Everytime I hear James Blunt's "You're Beautiful", I'll always think of Charmaine. It's just too think about now... Such a beautiful person with sooo much potential in life :-((
It's so unfortunate that someone like charmaine died in this way in these extreme circustances. She was so beautiful,so young and very professional.May she find all the peace she needs in a better place(heaven)with god. She is in my thoughts. R.I.P darling Charmaine.
So sad, what a beautiful young woman.People need to realise that depression is a disease.Apparently her friends are saying she recently changed medications and this MAY be a contributing factor.Either way a dreadful loss!
Whether it is the sudden and unexpected death of a known personality or a jane doe, I saddens me to see such a life cut short. If only there was something more we could have done? If only...
She was a good person. Sounds like she was feeling alienated and isolated in Sydney and even though she had got the career she wanted, she wasn't willing to be separated and loose her strong connection with Perth.
Maybe her boyfriend split up with her, and mayeb this pushed her over the edge. She did mention him being a key in helping her settle.
The death of Charmaine is a tragic and extremely sad event, and the news has shocked everyone tonight.
Losing someone as talented as Charmaine at such a young age leaves many of us speechless. She was a fantastic television reporter and presenter, and her abrupt departure from us will be felt by many across the state, and the country, for some time to come.
Rest in peace Charmaine. You will definitely be missed!
You'll notice they never report suicides in the press unless they absolutely have to. It's a little bit of media ethics, as studies have shown it often results in domino effect which only goes to show how suggestible some people are.
I don't want the following to detract to the tragedy that's occurred, but unfortunately the report details (or lack there of) is the double standards that the media plays. If it was a celebrity or businessman/women, we'll clearly hear about it being suicide (imagine if it was Ben Cousins...).
Yes I 100% agree. I felt it was a double standard also. Because she worked for the media and her suicide may be partially job related. So they media were trying to protect themselves from any tough questions about the pressure on young female news readers to be pretty and stay young etc. Or whatever the reason might be. But im sure the truth will come out eventually.
I honestly don't think so. As someone else said, the media tries not to report suicides because it encourages others to follow (although it's hard to understand).
The weather and sport are presented from Perth, and we always get our own bulletin, whereas on weekends all the other cities share the one bulletin. So it's not such a bad arrangement.
Does anyone have footage of 10 perths news the monday after it & if they had a montage of her?

What sadness!!!!
There is always hope.Perhaps not immediately, but certainly it may become marginally better.
