars but not pushing it with over zelous fills!!

  • Akira Jimbo signature snare drum. Great sound.

  • what kind of cybals are you using?, you have a cool highhat

  • @SiameseDream4321 That's a Zildjian K Custom Special Dry 14" hi-hat

  • wow cool!..

    what is this ride cymbal?

  • @galfatl Hey, it's an Istanbul 22" Traditional.

  • 1 HEAD, 2 ARMS

    PLAY DRUMS

    ^.^ '

  • don't forget your feet!

  • Come to think of it, I think a headless drummer would look pretty awesome.

  • Very nice!

  • your ideas are great =]

what is the lick at 4:48?

    what is the sticking?

  • Thanks.

    At 4:48 it's a 9-note pattern (F=right foot):

    FRL RLR LLR

The 4th and 6th notes are right hand accents which can be moved around.

I'll put this lick on my list of video lessons to create in the near future. Also see youtube/user/sachamun for more misc drum stuff.

  • @alibabaolfat sounds like woody woodpecker

  • @dzarren haha now that you mention it!

  • you're a phenomenal drummer! keep it up

  • keep it up man
