These people no nothing of beauty or sophistication., yes okay they are the under dogs but they are nothing but scavengers.Like a lot of what is good in this world there are those out there who wish to destroy it, and at the end of the day this is one such thing.Ships have a soul and a heart., it is hard to explain unless you have served in one?
the tragedy here is that the most amazing ocean liner of her time was carved up by - you guessed - INDIAN scrap merchants
the thought of those little brown vermin cutting up such a majestic ship makes my blood boil, we need to stop the rise of india as a world power, but the question is HOW? i suggest sanctions and even possible military action
this was the most beautifull cruser ever..I was in the last trip befor it exploted in Miami, I have have beed in many others and none of them have the beauty of the SS Norway..is really a shame see her diying like that
I've asked that question so many times. You'd think they could have at least drydocked her and kept her as a restaurant/hotel/entertainment center. It's heartbreaking that she's now gone. I'll never forget the happy times I had while cruising the Caribean.
I sailed on the Norway in '85 and it's sad to see her in this condition. She's definitely had her day and is probably obsolete compared to the new ships, but to see such a beautiful ship destroyed is heartbreaking.
A number of years ago I spent some time as a musician on the Norway. I speak for many people who would agree that the Norway was the most beautiful ship ever made. My memories of seeing the Norway at anchor before her late 90's "remodeling' are vivid and unforgettable. She truly was a beautiful Blue Lady. Seeing videos of her last days are like watching a funeral. Why would anyone want to destroy something so historic and beautiful?
Whats amazing is that there always talking to ther passengers telling them to not pollute the ocean but yet they take the ship to the breakers while its full of oil and aspestos. If the ship does get broken up they will have kids 13 years old breaking the ship apart and they get their backs broken and have to live in tight quaters that arent heated or cooled and what is their matress made from... the sections of metal slabs that come from the ships.
Don't be sad ship lovers you probably have a piece of her in your house as a brand new shiny appliance

Can't believe they let those little rodents cut the ship up. I reckon a crack team of heroes should've stolen the ship and sailed it to safe harbour.

The France really was a beautiful ship, before the addition of two extra decks, that the Norway had.
It's a mess now.

There is a lot of asbestos insulating board on this ship. It will kill the unprotected workers at Alang

Why can't ships like these be preserved? Have we not learned the values of that yet?

The Norway is being scrapped now though, See my channel for pictures and discussion.
Boycott NCL, and follow Reuben Goosen's lead, following her illegal sale to Alang.

Bunch of idiots allowing this glorious ship to be dismantled - India and NCL should hang their head in shame.
