I read how to do that in a magazine about 30 years ago although the pony tail is supposed to be right on top. By cutting it that way it adds layers although the edge around still might need a snip or two.
Thanks Mgabbyb, I really do hate hairdressers after going for a soft perm over 16 years ago and ending up looking like a poodle dog. I wore a hat for weeks :(
I think if I wanted it real short then I would brave the hairdressers but I would probably need vodka and valium first lol
