It's so frustrating watching him fight olga: you can shoot the spot light, after she shoots the tarp and makes it wave in the air, you can shoot the remaining strings tying it down yourself and make it fly away, after the fight is over, you can shoot tranq darts into her face a couple of times and otacon will call you angry about it. there's lots of things you can do extra.

This is such an underrated game by the fans of the MGS series. I was 11 when I first started playing it and thought it was a worthy sequel, but I wasn't happy about the storyline's focus on Raiden or what I thought was an overcomplicated plot. In hindsight, this game is a postmodern masterpiece that questions reality, identity, perception and legend - without forgetting that in form, it is still an innovative and endlessly entertaining video game. Not as good as the first, sure - but no game is.

@Vamp6661 actually substance is for PS2 as well, but it came out a few months to a year later. It was better though because the PS2 version had an extra "Skateboarding" mode.

On that note...I am sitting here, waiting for ten o'clock (when the game store opens) to get my preordered Metal Gear Solid HD Collection :O such a long wait! lol

@lXxMasterShakexXl well, i just got it today, and they didnt change anything (aside from the HD makeover and clearer sounds, not different). The only thing they really changed is instead of hitting circle to use rations etc. you use X like in most games. other than that they are exactlythe same gameplay wise

You want to know what I find weird about MGS2 is the The BigShell was used to clean up oil and the The Big Shell Incident happen on April 29, 2009. Isn`t weird how on April 20, 2010 the BP oil spill happen. Weird isn`t it..... Sometimes I think events in the whole MGS series can relate to real life events. Or even be real. But I`m just saying.

@xRaIDeNx69 The gameplay is amazing for certain, but the problem most people have is how the summing up of the story at the end of the game really made little sense, both philosphically and realistically. At the time it was released, no one I talked to could figure out what was going on there. I kind of think Kojima was a one-trick pony story-wise, with the only amazing story being MGS1.

Now that I think of it the ending was a tad fucked up as well as confuusing to say the least.

I must admit I probably am a little bit biased. This was the first MGS that I ever played and its what made me fall in love with the franchise. I used to beat it every two days for like 4 straight months and would have never got tired since it was the first 'flexible' game that I ever played.

@UntilYourWorldGoDown Even if you can try to make sense of everything that happens (including Liquid's arm controlling Ocelot or an AI posing as Campbell guiding Raiden through his mission), it's much too difficult for anyone but a die-hard Metal Gear fan who researches everything to get. I disliked MGS4 in both gameplay and story personally and kind of lost faith in the series after that. Kojima's genius centralizes mostly around MGS1. Even parts of that game were borrowed from MG2 from 1990.
