i love when people from the rock and roll world, normally considered drop outs and stoners, share the stage with with people who normally don't give them the time of day and rip it in half. Morello is a very conscious person, very aware of politics from a historical standpoint. it's frustrating, because even trying to get this short yet concise message to Obama, he's nearly interrupted about 3 times, when they should really be letting him speak.
Where is it written that those who don't work have any right to the fruits of the labor of those who do? You get more of what you reward and less of what you punish. We've been punishing business and throwing money at those who don't work for 40 years, and we are seeing the results of those policies. 15 trillion in stimulous and counting.....
@eagleidahomusic You're confusing the current state of disparity between the elite class and the have-nots with the welfare system (which is an entirely separate debate). The pissed off legions of the Occupy movement are'nt saying "those guys have accumulated billions, I have accumulated hundreds - I want some of their money." Rather, the movement is saying "those who have accumulated billions have used their wealth to rig the system to fuck everybody who hasn't already accumulated billions."
