    thanks for the upload

  • @smoothwalker26 - You are most welcome, my dear friend.

  • Lovely!

  • A melodious song by The great Rafi Sir in Hamsa dhwani raaga ..

  • The other composition in Darbari from this movie "Tu Pyar Ka Sagar".

  • gr8 song...

  • Yuan, you seem to have a treasure trove of old film songs. Do you have the full length movies too?

  • @MsRafifan - Yes my friend, I do have some of the old films.

    Thank you.

  • Thank you from my heart, dear good person. Just beautiful.

  • @MsRafifan - You are most welcome, my dear friend.

  • unbeatable song, sung by mohd.rafi,Balraj sahni is father of prikshat sahni on which this song is picturised.

  • What a wonderful song...thanx Yuan...

  • @b2bains - You are most welcome, my dear friend.

  • Hello Yuan and thani you very much. Excellent song written by Shailendra. Very meaningful. However, I can never swallow Balraj Sahni lipsynching any singer, let alone Rafi. For some reason, it never suited him.

It is said that while recording when Rafi recited the words "Jo Bandhe Thhey Bandhan, Woh Kyun Tod Dale" tears rolled down his eyes.

  • @RealMusicKing - From the comments what I get and also from various sources what I gathered is that Late Mr. Mohammed Rafi was a very sensitive, caring and a very kind person.

I always used to think that if we have had the present modern medical facilities at the time, he would have lived at least for another 30 years or more and would have provided the world with thousands of gems!

A God given gift to the WORLD.

May his soul Rest In Peace.

  • beautiful composition is raga darbaari... Rafi Sb, u are king of melody

  • What a wonderful and melodious voice Rafi saab has. Thank you so much.

  • You are most welcome, my friend.

  • Part 3:

Have you ever thought, where your destination is?

In this big world, where is your house?

    Where is your house?

    Where is your house?

Those bonds that you bound, why are you breaking them?

Where are you going, oh traveller?

    Where are you going?

Where are you going? Where are you going? Where are you going?

  • Part 2:

The one who doesn't get hurt, it is not his victory (x2)

The one who gets up after falling down, it is his victory (x2)

The signs of the goals are these scars on the feet (x2)

Where are you going, oh traveller?

    Where are you going?

  • Yuan,

You are welcome -- any time. This is such a beautiful song. Aside from the melody, the lyrics and Rafi's voice, Nutan and Balraj Sahani's acting, the meaning of the song is so subtle and sublime -- poetry at its best.

  • Thank you very much my dear friend for the translation. I really appreciate your kind gesture.

Many viewers will be benefited by your kind action, I believe.

Thank you again and take care.

  • Here is a translation:

Where are you going, oh traveller (literally, it is "goer")? (x2)

The mind is dark, please light a lamp

Where are you going, oh traveller? (x2)

This life's journey, is a blind journey (x2)

To get emotionally distracted is certain, there is fear of getting lost (x2)

The heart doesn't get steady, whoever steadies it (x2)

Where are you going, oh traveller

    Where are you going?

  • Simply superb. A story of rule of melody and poetry, both theme and content matchless. Best of songs by Rafi Sahib.

    Thanks Yuan ji

  • You are most welcome, my friend.

  • v beautiful song. all greats as chamogaa ji says. but lyricist is shailendra not sahir please. rafi has sung with a lot of feeling . thanks a lot for this gem.

  • Beautiful song written by Shailendra. Thanks for the upload Yuan.

    Shyam

  • You are most welcome, my friend Shyam.

  • Very very nice song Yuan jie. Like it so much. Fabulous !!!!!!!!!!!.

  • You are most welcome my friends.

  • Let's note the assemblage of "greats" here: One of the most gifted actors, Balraj Sahni( whose image you see as my channel icon); the most expressive star, Nutan; the most imaginative lyricist, Sahir Ludhiyanvi; one of the most melodious musical pairs, S-J; and one of the finest singers, Rafi. All that equals an everlasting treasure. Thanks, Yuan.

  • One of the nicest comment.

    Thank you.
