That is correct. They are massive. But seemed so gentle. When I was shark diving the groupers were hanging out with the sharks. I don't understand why the sharks didn't try to eat them and instead went for the chum we were feeding them. Hawaii has nice snorkeling. I have heard that the diving is now as nice though. Where are you located? I could maybe recommend some near by places to try diving.
I live here in Texas so I have to actually travel a bit to get anything remotely worth my time. I prefer caribbean diving. I loved Honduras, St. Thomas, and there is plenty in the yucatan.
Don't these groupers get up to 400 pounds?
