Elky is beat basically by only KK+ (and he might 4bet preflop with Kings or Aces), AQ and KQ (and not even sure, he would call the 3bet 100% of the time with KQ, i don't know the stack sizes, so if they are deep tan will call like every time with KQ but if not he may fold)

Same issue for 88,55 we can't know if they are deep enough for Tan to setmine with those hands in position

If you fold TP in 3bet pots almost every time you must be super exploitable, MR NIT.

It's impossible to fold TP after checking in that kind of spot, even maybe with the biggest nit betting because he might have a bluffing range since your check may be interpreted as weakness and therefore induce bluffs from your opponent :)

how can it be an awesome play? its fucking pointless to call with QJs if ur gonna fold when u hit your pair.... if hes expecting to get a nice straight/flush draw flops then he doesnt have the odds to call there.

@emotionzor its an impressive play. Most people would have gone broke there. He either put Alwyn on QA or an overpair. My guess is that after playing with each other for some time, he figured Alwyn wouldnt bet that flop unless he has QJ beat, and if he does have QJ beat, theres no way that Elky could have bought that pot anymore on the flop.

You have to keep in mind that some pros can smoothcall a 3 bet preflop with KK,QQ, or AA and let you hang yourself.

@emotionzor ...what are u talking?...he didnt call...there is nothing about odds...he 3bets and gets called...he figuered something and in a pokergame, especially on this level elky plays and live, are odds are just a bit of a factor for decisions...i think u never played on a tough pokertable...sounds like a low-buy-in-comment for me...try to qualify for an ept and try to beat elky with ur pot-odd-calculations...gl for u..u will need it

@zzgamamagzz In a nuthshell, Elky set a trap with a weaker hand, and Tan fell into the trap, except tan had a better hand. And were Elky a weaker player, he would have been really happy because he thinks Tan fell into his trap. This was a really sticky situation, but he managed to read Tan and see that Tan had a better hand and folded. Thus not thorwing away even more money. Most players would not have been able to read Tan as well as Elky did.

I'm sure elky read he had two picture cards, An ace definately and another picture card. Tam wouldnt of bet if he didnt have a queen because chances are elky had two picture cards and probaly a queen being one of em.
