was it true that the old daneelectro basses were terrible? because i've read somewhere that John Entwistle of the who used one and said that the strings weren't very durable.

These basses are real gems. They're dirt cheap but play like a thousand bucks. By the way, where'd you get that strap? I'd like to get one like it for my Danelectro

For the strap, it's an old fender strap, nothing special, it's just the strap i use at home when i need one...

yea i put nylons on mine and it sounds very deep and vintage.

This is the original strings that Danelectro has set. In my opinion, Flatwounds or nylons would achieve a true vintage sound.
