Thanks! Yes, this is in Ohio. We still have that camera in my parents' game room but I think it has got bad capacitors as it doesn't work right anymore.
Was it beta or VHS? Its amazingly big compared to my sony dvd handycam. I remember my dad got a Sony 8mm cassette camera when I was born in '91. It was one of the smallest they offered then, and it still measured about 12.5 inches long and 6 inches tall! These old cameras had great quality pictures though!
This was a full-sized VHS...it was a Sears brand "Series LXI" which we got at the Randall Park Mall in Cleveland. Before my parents bought it we used to rent a VHS camera from the video store and we filmed 8mm sound movies before that.
Wow, small world, I work at Sears at Great Northern selling electronics. Of course now we sell Hard Drive and DVD handy cams, however we still carry MiniDV camcorders and VHS tapes!
I borrowed a similar Series LXI full-size VHS camcorder from a friend's parents to do a high school video project in 1997. Unfortunately I didn't keep a copy of that video for myself!
The video and sound quality of this camera you used seems to be really good! I was almost able to get a 1982 video camera from my high school. It used a separate VCR that comes with it.
my first fan that started my collection i bought new in 1996 it was a 6" windmere fan that i bought at K mart. i lost it when i moved in 2003 :(

"but they are in my parents' attic..."
...and I'm sure they're so thrilled. :-)
Sorry, couldn't resist--I still have crap at my parent's house as well. It's an affliction with all of us, isn't it?

When I moved to Texas I really only could take what fit in my Grand Marquis...there are still some things there I need to bring home.
