Private contractors can make anywhere from 250-1000 dollars a day, depending on who they're with and what they do. Most of Xe's/ Blackwater's contracts that I've seen offer from $450-$550.
I dont understand how that penetrating IED would destory a car. It would just go straight through the car, how does that stop it? How does that make it explode(unless of course it hits the gas tank), how does it form all those shrapnel holes? Isnt the idea of an IED just to be a massive explosive with lots of ball bearings and shit attached to it in order to explode and destroy anything that goes by it?
@techlogi7 spoken like a true bookworm. Most IED's are modified mortar rounds or high plastic explosives,,such as PE-4 (a russion equivalent of C-4) the plasts can be so massive that it can dissable an uparmored HUMMVEE and can wipe entire platoons of ground forces, depending on how much ordinance is used and how it's prepped. Alot of them are electrically rigged so to a cell phone ringer, so that the insurgent just as to call the cell phone and VOILA, INSANTED BODY COUNT
@techlogi7 The problem with explosive type IEDs is that they can be countered with standard armor. Even a HEAT or Tandem HEAT warhead hitting directly can be blown away by reactive armor.
An EFP is brutally simple. It's a single, massive bullet. It bypasses armor with sheer penetrative force.
take care overthere guys..my brother is in Baghdad..we are from Bosnia and fight terrorist since 1992:)..long live UK and USA:),and Republic of Srpska!!!
As a former asshole childmurderer? Stay the fuk out of this country, is that so hard? Couldn't resist the big fat paycheck? If they only gave me a day with one of you cowardous contractors ... I'd redefine the meaning of torture... That's how inventive i'd be.
Dude, chill... SOMEONE has to do the job, and this is their way of making money. They actually assist countries by doing this. And also, remember that even children in countries like those these guys are working in might even try to attack/kill the contractors and soldiers.
Yeah there is no reason that the men and woman in our army can't do this exact job. There is no reason for our country to hire private organizations for combat positions. So yeah, what reason does this contractor...mercenary have to be in iraq, money. So fuck him.
Our military obviously does not recieve the same training as these specialized private security companies so we do need them to an extent. I dont remember our soldiers being trained to protect VIPs
Ok, so we can't train some of our soldiers to protect VIPS? We don't have the capability to do that? Your logic doesn't make sense. We can pay people to do something, what makes a private party better at the job than any train soldier could be?
We can but why would we institute a whole new program that would not be in use most of the time. my logic doesnt make sense?paying specialized soldiers to do jobs our army isnt trained for isnt logical? Next you will tell me Saddam Hussein was a good leader. You are not against private contractors you are against the war.
considering how many contracting companies grew as a result of this war..they would definitely have to train a bunch of new soldiers. So as a temporary basis it would make sense, but are you saying that its not a service our army can provide? Yeah I am against this war, but I am also against contractors for separate reasons. Thats my opinion and I am entitled to it. Please don't imply that I'm an idiot, I'm not trying to do that to you. I strongly disagree with the usa supporting private armies.
Well if we did implent the services companies offer, would there use be permantently required?no so exactly like you said its temporary Not every war has suicide bombers, has terrorist groups, guirella groups.PMCs do other things then VIP protection anyway its not just because our men dont have the training its because we are spread out thin and these companies will do the job.We have men stationd in neutral countries to help them.Saudia Arabia,we came from there to fight Iraq.Whats wrong with PMCs
I'm against private armies. The idea that companies can build a private army of trained soldiers. Soldiers (trained for defense or not) loyal to a private company working for hire. So if you don't need to open that door, why do we when we could just train our soldiers to do the job.
think about it like this. Our army is big enough to take on the job in iraq. But he have it spread thin all over the world in countries that are our allies, nuetral countries and countries that pose no threat. Not to mention other men we have out such as cia personel.
I think we went in with good intentions, but at this point in time it is time to withdrawal. The terrorist that are there are fightings us because we are there. They will continue to fight us there until we leave. the dea that the media tries to plant in us that they will follow us home is ridiculous. If they wanted to attack innocent civilians like in 911 they would come to our country and do so, it's been proven many times that it is easy to do so. So it is (and has been) time to withdrawal.

That was my car, the big hole in the door was the EFP, the other holes are from the explosion.

Yes there is. There isnt enough of them. Simple as that.
Unless you want a draft...Did you not know that the troops are out numbered? The only thing keeping you out of iraq is contractors.

For every contractor doing this type of work it leave a soldier to fight on the frontline, their primary role!
skippy0033 2 years ago
its not just that they are trained differently
its the fact that using pmcs is cheaper for smaller jobs than using the military who could be off doing something more productive
