As I read through the comments, I noticed that someone mentioned that registering a skyline in the US requires more than putting on a rear antifog lights and other cosmetic stuff. Why in the country where there are lots of V8million engines it is so hard to make a straight six streetlegal?
fuck driving this EVERYDAY.... this is obviously a one off ride, not your ideal everyday (run to the grocery store) kind of tuner ride, but never the less... one HELL OF A BEAST! in other words, just a weekend car :)
TO ALL THE IDIOTS ASKING HOW TO GET ONE OF THESE YOU CAN IMPORT THEM ONCE THEY ARE 15 YEARS OLD WITH NO PROBLEMS AT ALL. That's how it works in Canada at least. LOL
The R33 is importable to the US, there was a company that did some crash testing on them some years back and they passed safety standards, they were gonna do the same thing with the R32s and 34s, but never got to it before the rule was changed...the R32s and 34s that were already imported were grandfathered in...theres all you would want to know in an article posted under Ebay Guides.
Nice vid. You know the great thing. You can buy an already imported Skyline R33 GTR in britain for only £6,000. But this obviously isn't new and has high milage etc. For a decent 1 it costs you around £10,000. When i have money im up for getting a Skyline or Pulsar GTi-R. And the cheapest you can get a pulsar for is £3,500. Aout £6000 for a decent 1. If i get the pulsar i plan to swap the SR20 for an RB26 ;) The RB will give me approx 70+hp and probably about 40+lbs of torque. Whatta Hot Hatch.
I have a 99' Skyline R34 GTR with about 650 hp to the wheels.. This thing is crazy fast and drives as smooth as it gets.. My Skyline is possibly the best car I have.. A close second in my 2006 STI with about 420 +hp to the wheels.. The only thing that sucks is that I can only drive these cars when I'm in a deep sleep..=(
@Snickare88 its the anti lag system...to put is simply its unburnt fuel igniting with heat from the exhaust...anti lagg is used to stop turbo lag by injecting unburnt fuel to the turbos during gear change
stop dreaming about a 3300lbs unperfect awd car. 2 door subaru with a legacy 2.5 with some bolt ons will do. get an old audi 5000, ther not lemons if u have mechanical skill....2.3 liter inline 5 is a hidden beast
@yba202 You wouldnt happen to know if they still allow a few into the states would you? Or were they all restricted when the whole grey import thing went to pot?
@HolyShitBobMcBob It was RBmotoring and Motorex. At the time RBmotoring was around the US Govt would only allow 15 to 18 complete skylines in. Other skylines brought in were shipping in as parts then assembled in the US.
@loopydoopi i dont think its as hard as ppl think i just met some guy who has a R33 here in tx he said it was easy and that he dont know what ppl are talking about that u can not have them
these cars are sofuckin elusive, first u have toimport, then u have toget it inspected, then u haveto get it made for us emissions, get the car registered as a us car and all this other shit. i want an r34 gtr so badly tho, hopefully ill get one one day
we have a surplus of wrx's and civics here in southern California. To own and drive a skyline over here is a big deal. Your pretty lucky to see GTR's everyday :P
the gtr is very special to austrailia as the r32 gtr was the reason aus touring car championship changed to v8 supercars ( a 2 horse race agasint chev and ford)
because chev said the gtr was makeing there cars look very very slow infact the gtr won every race it ever competed in the japaneseing and austrailian touring car championships, r32s were sold in dealerships skylines are the most common sports car on our roads then wrxs and silvias which are also common then supras and finally evos
japanese* championship sorry, but yeah we are very lucky aus also got late model rx7s that the us never got and many models like the toyota chaser have become common in recent years we are also overun by soarers, for japanese sports cars austrailia is the third best place in the world after new zealend ( like an aussi cannada) they have NO! import laws at all and have an even bigger selection of rare japanese sports but sadly we are more ristricted as our govenment suports domestic shitboxs
haha sounds like the US. Modern American car are pathetic in my opinion except for Ford. 90s sports cars like the 350x, Supra, rx7s and silvia (240sx in america) have been pretty big here and civics overrun the place. Now that the Rally scene is blowing up with the Xgames the awd cars are getting more attention. I see at least 3 modified wrx's a day and a evo every once in awhile. The US never got to experience GTRs but there is a little over a 100 imported legally here. When you see one...
Its a big deal. I have only seen one skyline in my lifetime and it was a gorgeous GTR r33 and looked exactly like this one in the video. (saw it in newport beach which is exactly south of Huntington, so it might actually have been the Dsport GTR) I personally like the r32 and plan on importing one in about two or three years. The only reason skylines are not as popular is because of the process of making it street legal here in the states.
its not that expensive to import the older skylines its just people are fucking lazy to get em legal. there would be no way for me to import a r34 in California. Good luck getting a Godzilla bro
@GordonCalderwood how far u along with the wages i gave up and just bought an rb25 for my 240 not quite a skyline bout that skyline power is greatttttttttttttttttttt
7:07 even though the car basicly doesnt have any wildbody tunning ,,,,,, maaaan who cares about the budy tunning when u c a gt-r the rear rounded lights are jst enough to make you go crazy !
So many people like you keep saying the R33 are disappointing when really they have a certain special Masculine look about them, just have to mod them right and they look Sexy as hell. all Skylines look Hot when modified right.

Dude, they have been legal since 1997 when MotoRex first opened up. But not anymore; only 113 Street Legal Skylines were brought in since the closing of MotoRex in 2005; 70 being R33s (GT-R/GTS models).
@wudecki because they cant handle that a car with less than half of the litres, will woop there butt all day everyday
