The are both champions. Benn's determination and heart to continue fighting when he could have folded is what impressed me about this man. Benn's legs was wobbly all throughout the fight but his heart was in it.

And Nigel Benn fought like a true hero in that fight. Those 2 knockdowns should have knocked him out. Usually I cheer when I watch boxing matches, but I was in awe, absolute awe of Nigel Benn after that. I was speechless at how courageous he was. McClellan hit Benn hard enough to knock a 250lb. heavyweight that night and Benn walked through those punches and won. It's tragic that it cost McClellan his faculties.

Geralds injuries have nothing to do with rabbit punches and everything to do with the risks of entering a ring and not paying attention to what was body was telling him at the right time! The G man had a blood clot in his brain before the fight and was getting symptoms weeks before the fight. He kept fighting Benn when he was blinking excessively earlier in the fight when should have stopped! Just tragedy of the Game!

i read before the benn fight , he had been having headaches since a sparring session with tommy hearns at the kronk gym, and they where like real fights, his corner should of stopped the fight as soon as they seen he was breathing threw his mouth so early in the fight, a sure sign there was something wrong.

The are both champions. Benn's determination and heart to continue fighting when he could have folded is what impressed me about this man. Benn's legs was wobbly all throughout the fight but his heart was in it.

Gerald McClellan was and always will be a champion, his name deserves to be mentioned among the likes of Roy Jones Jr,Bernard Hopkins,James Toney, he was awesome, to bad boxing comes at such a heavy price, most of us cant fathom the pain these men go through to compete.

Good defense wouldnt have hurt Gerald, it might have helped allot in the situation he was in. It cant be bull shit unless you just disagree with good defense. Honestly I dont really like seeing fights where the fighters have bad defense. Most of the people like that but I dont. Example Micky Ward and Gatti's fight is called one of the best fights of all time... in my eyes they were just 2 guys who didn't know how to box so it was very easy to hit eachother, I like seeing skills, not brutality.

Usually I cheer when I watch boxing matches, but I was in awe, absolute awe of Nigel Benn after that. I was speechless at how courageous he was. McClellan hit Benn hard enough to knock a 250lb. heavyweight that night and Benn walked through those punches and won. It's tragic that it cost McClellan his faculties.

Best middleweight of all time. He was like a middleweight Tyson. If his career hadn't but cut short, he would have likely retired undefeated. He was beating Benn when he couldn't continue. Sometimes the right hit and the wrong time can cause an injury like that. Unbelievable fighter. Roy Jones ducked him, James Toney ducked him (that's coming from a big Roy Jones fan too).

I grew up down the street from Jones, still hang n go w/ him to all his fights to this day. Roy never ducked Gerald. He actually wanted to fight him again. I can't speak on Toney because I don't know him or the situation personally. W/ all due respect G was great in the ring, but never got to reach his full potential, so he wasn't the "best MW of all time". Nor was he anything like Tyson, that's an insult to the Gerrald. King really screwed G over all said n done. Tragic.
