@hockeyer4ever Apparently synthetic ice surfaces do wear out your blades faster (though some have a type of "lubricant" you put on them to speed them up (by cutting down on the resistance of the surface), so I assume this would help.
Not sure how much of a difference there actually is in terms of wear. I do know that it's close, but not the same as ice. Of course, that could be easily overlooked if you had the set up this guy has.
@TheWitchOvAgnesi Ive tried synthetic ice sufaces it wears your skates out very fast I was on it for 30 minites and had to get my skates sharpend afterwards.
@hoopref95 nothing it stays pretty much the same. Sometimes though, even in California it gets cold and in the morning there is actually frost on the rink so its pretty sick
cool im jelus, but i hate plastic ice we havesom plastic ice down by the ice rink,i dont like it,but still im relly jelus and i supose you get use to it
You need a roof with lights next...then some mesh netting from the boards to the roof...pillars could support the roof in a pavilion like fashion. Then you are in the shade and it will keep the rink and players cooler.
no i'm white and 55 and your remarks are racist to say the least assuming blacks have no interest in hockey.i wanted to make a rink in my backyard and get some ideas.spoiled rotten rich folks.
Synthetic ice is GARBAGE. The only reason to use something like it, is because you live in California wher you can't maintain ice. Guess if you lived in California, your skills won't matter anyhow -- when is the last NHL player come from Califonria?
You ever think that they're just a family that loves the sport? probably not because you're a mutant idiot. I play hockey for fun, and because i love the sport, not because i have the "big dreams" of the NHL.
California is a pretty popular spot for hockey with the Sharks/Kings.
Skills only matter if you go on to the big show? Are you an NHL'er since you have real ice? Sounds like your jealous we can play hockey outdoors in shorts and a T shirt all year round. And for your reference, here are a few players from California, including Brooks Orpik who won the cup last year. Try not to be such a nozzle.
NHL Players from California Chris Ahrens Ralph Barahona John Blue Noah Clarke Craig Coxe John Emmons Craig Ferguson Tim Friday Gabe Gauthier Matt Hervey Ryan Hollweg Mike Lampman Ray Macias Lee Norwood Brooks Orpik
Thats pretty good, now should I go through the NHL players from Ontario, or how about maybe just from the Toronto area? That would probably still be ten times anything here easily, probably more
I would estimate that would cost at least around $50,000 for the entire thing. Most artificial ice costs at least $20 a square foot. And then you have the boards and everything else, so it may even cost like 60 grand.
lmao i have the same rink as them just it's real ice with a chiller and we only use in winter it's sick but im so jealous you guys can use yours in summer
Whats wrong with having money? I am broke, but if I did have some cash this is exactly how I would spend it, on my kids so they can play the best game in the world. While this inspires me to go make a lot of money, you will continue to be broke and bitter, hating others out of jealousy. You are weak sauce my friend.
@ApplesQ Don't apologize to this envious jag. Good for you that you can afford the nicer things in life. What that idiot doesn't understand is that you spending money creates jobs for people who actually want to work.
I'm surprised that you didn't video the kids skating for us to see a live demonstration. Is that water being sprayed down?

I don't know, but I saw a video of this online. It looks pretty sticky. You'd be better
off with something like EZ Glide 350 or IcePro, if you're willing to pay a hefty price.
