  • @UnknouN1806 On the field there is because, the disadvantage from using your feet is that the ball will still be in the game and eventually in a rebound a goal could be made. But, when you take the ball with your hands the game is stopped and you can build towards an offensive.

  • Don't land on your knees when u catch the ball let the ball land first to break your fall and don't stop shots in the ground with ur foot se ur hands use ur foot only If it's necessary , work in your spring ur kicks and throws are great so just work on ur diving technique and reflexes and you will be good:)

  • thats some good goalkeeping i also play goalie or goal keeper and im not the best i play for oakville A u12 soon to be u13 but i relised that u were 14 there thats really good for a 14 year old and also when its a low ball i see u just grab it with open legs but i recomend that u get one knee on the flour faceing towards your other legs because if u leave your legs open and if u just tap the ball itll go between your legs not trying to be mean and all also your a really good keeper

  • anyone looking for a great tip on how to kick the ball better always put the valve of the ball pointing up to the sky when you place the ball this helps with getting height and distance on your goalkicks and it also puts the logo of the ball facing you then you simply focus on watching the logo and striking the ball underneath it try it and let me know how you get on 99.9 percent success rate

  • @Simenick im a yound goalie and i train 6 days out of the week, during practice im making all these saves but when it comes to games, i just freeze up and i let stupid goals in that i know i could of blocked, how do you cope with it?

  • @roberto362 i had the same problems as you before! Maybe you need some mental training to calm you down and think clear? I would recommend you to search "Stlouisgoalkeeping mental" i searchbar, they have some great movies!

    i believe its all about self-confidence, you just need one good game, with a few good saves, and you'll get the self confidence you really need, being a goalkeeper.

    thats how it worked out with, and i'm sure it'll be the same with you.

    turns out i was too chicken to take on the real thing! and the pain i felt allowed me to know what would i feel and calmed me down :) so its all about experience and the fear of pain, i think...

  • I'm sorry...but you're kinda slow...too much time between the orange stuff (don't know how to say it in english) and the shot, it has to be faster. You should never turn your face from the ball, otherwise you'll lose sense of position and it will take more time for you to find out where the ball is after the rebound. I know I sound a bit cocky...but it's for the best man, keep on working!

  • just a few things i noticed...

    1- making saves with the feet (that lets out a huge rebound)

    2- your diving backwards.. easiest way to hit your head on the post

    to correct that stuff work on waiting for the striker to kick the ball and react to where he goes and when your diving take a step forward and you'll dive outward and land off your line and not near your post.. good luck to you :)

  • This guy is good, only problem is that he uses his feet a bit and is a bit out of position, I play for Manama Club (16th best club in Asia/Middle East) and I have to say this guy is good, but His kicks are brilliant, absolutely mind blowing, I can only get mine half way, but not as high as his

  • im sorry, but the technique displayed in this video, is actually quite bad, tough there seems to be some natural ability, you need better training, and then your ability will be truly shown. keep practising though.

  • your all round goalkeeping skills are very good but at 1:15 when your racing towards the player you make yourself as big as possible by spreading your arms and legs as wide as possible. you have spread your legs which is good but your arms are to close together!

  • @owdamien its simple really. when your diving or racing out towards the player you just react by putting your foot out. Its almost like a reflex, when you need to do it you do.

  • I like to browse GK training videos for new drills (I converted to GK about a year ago so I'm wayyyy behind the curve) and I especially like the drills starting at 1:03 and 1:30 (I'll probably start incorporating the one starting at 1:30 into my daily regimen). Well done!

    I'm impressed by your goal kicks - I still have no power on those (I can only hit mid-field with the wind at my back) on so my coach has set up garbage cans on our side of the field and to at least improve accuracy :-)

    I wasn't so sure about your technique for the low shots at your body as you just put your hands down between your legs which is dangerous as the ball could slip through your hands or you can't get them down fast enough and it can go through your legs. What I suggest is that you put one of your legs down so your knee is at the base of your standing leg so you make a 'k' shape which gets something else behind the ball if you can't get your hands down in time. Just a thought :)

  • there is a technique to a goal kick aswell as practice, jbgoalkeeping explains it in detail. didnt like the look of the nut shot lol happens to the best of us keepers on a regular basis, people may laugh at it, but if it hits your nuts and the ball stays out of the net, then you as the keeper are still doing your job :), what height are you?

  • @WilliamPriceGKSUFC i play for a team in new york its not all about your weight or force behind the ball but where you place your foot to get the most lift and its also the age like when i started kicking well i was 14 so itll catch on you just have to practice it allot maybe for 30-40 mins a day till you get the foot perfect

  • @WilliamPriceGKSUFC you just need to practice very often, i did goal-kicks maybe 2 days a week and got better and better each time ;) i was 14 year old on this video, but now i am 16

  • @Simenick im 16 and goal kicks are easy its all about relaxing and keeping your eye on the ball u try too hard and it will spin off. my kicks go about 3/4 of pitch of floor out my hands they reach there other goal lol

  • tell him to get his weight on his toes so he can dive forwards and save with his hands. His weight is on his heels everytime you shoot and that is why he keeps using his feet.

  • Its alright. But son when you dive, stop swinging your arms back and then forward unless its an extreme full stretch dive. Swinging your arms just makes you dive slower. It takes away reaction time. Other than that its okay.
