@Beeirish1965 Its not necessarily the point, Yes they did use alot of the cups to make the video and it was for advertisement, but the fact that all The starbucks stopped using paper cups for one day for those who brought in their own mugs, is what is making a difference. Its like when everyone turns of electricity for one hour.. It may have not been a huge difference, Its showing everyone about making the initiative to recycle and use reusable products whenever you can.

You just can't please some people. It's not about selling mugs, although the same day a great discount will be given on reusable mugs. They don't even care if you buy or use one of their mugs, use whatever cup you have at home. It's about reducing the amount of landfill we create together. A discount is given every time you use your own mug. Starbucks pioneered the use of post consumer products in their paper cups and now that technology is open to all.

@Canouver All of the cups used were previously used cups, which thousands of New Yorkers showed up to trade in and to take a pledge to use a free reusable tumbler they were each given. If you look at :24 you can see how dirty some stain some of the cups were.

These cups were previously used so it wasn't like they were using new cups. They GAVE AWAY reusable cups to all who came and participated. And since then, they've spent the money to pioneer the new tech to make these wax-paper cups recyclable to use again in new cups. So maybe you should do a little research before you start throwing stones.

If you mean the paper cups, then Starbucks is spending millions every year and is pioneering the road in recycled paper cups as they have for the last decade. And recently found a way to recycle even their paper cups.
