@TecWhizJr I've seen the "german" style super arch baroque bows as well. I know that my teacher at Otterbein received a Baroque bow and it looked exactly like this. I mean it is probably like an imitation of the feel because it definitely has a different center of gravity and is much lighter than the modern bow.

is It is a baroque bow LSO is famous for doing historically accurate performances, sometimes including gut strings rather than the steel ones here. Makes sense that Rinat would be using a period bow for this piece being a part of LSO

@hkoncelik I doubt this is a period bow, as baroque bows are arched. Mr Ibragimov is holding somewhat past the frog, where modern bassist hold it, as it is an imitation of the period style technique.

From the looks of it, it's a baroque style bow (the ones they used before the modern design was adopted). The stick curves away from the hair meaning you have to use your thumb to keep the tension of the hair taught.

@divinexbrutality I think it's not... it's a normal-very-good-quality-non-g­erman bow, but holded from a position that gives him more control.
