This so called conflict between US and Israel is primarily to fool people.

Israel is insisting on settlements while US is opposing it, to pretend in front of the international community that US is concerned for Palestinians. This way they can pressure Iran against nuclear or whatever other reasons they seek.

I'm not talking in favor Iran regime (ps. I'm Iranian myself), but I think Israel do need US at the end.
