I was not execpting this in the theaters when I saw the movie. But this is one of my favorite moments. Jim was an ass in this. And I felt sorry for Spock. Zachary did such an amazing job as him. He really understood the character. To think that spock has the strength to snap jim`s neck is so cool and scary at the same time. Uhura has a hell of a boyfriend.

J.J.Abrams was doing something new and when you reboot a dying or dead fanchise you must change certain things. It has to be a fresh thing. Otherwise you`ll end up with a crappy movie like the 1998 Pyscho. Plus the characters are younger than their tv selves so their gonna be different. More emotional. I quite enjoyed seeing Spock loose it.

The only way to shake them off of their apathy- was through aggression. Kirk got Spock pissed in order to get his first officer back- not to commandeer command of the ship like the 2009 movie.

TOS kirk did it to save Spock

2009 kirk did it for command of the ship.
