I use to said about such job that the neat goes with the amount of cable ties used.
Someone with experience on cabling would say that EVERY cable ties should be positioned at one length of another cable ties not cut (new one).
And last word on cable ties, I know from documents that we as data engineers are not allow to run cables perfectly parallel on long runs and to tight to much zip ties around bundle, and not too many, of course.
I have more that 4 year experience in this field, and what he is done is quite a piece of cake.
If you look carefully... someone with experience would say something like... you CANNOT do something else with those cables that running them straight, not twisted at all; because those are CAT6, (look how thick those are!)
Another thing is that just looking at the amount of cable ties he used! That is to hold in place cables which otherwise are looped, twisted.
The problem with this kind of malarkie, is that when things stop working right and you have to debug things, this clean job goes right out the window and gets tore up all to hell, to restore any kind of function to the system. I've wired up some beautiful closets, and then had them stop functioning and you have to snip all those ties apart and start unplugging and plugging to diagnose things and your entire nice clean wiring job was all just a waste of time. Looks impressive but thats all
@cobrachoppergirl 70% of connection issues are at physical layer.. of the 70% of people who have that happen. 100% of them caused the issue themselves because they for some reason fail at terminating or used storebought cat cables. once you move up and out of learning to wire a router to your computer from your room closest you will findout that what he did in the video is a must for a efficient Setup.
I do the same thing. It is extremely ocd fulfilling. Its nice to see a technician who takes meticulous pride in detail. It looks awesome, nobody understands how much planning, patience, and time it consumes. Well done man! Lucky you get to work with decent materials and labor hours to spare for aesthetics.
I add data drops sometimes as part of A/V installs. I love when the building was cabled like this. Very few people ever see it but it makes adds and changes so much easier. Nice work-
nastasepatrucase - I agree, each business has its own needs and requirements based on their operations.
I guess i'm fortunate that our business is at a point where the servers and hardware I fitted allowed us to grow for 3-4 years without needing any additional bits of kit and only 1 or 2 patch changes in that time.
Larger businesses have a very different situation, i've been in our customer's huge data centre that has backup robots and all sorts. Speed has overtaken tidyness for sure.
I work with Industrial Ethernet / Profinet and the plugs / jacks are much better than standard networking products (IP20 and upwards). Makes me realise how cheap even the classic "good" products are on the market.
If your business is so random that things are being plugged and unplugged all the time then a more robust method should be used.
Did you know that most plugs only have a 1-plugin cycle rating? After that the manufacturer doesn't rate the plug to work. That goes for a lot of patch leads and also seperate plugs to make up your own patch leads.
wow!!!!!!!1 thats what i really call a CLEAN JOB i know it takes more time but that make u fell good at the end because thats when they know that u really know and love ur job amazing and clean
top of the line telephone/data systems accommodation great structure wiring.
the only comment I have is that as a personal experiences, is that when the upgrading time comes or if you want to run more wiring nothing looks the same again unless you redoo everything.
Whatever, impress me by using a different color for each IP.

Sorry for being too critic!
Anyway, labeling is perfect!

@cobrachoppergirl except wiring is rarely the issue and you can simply test the charge on both ends to rule out the wiring...

It depends on your environment.

Great stuff - love the labelling!
I am an IT Admin & Automation Engineer - my Engineering side of my brain doesn't get why so many racks are like spiders webs or a snakes wedding?
All the racks in our server room, have been done to this tidy standard and i'm proud that I did it.
