  • Atlanta is on Facebook now.

  • im trying to find ATLANTA's version of " orange blossom special/rocky top" it was the flip side of this on 45 if any one finds it could you please email me kriskristepher66@gmail.com

  • @SIRUSBELL It was the flip side of another song. It was a clear blue 45. I have it in storage. Can't promise the condition is any good, but I could try and transfer it to PC.

  • Atlanta just gives you goosebumps seeing them perform - they're so awesome !!!!!!

  • So four songs, Sweet Country Music, Pictures, Good Time Chariot and Can't Hear You are all on iTunes if you type in Atlanta.

I love this band, mainly because my dad was the lead guitar for Atlanta. The only country music I like

  • I saw them in concert for 4th of July at Idle hour park in Phenix City, Al. I love this group, still have my autographed picture. It was so cool when they all walked out at dusk in those White Tux's with tails and top hats. Man, I loved it. Great songs, talent and sexy men.. We actually hung out after the concert in the park. They were all so friendly with their fans... and down to earth. Thanks, Strawberry( back in the day...)

  • @lmbabygirl1037 YES INDEED WITH WPNX THAT WAS A KICK BUTT TIME

  • @SIRUSBELL So you were there, too. How cool is that? That was the way back in the day. I miss those days, when music was real music.

  • @SIRUSBELL oh yes it was blast , my dad was one the djs that put the show on.......

  • Damn...I don't think I've heard this song since it came out...great one!!

  • Saw this great group when I was a young soldier stationed at Ft Hood, Tx! Followed them through their short career and now looking to find their old albums on CD! Wow!

  • HEY EVERYONE.

It's Ashley, my account bradpaisleyluver9 is no longer active and this is my new account!

So if there are any requests or anything just let me know. thanks!

  • Can anyone help me get CD copies of their two Lps ...I saw them several times and once after seeing the Eagles on the long Run tour and I was more impressed with Atlanta !!!...I have met Jeff the harp player and he is such a nice guy ...I would gladly pay for your trouble ..email me at gregorylee888@yahoo.com thanks ...

  • Google "Magic Man Entertainment" and you might recognize a white tux....Bill went from "musician" to Magician"! We have a full-time entertainment business in Atlanta!

We also lost Allen Collay this year. Tony's ministry is called "A Better Way Ministries" and is still going strong in Peachtree City, GA.

Most the guys from the band are still in the Atlanta area. We had a 20 year reunion in '03 that was beyond awesome. Many, many memories...

thanks for posting all these videos!!

  • Tony Ingram was personnal friend of mine and I was with them on one of the debut trips. I lived in Atlanta at the time but had gotten to know Tony while he was playing in Ky. He lived for a time in Corbiin Ky. I have tried many times to find Tony and have not been able to. I lost contact when I moved. If you could help me I sure would love it.

  • @mckiddy55 I,m sorry to tell you,he passed away,he became involved with youth ministry,I wish I could tell you more, but that is all I know, and that he was born in 1953,if any of the family comes back here to the Carolina,s I will try to get more information.

  • loved all their songs.

  • I remember seeing these guys in the 80s. They were a great group! Wish music like this was still made. Have been looking for this on CD for years!

  • FYI ,they were better than alabama, thats why RCA bought the rights from MCA to the band ,because

ATLANTA was stiff competion for ALABAMA at the time both bands were very young

    newbies,,,and history was written

  • Hit #9 in Billboard, 8-6-83. Rick Jackson called 'em an Alabama clone. They really weren't. God bless!

  • two of the members passed away ,,,,,i loved atlanta but there will be no more ,,,no market !

  • please see the ATLANTA on TV video too

  • Can someone please upload "Pictures" from the album / cd? My favorite Atlanta song........thanks.

  • If you like ATLANTA write, email, call MCA Records in Nashville...make them release a greatest hits cd!!! There is no reason why a group that sold 1.7 million records should not have anything on the market now. PLease do it! Pass it on.

  • What ever happened to this country band? Too bad they are not around any more as they were really great!

  • My step dad was the drummer in Atlanta. I can remember going on tour with them when I was in 2nd grade. I had the hugest crush on Bill (the pianist) He always had a way with us kids doing magic at the dinner table of what ever diner we happened to be in. Another one of my favorite songs was Pictures. I would always tease my step dad about him sounding like a girl when he sung the back up "Oh pictures". We had a lot of great times back then. Too bad they had to break-up.

  • A very under-rated group. LOVED them.

  • @jmlee4777 tell your stepdad that i loved their music and wish they were still singing. i had the tapes but misplaced and ddon't have player anymore. Do they have any of their stuff coped onot cd that I could buy?

    debra gadebra@knology.net

  • My aunt used to babysit us a lot, she would sit us on the couch, dim all the lights and play Atlanta, Alabama and Bob Segar. My brothers hated it but it is some of my fondest memories. The music made back then was just purer and left its mark on you.

  • Used to have the cassette....dang I miss it. Thanks for posting it.

  • This is a great song. I remember it hearing it on the radio before all music sold out.

  • you're a bastard but i LOL'd

  • Been looking for this song for several years. Thanks for posting.

  • Great song and great group had the opportunity to actually see them in concert whent they were together and wish they still were no not very popular but still a great group of guys. This is one of my favorite songs by them and of course sweet country music (there big hit)

  • Good Song, wish there were songs like this today

  • I remember this song from Jr. High School. Growing up in Tennessee it was played on the local counrty stations.

  • I can certainly relate to this one!! lol

  • Thank You for posting this!!!! This is wonderful!

I had this tape when I was about 17 or 18. Would love to have it on CD.

I have searced for it many times.

  • I looked for a long time but never found a cd, did by both thier albums off Ebay though.

  • OMG thank you so much for posting this!!! My mom absolutely loves this song and I played it for her so she could her it a final time. She died last week, but because of you she got to hear her song before she left. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

  • Atlanta made 2 albums. The 2nd Album had hits like My Sweet Eyed Ga. Girl. She Will- Long Ago Shoes. Why Not Tonight. She's the Best Friend I've ever Had. They Also did the music track to the movie Ellie With Shelly Winters. There is a lot of great songs they did that are not posted yet. They boys did about 300 tour Dates a year. They played a lot of Fair dates and Toured with groups like the Oak Ridge Boys. Fan Fair was Huge for the boys and they loved their fans. JT

  • Thanks a million. This song brings back a few memories for me too. Love the harmony they had.

  • He was lead vocalist on this song. Everybody in the band was labeled as vocals, and they each took turns singing lead on different songs on the album. Most of the lead vocals were sung by Bill Davidson,Tony Ingram, and Brad Griffis. Hope this helps.

  • I just discovered today that Atlanta's lead singer, Brad Griffis, is now singing with a gospel quartet from Columbus, Ohio called "Side By Side". Interesting...!

  • P.S. I just stated that Brad was their "lead" singer. I checked back with my on-line source; it only describes him as a "vocalist". So I'm not sure if he was actually their LEAD vocalist. Somebody out there probably knows. Please correct me if I'm wrong! Thanks!

  • thank you

  • Thank you SO much for adding this. SO many memories of singing along to this as a kid.
