Legalization should first be a matter of states not the federal government. Take Cali for example, most likely it will be legalized there within a few years. If that were to happen, marijuana would be able to prove itself as a truly benign substance and a ripple effect would occur and we could possibly see the legalization occur indiviually across the US.
We need to centralize this fight! Call your state's congressmen and tell em what you think! Use that 1st Ammendment!!!
Grow up weed was cool in middle school, other then medical necessity which yes has a lot of good logic, it should not be legal for just recreation. One question, what is going to happen when the economy bounces back like it indicated today? You economic argument is going to tank.
why shouldnt pot be legal, if alcohol is legal and that kills more than 100,000 ppl each year, tobacco is legal and that kills more than 400,000 ppl each year....weed has never killed anyone even tyelonol has killed ppl
Why do you folks always say that weed has never killed someone? I know for fact that it has. I have a very good friend that was in a very bad car accident, he was paralyzed, of the other 3 passengers 1 died and 2 others were permanently paralyzed. There is your one casualty from mj use. Please do not tell me no one has ever been killed using mj.
He means from marijuana alone. Those figures from alcohol and tobacco are from overdose and diseases directly caused from their use. of course someone driving while high is more likely to get in an accident, but if it were legalized that would be illegal.. just like you cant drive drunk. plus alcohol worsens your reaction time 5 times as much as marijuana
Actually, according to recent studies, a sober driver is more likely to cause an accident. "Stoned" drivers are statistically better drivers, they simply pay attention better, sober drivers are easily distracted.
yo cant over dose on marijuana or really you can od on just about anything hell if you drink too much water you can die its just impossible to fill your stomach that much // with weed you go to sleep befor you can even get close to od ing
Nobody has ever died from a marijuana "overdose" now someone getting behind the wheel of a car while under the influence of marijuana and causing a wreck is different and marijuana by far is much safer, when I start seeing more cabs in front of bars then cars, then you can tell us Alcohol is safer.
I would like to see Marijuana legalized but the current legalization movement consists of liberals who wants to "tax the hell out of it" or just get the same government who sucks at doing everything to regulate it.
Tobacco regulation is stupid
so far all it has done is increase the risk of lung cancer
Switzerland -or was it Sweden? -is allowed to advertise safer alternatives and they have the very low lung cancer rates compared to other European or north American countries.
Let's get this legalized already!! Weed is God's gift to us all and the Devil is trying to take it away!

Don't tax it either.
Just let the market regulate itself
