@FrapsYou Ohh wow. A kit to build your own flying machine. What's next? Instant air plane? just mix the engine, the wings, the body and add some hot water and Voila! Airplane ready in two minutes.
Looks scary...If this plane was certified for flight, then I would fly it as is :-) Nonetheless, I humbly suggest an extended wingspan. As a pilot, I'd like to see the V2 speed reduced to a crawl for safety :-) But then that might put it over the stupid FAA limit...so safety is reduced to stay under that "ULTRALIGHT" limit...BahhHumbug!!! = MAJOR FAIL!!!!!! PEACE
This is from the dreams of all kids! Beautiful! Watching you all fly so high in such small planes kept me thinking of Icarus...Fly safe and not too close to the sun.
These are definitely not American..... American registrations start with "N". According to CFR Title 14 FAR Part 103, these planes would be too heavy to qualify as an "Ultralight" to the FAA in the USA. Max weight for a US ultralight is around 250lbs. It also does not require a registration, or you to be licensed to fly it. There are other restrictions on where and when you can fly it though.
@MorteWulfe Glide characteristics would be fairly good - the light weight and streamlined closed cockpit design should allow a lift/drag ratio of at least 9:1, or on par with a Cessna 150. You would definitely be able to deadstick it - the control surfaces seem quite large and it looks very responsive at takeoff speed. Check out the website.
on the 2nd vid viewing .i'm getting to like this little plane .I t kind of grows on you .I can honestlly say i see a fast little plane that could fun to fly.
Nice ,fast ,very esponsive .The only thing that bothers me is the fact that it looks flimsyor for want of a better word don't look too stong to me.pull a few Gs and are the wings gonna stay put?
Really nice piece of work - next one from Czech is allmetal Merlin HV100 w.youtube.com/watch?v=M3kL-11APaA should be ultralight and microlight too. I could give more info if anybody interesting.
nice aircraft probably quite fuel efficient because of the clean lines and small engine now about flying skills i would say that flying is completely different than driving and requires way more skill not given to all i think for instance when landing and nearing the runway one only has mere seconds to decide either to abort or land you cannot slow down to mucht until you are on the ground i know what i am talking about i have been taking lessons on the real thing

I like the VW 1600 engine or similar, because its cheep to buy, and there are lots of info about how to restore them. But i might consider other engines aswell.
Low wing.
If possible i want a plane that has been built alot, because then its easy to find info if when needed.
Ok, so we made a fucking huge mistake by letting 99% of the drivers not knowing shit about driving and having no skills at all to do it, but would this mean we'd do the same with flying? No I dont think so.
Very nice hobby plane... maybe in the future someone can make a composite mold for the fuselage and cut down on weight even more. It will be alot faster.
Jumping the fence is intent to hurt someone, I am merely referring to the possibility of operator error or a mishap where a plane fails and lands in your back yard. when a car breaks down it stays on the road or pulls off to the shoulder. The planes in the vid are awesome and I love the video, but my post was in reference to someone else suggesting everyone commute like this. Do you really want a plane flying over your house every 20 seconds? You said it best, think before you type.
Nice airplane and appears to fly very well. However, no way does it qualify as an ultralight under FAA rules: it is too heavy and too fast for a legal UL. Looks like fun to fly, though!
Ah c'est vraiment super votre avion cher monsieur le bricoleur il est vraiment excellent et je trouve que c'est des engins qui ont un bel avenir devant eux .bravo et bon courage .
Is it possible to modify the plane a bit to have a passenger behind the pilot? If so perhaps increase the hp a bit by using 55hp engine instead of 50?
With composite material that would be a fine part. Ultra-light and with great performances. So it would be perfect for the 120kg class in Germany. Perhaps a bit like silence-aircraft.de. Could you not just use this design and produce an equal plane of fiberglass? Asking Price € 25,000 € to 30000?
Very impressive..so add to it a diesel engine to reduce the fuel consumption,or may be PV covered wings, with additional generator and folding under carriage too & then go down the RC shop & add on a few gyros, i think they were used first on aircraft in the 1920's or 30's..but off course..you can only do soo much to get round the Muppet with the stick texting his wife, when some down draft or other knocks him into the local landscape / parking lot or shopping mall..to be human is to err !
Cool idea for people flying instead of cars but honestly I am afraid of half the yahoos out there behind the wheel imagine some psycho nutjob flying over your neighborhood while your kids are outside playing the back yard. :( No thanks. That being said, this is a cool vid.
@Skizzokiter Yeah but is that same psycho nut job behind the wheel of a car (which weighs A LOT MORE than an ultra light) any safer?? Won't he just crash into the front of your house or run your kids over on the sidewalk? Think about that one. The idea of ppl flying planes is where its at when you really consider things correctly.
@Sviolinist Hence why in my initial comment I mentioned being afraid of half the cukoos driving, so you are right on that one, also my kid plays in the back yard so they would have to take out the whole house to get to them!! : )
