Well it doesn't say its NES specifically :Y

Could as well be GameGear

And Megaman broke the 3 color rule as well ...

by using multiple layers of sprites :)

Well that's kinda' what I was trying to explain ,

most people define 8-bit graphics as the NES restrictions.

But there's 8-bit systems with way more powerfull Video Display Processors ...

like the GameGear or MasterSystem :D

There's no actual rule that all 8-bit sprites can only have 3 colors ,

such was only the case for NES and GameBoy/GBC.

Take also into consideration that on older systems a sprite usually wasn't the entire character ,

but instead a 8x8 or 8x16 pixel section of it.

So in megaman for example they used a couple of sprites to make his body ,

and another sprite for the face.

But there's plenty of other 8-bit machines that have other restrictions.
