It's a same that the entire Terminator Series isn't possible, even if they could make Cyborgs, there was a war, and Time Travel was possible. Because, the second they stopped Skynet, there would have been a Paradox.
Just imagine coming to that realization that something like that was really after you. What a horrifying, hopeless moment that would be. How would you even begin to cope with something like that?
