Some of you say cold brakes dont reduce friction, only hot brakes do. There are some brakes that do operate better when they are a little warm.And many of you here are saying that when they are hot is when they go out because of boiling brake fluid, true,but thats not likely in a quality system.Most of the time its gasses that form between the pads and the disk due to heat.this reduces friction.(im trying discuss this not argue.im sharing what learn in brakes class.Some of you like to learn.)

Cold brakes had NOTHING to do with this. A brain that was apparently not at full operating temperature was the cause. It is a common accident scenario that those engaged in spontaneous horsepower demonstrations commonly underestimate the distance required to decelerate.

@hejjagedu If you have race compound pads, they start to fully operate once warmed. Obviously, they'll still lose effectiveness if overheated. The guy is still an idiot for giving it that much gas in a tight carpark. :)

@KillaPillaP woah man, the only brakes that work better at high temp are carbon on carbon brakes and they are not legal for a road bike. In fact they are only used in prototype Motorcycle/Car series like lemans motogp and formula 1. They are about the only brakes that need to be extremely hot to bite.. anything else should still bite fine at low temps. I dont even think the public can even buy carbon brakes they are useless when cold and extremely dangerous.
