  • waylon - you owe big bopper!!!

  • im only 13 n i think this is sum kick butt music

  • my dad's music but I still love it! Waylon, Willie, Johnny, Kris - Mount Rushmore of Outlaw Country Music

  • I am 26 years old and I am completely convinced that I was born 20 years behind my intended time. I am the only one of my friends that still rocks a record player just so I can enjoy all of my Dad's vinyl in all of its glory. RIP Waylon. You are missed a little more every day, given the current direction of "country" music.

  • @chucker625 exactly they laid the ground for the crap everybody listens to today

  • Waylon the king of outlaw music. In 2001, Waylon was playing in Tunica at Bluesville. My late wife and I had tickets. Got to the show. My wife got sick and the paramedics had to be called in. While they were attyending to my wife a security guaard got our name and address. Just be fore Christmas a large envelope arrived, with a return address Waylon Jennings, Nashville Tn. Inside was a 8 by 10 photo of Waylon signed "to Allen and Carlene, hope everything is ok, Waylon."

  • no one will ever compete...Jamey Johnson has been the closest, but still will never be on the same level as Waylon....

I hope so though, just so real country music doesn't die

  • i agree i hate to compare the two but waylons in my opinon is the best. johnny cash was great but ol'waylon was the best.

  • Come back Waylon - Country Music sure needs you right now...

  • I miss the good ol' boy...

  • Freakin awesome'

  • Get in my way...I dare you!

  • better than johnny cash

  • I think this is from " a cowboy in London " let me know if you find any recordable footage from this show

  • Man, this is a great clip. Is it available as a concert dvd or something? I'd love to have it. Thanks for putting this up!!

  • I love that steel guitar; it almost sounds like a mystical Indian sitar!

  • the rolling stones of country....waylon the best of all country performers. he always had a rock and roll edge to his playing. this is my favorite of his songs!

  • Still love him. Still miss him. Always will.

  • Waylon wrote this song on a napkin driving down the road how bad ass does it get.

  • Amen Baldbuilldog, A f'ing men. Country is nothing but pop with a twang in this age of crap. Waylon, WIllie, Hank, Bocephus, George Jones. How far times, and this shit swill passed off as music, have fallen.

  • This guy was a mans man! Remember Big Bopper & Ritchie Valens? These guys were the cats ass!

  • stop puttin all the names of shitty popcountry bands on waylon videos, almost anyone who likes waylon knows that popcountry sucks and is fake, etc..

  • we need more Waylon Jennings out there not more pop crap

  • When music was still good

  • you cant get any better than this

  • Waylon Jennings, greatest of all time!

  • When I was 12 years old at a Waylon concert, my friend raised my hand when he asked for someone to come on stage.. I remember looking into his incredible blue/grey eyes and at the same time being afaid.

Sure wish I could do that over.

  • all of u idiots talking about change are walking on the fighting side of me call it what u will this is and always will be the best music made

  • Hell yes, it doesn't get any better than this! This is country, not the country pop crap that is coming out of Nashville today.

  • waylon a true outlaw and someone who had more talent then all of the new singers and even some of the older ones put together

  • @deepwoodskentuckian yep the new "stars" today couldn't carry waylon's guitar case

  • I wanna buy this on DVD!! Waylon forever!!!

  • The sooner people stop believing in the myth of progress, the easier it'll be to understand today's musical crap.

  • waylon rocks

  • This is REAL country music!! Waylon ruled!! We even named our son after Waylon Jennings!

  • THIS IS ABSOLUTELY BOSS. SAW HIM IN 1983 ON STAGE AND AFTER ALL A SECURITY GUY TOLD ME WHERE HIS TOUR GREYHOUND WAS PARKED. AND SO I HAD THE CHANCE TO TALK TO HIM FOR A MOMENT AND GOT MYSELF A SIGNATURE ON HIS LP SLEEVE. STILL HANGS ON THE WALL.

  • @BAIRLINE You're that old, and you say "boss"?

  • fuckn ayeeee! the rumor mill, spun in nashville "hank would roll over in his grave, if he heard the way country music sounds thease days" Waylon replies with:"are you sure hank, done it this way?" snubbs nashville. fck you nashville, got too many contest winners, and sex symbols intergrained through out now days country, for me to give a damn. yeah we know you got lots of bling, and ass in ure vids. but are you sure, you are doing it the right way??? record sales are slumpin assholes.

  • man how i wish waylon and johnny were around today to give some people a kick in the rear for what they did to country we could use hank sr to

  • I'm pretty sure at some point in his life, Waylon pissed blood.

  • @lanegan94 tiger blood for sure cuz he is winning

  • i saw him in houston as a kid. willie, wayion, paul, and jesse were riding in the back of a truck to center field at the astrodome and waylon was so ripped he fell out of the truck!!! and he still put on one hell of a show!

  • Ol Moon pickin that steel ,boy I'll tell you what there's nobody that can pick like Ralph(pick it moon ) Mooney I mean nobody not Don Helms or Eddie Long Moon ur the best

  • Did u c him hear that dude ( his bandmate) in the back, then turn around and gun'im with that ol' bad ass strat. Waylon was one Hella Guitar Man.

  • @stratmesg It's a telecaster, not a strat

  • @stratmesg Yes, of course , just caught up in the video I guess. My bad.

  • Damn sure can play it though!

  • Cutting your own path is much more rewarding

  • Waylon was on the yay that day!

  • @derdelyi You should see his performance of "This Time" on Hee-Haw!! He looked terrible. Glad he was able to get sober!!

  • SO NICE TO SEE OL WAYLON

  • I will always be grateful I saw him before he passed! That was a gift and that's a fact.

  • Top 5 guitarist ever!!

  • HE , CASH & Nelson W E R E what country SHOULD have always been then & now!

  • really chugs along ..wonderful

  • i got waylons music.i dont care what goes on in nashville.

  • @supermex43 amen

  • Awesome. I can't even listen to 90% of today's country without laughing at it. It's just empty walmart crap. But this music has attitude and soul.

  • Somewhere between 1:34 and 1:50 he put on a hat? Strange.

  • oops sorry JASON DITTO!

  • Jjason, DITTO!

  • I think we can say "I don't WAYLON done it this way". Most of today's music is an embarrassment to REAL country music.

  • Great fucking song. Waylon is definitely missed.

  • forget it!! there will never be country music like this again, at least in my lifetime. thats what happens when nashville (tries) to control what is good for us!! screw nashville along with the wannabee cuntry singers. they do have a lot younger audience now.. sucks for us diehards!!!!!

  • hoss is boss!!!!

  • I just saw the movie Crazy Heart, "with Jeff Bridges, and I think the only way to arrive here in Brazil the real country music, this one played in the film and is memorable.

    Hugs from Brazil.

  • GAUD bless This AMERICAN GUITAR HERO ! WAYLON still can kick ass and blow away 95% of todays so-called guitar gods and gun slingers and ax-choppers ... Dave Matthew's and Justin Timberlake couldn't carry Waylon dirty drawers, those guys are fags...

Waylon was and still is the GD REAL McCoy ! ...... take notes want-a-bees ......

  • waylon is my all time favorite....damn wish i could have seen him live in concert!

  • Waylon, you are bad to the bone. Waylon we miss you, come back................

  • It will never get any better than this.....

  • Outlaw Country, it doesn't get any better.

  • GREATEST OF ALL TIME!

  • This is what country music should be. Waylon Jennings was cool as hell. I could not posibly fathom listening to any of the country crap that is out there today. And Im not old, I just know good music!!!

  • @AlicesChains Are you sure anyone could have done it Waylons way ! LOL love this track, but i prefer the version he performed live with johnny cash and co.

  • @AlicesChains My dad is and has been a country singer as far back as I can remember. I was never a big "country music" fan. I always liked blues and heavy metal and ABC "anything but country". But I have always liked Waylon's music.

  • @AlicesChains All of that plus he was so damn sexy, sadly missed. sj

  • @AlicesChains AMEN BROTHER!

  • @AlicesChains you are right there i try to tell everbody that what they call country now days is just a bunch of bull shit. What ever happen to good country like WAYLON, WILLIE, JOHNNY, and HANK JR.

  • @AlicesChains I hear ya, I'm trying to get into country music with this style of music and it is a pain in the tail, I guess they just dont want anymore rebels, lol.

  • @AlicesChains you do notice the irony of your statement being on this song specifically right? Since this song is recognising the differences between Waylon's music and time when looking back at Hank Williams.

  • whats with the piano plinking ..someone fucked up ..Waylon probably kicked his ass after the show !!!

  • Fuck yeah! That's the real McCoy, right there.

Glad we at least have the live recordings, but I sure miss him.

  • This is a country people.Everything else is a cheap copy. good bless you waylon.

They would have shit and fell back in it...

God bless the King of country music!

  • oooohhhhh yeaaaaah...

  • Waylon Jenningd is HARDCORE.

  • Fucking A. Waylon really had some chops. Always knew he was a great songwrtiter, but never really hear him playing like that. Love it.

  • the original guitar hero

  • It don't matter who'se in Austin

Bob Wills, Waylon and Willie are still the kings

  • The best reason WJ was one of the original outlaws. What a fantastic tune!

  • This is some GREAT! hard rock! thanks!

  • No one rocked harder than Waylon, Moon, Ritchie & the rest of the Boys on a good night. Whoop Whoop!!

  • man i miss his music!

  • Anyone who misses Waylon should check out Jamey Johnson's.....Lonesome Song album.

He is a big Waylon fan and it reflects deeply in his sound.

I'm pretty sure ol Hoss is smilen down on Jamey. Finally some true country music again.

  • Whoop Whoop!

  • Classic, Now it should be I dont think Waylon did it this away !!

  • AWESOME !~

  • I have yet to hear anyone play a telecaster as good as Waylon, man he made that thing sing...AMAZING, Hank Jr actually sings a song called "Waylons guitar"...

Waylon Jennings, greatest of all time...

  • @ragester1 You are sooooooo right!

  • What awesome lead guitar for the 1:00 minute or so. Just doesn't get any better.

  • In his live recordings of this song, the verse is left out:

    Lord I've seen the world

    with a 5-piece band

lookin at the back side of me

    singin my songs,

one of his now and then

but i dont think Hank done em this way.

this is my favorite Waylon song. Great jam. Always thought it should last ten minutes. always under 3, unfortunately

  • good call cat, we got cheated, but we take what we can get. Great Tune.

  • Waylon opened the way for so many artists! the Nashville "scene" was against Waylon and BAM! Sold over a million records! look at toby keith, and to name a hundred others; they are having fun!

  • I knew that Waylon was a great vocalist and a good song-writer, but I did not know that he was such an accomplished lead guitarist.

Great video... I miss the guy, too

  • you did know that Waylon was also an accomplished drummer and bass player, right? He played with Buddy Holly back in the day. Love this guy... even when I was hard-core-rock-only

  • id cut my arm off to be able to go back and see that in real life

  • I like this

  • Its hard to believe he's been dead for 7 years.

  • The Man.. Good Stuff. Go Hoss.

  • Ralph Moon is in a class all by himself. No one in Nashville past or present can hold a candle to that man on a steel guitar.

  • what does 'Hoss' mean? is it a reference to someone or is it his nickname?

  • It's just a general nickname for a man. Sort of like the term "dude"

  • thanks!

  • Waylon often refers to himself as "Hoss" in his songs. Listen to "Bob Wills Is Still the King" and "If I can Find a Clean Shirt".

  • true American legend, Miss ya Hoss

  • Waylon Jennings was the greatest country singer, ever. I have much respect for others in his business, Hank Williams Sr & Jr, Willie, Merle, Reba, Dolly...all of them...but Waylon was, is and will always be my favorite singer. I really wish he'd have lived a much longer life.

  • yo solo lo conocia por los duke, pero es terriblemente bueno

  • Waylon -the one and only daddy who DID walk the line!!! This is the greatest CW-artist ever!!! Love him -and will do so to my last day! And he could really do some guitarpickin' too -listen to the end of this video! He's missed a lot by millions, and he'll be here forever!

  • I don't think that I've ever agreed so much with a post. He truly was THE Hoss!!

  • This was during his prime! Burning the candle at both ends, and figuring how to burn some in the middle too!

  • When you're Waylon, you burn 'em any damn where you want. That's why there was only one Waylon.

  • R.I.P the original outlaw Waylon you are indeed missed...

  • Great singer

  • Carrie Underwood has alot to learn.

  • The one and only... not to mention the original country outlaw R.I.P ol'Waylon

  • There will NEVER be another outlaw like that man. He will always be my hero!

  • Damn!! he had that guitar smokin!!

  • Waylon in his prime, check out 2:31 the classic guitar boogie he used to lay down.

If you don't know Waylon, you probably don't know american music.

  • What concert video is this????? Can you buy it on DVD or VHS?

  • I remember Waylon falling across my Table at the Tiki Nook Club in Tulsa ...he did love his pills ...in the 60s
