  • great sax solo

  • how the hell can u talk about chris botti in relationship to this song.

  • this sax player means business

  • Ha, just got back from seeing Alan White 2011 with Benoit and Oliver.

Steve Howe and Chris Squire are men of class. That's all I have to say on Ash Wednesday from the HOB.

  • I own this DVD so why am I watching this on youtube?

  • A LOVELY DRUMMER, NEVER OVER THE TOP :).

I AM A MIXTURE OF OVER THE TOP AND I HOPE HIS BALANCED APPRAOCH.

THIS ONE OF MINE WAS RECORDED AFTER TWO YEARS WITHOUT PLAYING.

GLENN FLETCHER - NEW ZEALAND DRUM SOLOIST YOU TUBE

  • Amazing drumming. The way he constantly changes the dynamic - even within individual bars - is just sublime. Not many people can do this!

    THE BEST.

  • I love this song it's drak but at the same time it's very bright. Brilliant stuff.

  • This is an amazing song. I like the feel and emotion here. Chris Botti is amazing, but this guy makes this song his own. ONe of my all time favorites!

  • AMAZING!

  • he would have made miles head spin...ie..I love That...what did you just play, and bill would have explained it all ,and say I could play 5 or 7,9 11....over that ...WOW

  • I wonder how Bill would've done with miles davis I think he would've done some interesting work

  • @dapunkof1975 Great thing about Miles is that he drew out the best of almost everyone he worked with. He made others great and then stepped in during the gaps. Funny that when you know what your doing you have to do so little )

  • I was at this very show. If you don't have the DVD yet, please GET IT. One of the most memorable jazz gigs I've ever witnessed. Malzarin nailed it: Patient and happy indeed. It was smiles all around that night.

  • The happiest and most patient drummer I have ever seen. To slow the feel down is far more difficult than going balls to the wall. The man desirves all the respect in the world for what he has done for his craft.

Happy retirement Bill, no more 3am airport lobbies for you.

  • I agree with you and, I didn't even know Bill played jazz, not all drummers are able, or, get it. I'm so used to seeing most great jazz drummers play their butts off and make the audiance say WOW. Along with the other players of course. I don't think I've ever seen such slow jazz drumming before with some exceptions, its great. As is Bill.

  • wow

  • amazing

  • @EriktheHermit. Well said my friend. That is what this band are amazing.

  • Great one

  • this is my favorite version of this song.

  • mine, too

  • amazing!!!!!!!!!!

  • WOW haven't seen Patrick play for many years

  • I didn't know this song was from bruford's earthwork, since the first time I listened to it was on a Bruford Levin Upper Extremities live record (BLUE nights live)

    Very good stuff

  • great sound. one of my favorites! British jazz at its finest!

  • Excellent band! One of my favorites of all time!

  • always superb musicianship here. These guys take the art of progressive patterns, technique and rhythm to new heights. More Please!!!

  • I love this band...they are AWESOME...Bill is fantastic as usual, and Patrick is the man on sax...all the musicians are on to it. MORE FROM THIS DVD PLEASE....:-)
